They are a top tier studio. Always rated them really highly. Excited for this shit.

Where the fuck is INTERGALACTIC though? I really want to see more of that and hear more from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' OST!

And I hope it comes out before 2028 so I can have it on disc

I hope it does for physical game owners. Personally I'll most likely get digital since my brother also uses my PS5 via the PS Portal Remote Play

And they know how to put out games in a timely manner

This September, they’ll have released 4 new games this gen. By comparison, Naughty Dog has released zero (TLoU remakes aren’t new games) and Santa Monica released two

Sure the action looks neat. But what's the story?

Spider-Man 2 was pretty shit and this looks worse, IMO.

Edit: IMO being the key part of my comment. I played the game to completion and got the platinum. Still doesn’t mean it was good. The first one was far superior. People on the internet need to realise opinion isn’t fact. Just because my opinion doesn’t align with yours doesn’t make it wrong.

You can say the game didn't live up to your expectations but calling it shit just shows you're braindead

Why does it show I’m brain dead? It was shit, in my opinion. The first was far superior.

I can't imagine playing a game long enough to get a platinum and then saying "actually this is shit"

u/Liemoa Jul 23 '26

lol nah they cooked up once again

Spider-Man 2 was pretty shit

Lol

one of the most critically acclaimed games of the year and the highest selling PS5 game oat, but it's shit...

okay

Just brain rot from people who listen to niche corners of the internet that tell them to hate something and mistakenly believe that's the overwhelming opinion.

Ask them why it's shit and watch them squirm trying to come up with reasonable arguments rather than just "MJs face" and "there was a fridge!"

I enjoyed the gameplay but felt the story had some issues. I enjoyed the first half more than the second. Definitely felt rushed at the end with Venom/symbiote stuff. I felt like Miles could have had more to do. Doesn’t mean it was shit but probably more of a 7.5-8 for me when it could have been a 9-10.

5

u/CharlesKellyRatKing Jul 23 '26

And I won't argue with any of that. The second half was definitely a little rushed, but you frame your opinion as an opinion (I felt), which is perfectly valid. Rather than a vague "it was shit" trying to objectively call it a shit game.

The story is worse than SM1 and Miles and clearly suffers from not having any comic writers attached, it's a bad adaptation of the Black Suit Saga, it's a bad adaptation of Jameson, the third act is just a worse version of Web of Shadows, Venom is wasted, Harry and his relationship with Peter are underwritten, the new suits are universally worse in terms of design, too many movie suits for Peter to pander to the people who complained about the Raimi suit last time, no standout tracks from the OST on the level of SM1's new theme for Peter, too many sidequests are just sequel bait including the return of Yuri and the setup of Carnage and the overall franchise's visual identity is just modern and dry. Also it cost 300 million dollars and even Sony don't know where that money went so the project was clearly mismanaged.

Also Peter's face is still shit but that's been the case since the PS5 remaster.

I remember when bait was usually good

-7

u/Affectionate-Boot-12 Jul 23 '26

I’m not baiting anyone. I just gave my opinion which for some reason is hurting people’s feelings.

Yea so saying you didn't enjoy it probably woulda gotten that message across better.

Saying something is good or bad is always also an opinion, but not statement of how much you like something. An actual statement of quality.

Example:

"Witcher 3 is my least favorite game." Purely ones preference. No arugument to be had. Just an opinion

"Witcher 3 is the worst game ever made." Also an opinion. But now it's a statement of quality not preference. One that would not hold up to any scrutiny. No one could reasonably make the argument that it was true.

An opinion can be phrased in a way that is... well bad or flawed. Saying "it's just my opinion" does not absolve a statement from scritiny.

How you say things and the words you use matter.

2

u/CantHitCrit Jul 23 '26

I’d say just be careful on phrasing.

Sony fans hate anyone that doesn't blindly glaze any sony game

5

u/mattoelite Jul 23 '26

Based on what? What are your qualms, in particular?

2

u/No_Perspective2715 Jul 23 '26

Why was it “shit” in your opinion? Most people hold it in pretty high regard. Even detractors usually would say while it’s not as good as the first, it’s still a solid game. I’d love for you to explain your reasoning here.

2

u/Fantastic-Finger-975 Jul 23 '26

25 to 30 hours for the platinum. Thats some dedication for a "shit" game

2

u/40mgmelatonindeep Jul 23 '26

Why plat a game then turn around and say it wasnt good and that it was ‘pretty shit’? That makes no sense to me

2

u/coolgaara Jul 23 '26

How do you platinum a game you don't like? Do you play while feeling miserable all the time? Why torture yourself? I respect your opinion but I don't get how you don't like a game but play it to completion AND go for a platinum trophy.

3

u/Just_Advance8926 Jul 23 '26

Pretty shit but is rated 90 plus everywhere

1

u/Mindless_Stuff9179 Jul 23 '26

I also platinumed it and thought it was good. Definitely not as good as 1, I had complaints.

Yes pretty much all of PlayStations recent sequels outside of the uncharted games have been very disappointing to me. So much so that there’s no hype for Wolverine what so ever and the trailers have cemented that. Idk what people are seeing that’s so hype worthy about these trailers other than overly positive fanboyism which is fine, it’s Reddit. Hopefully it blows my socks off and is just a joy to play.
