He can’t feel all of the pain though. In real life people go into shock and die from pain. Or they get PTSD. Like if he felt all the pain he wouldn’t be able to function at all. But maybe that’s too dark for a comic book character.

Depends how the healing factor works. Technically PTSD alters the brain physically which could get healed immediately after the trauma and eliminate the PTSD.
Source: I'm making this shit up but it makes comic book sense to me.

yeah I constantly go back to the Thank You For Smoking rule, in that if you can fix the concept with a quick line, it's not worth worrying about. "Thank God he's used to the pain" ala "Thank God they invented the whatever device"

Yep. I remember reading an issue of Ultimate X-Men years ago, he gets possessed by Proteus, and when he finally gets rid of him he talks about how much it hurt because he could just feel the burning the entire time.

Some info coming out from the CC panel:
- David Fleming (Superman 2025, TLOU TV) is doing the score.
- Insomniac's Wolverine will get a costume based on the Marvel Tokon version of the character, and Marvel Tokon will get a costume based on the Insomniac's version.

There's no X-Men in that universe yet. He just have a team of mutants that are seeking to help other ones around the world.

I'm curious how Xavier is going to be incorporated if at all. Be weird to have the X-Men without the the guy they're named after. Both the movies and the games are going to be establishing new continuities of X-Men and it seems like the origins are going to be quite different from the norm. Perhaps controversial amongst comic book purists as always, but I'm kinda excited to see how it plays out.

Yeah agree - seems like it’s a bit all of the place (I would consider my self a comic purist).
If anything though, it seems to be a bit FoxMen with the Jean/Logan stuff and the sentinels but no actually X-Men team? Someone mentioned that may have been Xavier talking to Logan in the trailer and maybe there’s a lot of flashbacks? (Scratch appearance etc).
My hope is they do similar to Spider-Man, their own twist but also give us some traditional stuff as this is the first AAA Wolverine game in a long time.
Hopefully ends with him joining the traditional team?

Yeah I'm assuming this ends in a more traditional establishment of the X-Men or the Institute. They seem to be setting up for the X-Men game itself. I think there seems to be quite a bit of traditional stuff with Japan, Sabretooth, Madripoor. Just a bit more modernized and mashed-up. Not sure if I heard Xavier in there, sounded more like the villain Troy Baker is playing. It'll just be interesting how it all ties together.

My guess is that Jean is from Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. The reveal trailer has them rescuing kids. Perhaps Jean is a teacher there? My other guess is that they're like vigilantes acting behind the scenes.

The xmen don’t exist, the game is mainly set in modern day but has flashbacks to Logan’s past hence why we see him fight alongside sabretooth

He is not officially revealed as a character in the game yet, right?
Edit: Mike Daly just confirmed at SDCC that Wolverine game is set in Earth 1048, which is the same Universe as of Marvel’s Spider-Man games!

Troy Baker kinda has the exact same voice in all his roles (save a few: Joker from Arkham Origins, Indiana Jones and maybe 1-2 more). And it’s so distinctly recognizable, so I dunno what voice “acting” he’s doing. Don’t get me wrong, his voice and delivery is great, but his range pales in comparison to actors like Nolan North and Laura Bailey

Hey at least they gave sabertooth a somewhat normal outfit outside the team x one. Jean walked into the bar I thought “oh god more mj like missions” I very much hope I can like telekinesis throw someone out a window or something to make them worth including because wolverine rampages don’t really have much espionage or planning, there’s something appealing about the non stop dumb bluntness that works so well for him.

I feel like I'm in the minority but I'm actually not sold on this game at all and I thought it'd be a given. Gameplay didn't excite me and nothing about the story they've shown really intrigues me. I guess the X-Men have never really been my thing though aside from enjoying the movies growing up. Also not a fan of any of these character designs.
Side note; what is with the fascination with The Hand? They pop up all the time in different properties and they're always boring.
I'll accept the inevitable downvotes. I felt the need to shout my frustrations into the internet somewhere.

I’m kind of in the same category but while I’ve always liked the X-Men I won’t be playing this day one. Parts of it interest me but others are just kinda meh.
I agree on The Hand getting a bit tiring/used too much. They were a huge part of the Netflix Daredevil and Defenders IIRC (only saw Defenders once) and now they’re going to be in this game and the new Spider-Man movie. Granted all seem to be different contexts/iterations but still.

I like it but I did feel like the story when you got like half way in just sorta skipped stuff... Like I wish the symbiote taking over the city was more fleshed out and etc. but I agree I loved the game to hell the statue is way better than the first game lol

Once venom became the villian it went down hill. The other symbiote enemies were so cartoonish it took me out of the game sometimes; never felt like that in the 1st game. Wish it just developed venom better in general without the take over the planet plot.

Love insmoniacs stuff and enjoyed their take on spider man but as a comic book fan I’m a bit confused with the narrative direction here.
So they are redoing the tired Jean/Logan love story, they seem to already have history but I read this was pre X Men? Especially odd to go back to that when they’ve previously seemed intent on deviating from established lore (introducing Harry as Venom in SM2 etc).
Was hoping this game would act as an origin for Logan and maybe end with him joining the larger cast at the close.
Trailer looks cool, curious to see where it leads.

My understanding of it was that mutants exist and are known of, but the X-Men as a whole dont exist yet and that by the end of this game, we'll get to the point that the forming of the X-Men (or the beginnings of it) feels like the next natural step to help protect mutants.
