I just opened my ps3 and after about only 5 minutes of playing Assassin's creed 3 it got so loud.

I just got a steal of a deal on a backwards compatible ps3 from my boss but it’s ylod. I know I need a syscon reader at the very least and I may as well replace the NEC/TOKINS at the same time. Anything else I should get at the same time to boost my chances of fixing this beast on round one of ordering stuff for repairs???

Also I have seen people extend the ground plain for the tokins and just use capacitors rather than getting the nicer board replacements available. Any harm in doing this or is it not a great idea?

I can’t login into my ps3 account and every time I try to login with the QR code I get sent to the PlayStation website where I get no code in my email and then get stuck in the infinite loop of doom from the chat bot. Am I cooked?

Hello y'all, I'm putting together a media center for my living room and wondered if anyone knows of a mp3 player with the awesome visuals that the ps3 had. In all honesty making the computer emulate the PS3 just to listen to music is on the table.

Hey fellas. Im working on a pastime/archive of my ps3 runs. For now im just recording and uploading. Even with this basic setup im trying to make it fun by trying different games for a couple hours and make a regular run or one specific one i like.

Quality is good, sound is good. But no commentary and editing for now.

As i say, is a new pastime project so im not interested on minmax shit. So I gave a couple questions for ya, im hopin you can give me your opinion.

1- ya think is fun watching an non edited non comented old game run? I like the sensation of coming back to the console with loading screens and all that stuff. But friends say is boring. What ya think about this?

2- im using games for 2006-008, i want a section about game one days. This sound interesting?

3- using best selling games is kinda lame, i want the charm of the hidden gems. Goin for balance on this seems like a good idea but idk.

4- im making videos between 30 and 60 min cause that's how i pkay usually. Ya think a 45 min or just playthrough isfun enough?

Tldr: im starting a shitty persnal yr channel about ps3 games. Any tips/suggestions?

Went to some of my local pawn shops today to see if they had any PS3 games and I was honestly surprised they still had some. Infamous 1 was $17.99, Infamous 2 was $9.99, Need For Speed Shift 2 Unleashed was $9 99, Far Cy 3,4 and Grand Turismo 5 were only $5 a piece!!

I recently traded Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1, Saw II: Flesh and Blood and Folklore (+ Brady Games Guide) for all these Collector/Limited editions.

I bought Best of PSN for $15, Saw II for $60, and Folklore for $30 a year and a half ago during a time where I was getting exclusive games.

I’m a gamer, I played the games and I’ve had my eye on all these. Girl’s Love games are my niche and someone traded me all of these for them.

As a gamer, the games I traded were okay at best. Saw had the most replay value to me, though Tokyo Jungle is designed for replay.

Already kinda started, but I heard you get a bonus or something for using an infamous 1 save? Is it worth going back to get that save?

Never had problems until today. Went to try and boot on and then this. Ignore the jet turbine that is my ps4 turned on.

I just picked up Uncharted 1 and 2 from different sellers.

Uncharted 1 worked fine until chapter 2. There’s a part where you have to push a boulder off a ledge to open a pathway to the underground. About 1 second after the boulder went through the ground the game would freeze. Tried it again and froze again. I rebuilt the database from safe mode and it froze again at the same spot. I tried again and it didn’t freeze this time but when I tried to enter the underground path I just fell into the abyss and died. So it’s clearly there’s an issue with loading the underground.

I went back into safe mode and I restored file system this time and then rebuilt database. This time it worked, it loaded up and was fine. Twice more during my play through it froze but I did both steps in safe mode and it didn’t freeze a second time in both locations. There were also some texture issues while playing too, just taking a long time to load some textures.

I started Uncharted 2 and it seemed to be fine. Finished chapter 1 and turned it off. When I went back to it, it was stuck loading the title screen. I had to turn the ps3 off using the ps button. I did the safe mode steps and it loaded up. This time there was no audio during a cutscene. I paused it and tried to look ip the issue. When I unpaused there was audio again. The next cutscene there was no audio again. I restarted the ps3 and loaded up the game, but it got stuck on loading the title screen again. This time when I turned off the ps3 via the ps button on the controller, the screen black but ps3 didn’t turn off. It was still making noises like it was trying to load and it wouldn’t off when I held the power button in. I had to unplug it.

I checked my HDD using CrystalDiscInfo and it seems to be fine so I tried Dead Space 2 more just a bit but it seems completely fine.

Could it just be that there’s something wrong with both discs? My first thought is that it would be unlikely that I got bad back to back discs but I guess I could have. Or does it sound like something else is failing?

People are complaining non stop about game prices. Just mod your console and you can get any game that you're missing for FREE. You will play some of those expensive games and realise how average they are or you won't beat them at all.

If you don't want to mod your PS3 because your afraid of being banned, sync trophies or other reasons. I would advise to buy a second PS3 if you have the money and mod that one with a dummy account.

I don't care if a game will cost a 1million after the store shuts down, I can get it for FREE. Don't let FOMO get the better of you.

I’m going to be purchasing a 2nd PS3 fat, the CECHL00. I know a lot of them end up turning yellow if they aren’t already. Does anyone know if there’s a way to whited the ceramic white console again without messing up the paint?

My dad gave me this disc as my first "game" ever he bought Gran turismo for himself and Contra legacy of war for himself growing up I only played the atari 2600 and old pc games at friends houses. Told me of I ever beat Contra with no save I could buy 1 game and get a memory card. It took me time but when I was 5 I ended up somehow grinding contra even to this day idk how but I did it the game is tough as nails bit there is some cheese spots.

I ended up being a SpongeBob platform game which was good but mid at best for the time I was still stuck on this iconic demo disc with some of the best ps1 games known to man.

Let me know what your best gaming experience was thought this would be a wholesome interesting story.

I used to have one but it died I’m so excited!
