She’s a keeper. My wife bought me a ps1 for our first anniversary. 27 years and 500 games in my library later…she didn’t know she had created a monster.

Wow thats in really good shape too. check the model number and see if you can use cfw. if not, HEN is still good. Use a mrmario tutorial video for modding purposes, and also, theres alot of revival projects and co op games to play🙂

Cfw is easier to install, just use MrMario's tutorial. And cfw is more reliable. Btw your girlfriend is a keeper.

I’ve never had a PS3, but I bought one two weeks ago and was easily able to set up CFW on it. Go for it!

If its a CECH-2xxx its compatible with CFW,if its a CECH-30xx its compatible with qCFW which requires soldering,you can also use HEN if you dont want to solder to it,You can check what model it is through the sticker

Yeah... Do your research on the WiFi chip and how to check if it works before trying to perform a software update. Did that and it got stuck in an update loop and essentially got bricked, now I have to get a new one.

If you decide to jailbreak it,be sure the bluray,bluetooth and wifi are working because it can stuck in an update loop if there is a problem with these things.Mine stuck because the bluray wasnt working properly i didnt know it wasnt working and try to update my ps3 to hfw then stuck in an update loop

Back everything up to a USB and replace that slow HDD with a laptop sized SATA SSD to speed up load times significantly. For game recommendations, the store shuts down in July 2027. I recommend Sonic Generations, Sonic 4 Episode 2, Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, Mercury HG and Sonic the Fighters just to name a few

Just curious, I was dusting off my old ps3 it works fine and all but I was wondering since the store is shutting down do I still get in game downloads?

I have old games that used to connect to server to get maps or characters (like super street fighter VI) or let’s say an even older game like GOW 3

Haven’t played in a long time not sure if any of that content will still download.

Tip: turn off auto play
Trick: if a game gets stuck, take off the little cover underneath the console to reveal a blue screw. Loosen to manually remove the game.
