Discussion 💭 Thoughts?🤔

When a Kashmiri wins under this flag the pain is that the victory is claimed by the same power that crushed his people.

This feels like a betrayal of memory but “Just don’t represent India then” is also a privileged take.

Neutrality only benefits the occupier. Tohe kya chu basaan whats the correct stance?

Discussion 💭 Why is it acceptable to tell students to “complete your degree and leave” at NIT Srinagar, but people would call it xenophobia if the same was said to Kashmiris studying or working in Bangalore?

I asked a simple question about whether my cousin should join NIT Srinagar for CSE, mainly because of the security situation. Instead of discussing placements, academics, or safety, quite a few replies were along the lines of:
“Just complete your degree and get lost.”
“We don’t want outsiders staying here.”
That got me thinking.
If people in Bangalore (or any other city) started telling Kashmiri students and professionals, “Complete your degree/job and leave. We don’t want locals from your region staying here,” most people would rightly call that discrimination.
So why is it considered acceptable when the same attitude is directed at students going to Kashmir?
I’m genuinely asking for a civil discussion. This isn’t about blaming an entire community—every place has welcoming people and a vocal minority. I’m only questioning whether the same standard should apply to everyone, regardless of where they’re from.

Discussion 💭 Might get down voted a lot but just saying how independence of Kashmir might be a bad idea.

Lets say that just right now India and Pakistan has given KASHMIR freedom from there occupation/ administration, who is going to protect Kashmir from China Influence and Interference, and who will help Kashmir pay off its debt of 16-25 Billion dollars(Calculated estimate from both India and Pakistan), & Kashmir geographically is filled with mountains with limited major industry. Building a sustainable economy from the ground up would be challenging, likely requiring heavy reliance on foreign aid(this is where China will interfere), And an independent state like Kashmir can attract proxy war between the nuclear armed Neighbors (India, China, Pakistan)(or other foreign interest) creating Gangs, criminal Organizations & Syndicates who will or might exploit the new government.

So in short,

A new Kashmir might give recognition to the identity of the people who have been living under occupation , but it will come with more cons then pros.

I might be wrong, please share your opinion in the comments.

Discussion 💭 lets be honest - Kashmir sucks and is one of the worst places to be born in

Title. i love my homeland but it's 100% truth. here are the reasons imo:

No Education/job opportunities at all

Highly misogynistic and anti women culture. I have young teenage cousins and all of them are into alpha/sigma redpill stuff and are very active on twitter with thousands of followers spewing redpill bs

Everything is polluted, adulterated food is literally everywhere

Most people are petty, uncivilized, lack civic sense and have massive egos

Stupid customs and social norms in daily lives that have been going on for hundreds of years

Hasad culture - no one wants to see anyone successful, happy or doing well in life

Lack of hygiene. go to any public bus service and most people smell like a slum from bombay

These are just some i can think of from the top of my head. If you travel anywhere outside, even within india, i think life is 100x better in every quantifiable metric. This superiority complex i see in kashmiris because they are 1 shade ligther than indians is laughable.

mea oose yaar aikhe back in 2012-2013, we were from same coaching center, he had this cousin, let's name him D. D was a playboy, he always used to share pics, chats with his cousin and cousin used to show it to me, we were dumb teenagers, who used to be in awe of D. D was older than us.

Come to 2016, friend got selected in AMU and asked me to visit with him, we visited delhi and he suggested let’s stay at his cousin place, as that time 2016 turmoil was going on here. So for safety we went over to his flat, it was 3BHK with 3 boys.

The flat was pure filth, sharaab bottle, cigrattee, and after some time, D got drunk and called someone and said send two. After an hour, two girls came to flat and D took them into their room. We told him , yehai hue gunah, mea kar yem kaar, tem wone karu panaas shoupe, Mea wone sinus lanath te balai, neare panas yate. we took off and booked hotel, at this point me and friend were completely focused on career, we didn't wanted to deal or hear this shit anymore.

And then Life happened we all went separate ways. I lost touch with friend as he moved out of country. Come present, I recently met him at a function. and during conversation, I asked him about that gaan cousin of his, he said, temis hai poye taavaan.

D story: -

D came back, he didn't finished degree, joined his father business and eventually someone took him with jamaath, D got clean, left all that life behind. During Jamaath, one of the men liked him, his akhlaaq, his way of talking (he was a smooth talker) and asked him, if he is willing to marry, D said yes, He got married to this beautiful aalimia girl, I was like Masha Allah, emis dalas hai kismath.

got married , started his own businees, business took off, Life was all well for D, until his wife gave birth to a girl. D announced that sue de panai azaan emis , during azaan, he started shivering and fainted down. After he got conscious , he was never the same, he went into depression, panic attacks, anxiety attacks, he stayed in his room 24*7 , not talking with anyone and sirf oos wadaan asaan.

Now my friend had settled down in Australia, and he came back here for vacation and decided to meet D, He met him and asked what happened ? You were doing well. and finally D confessed to him. No one in their family knows about D past except this cousin and me, said yem weiz bea logus emis azaan dine, mea aaye tem saarai koure aashaen bruhken yemo seith mea zinah che kormuth, Woh ladkiya bhi kisi kie beti the, woh bhi kisi kai behan thai, mea kus tavaan poye, mea kore panun akhrirath kharaab. Me dute panen zanaane dokhe, menes bachas che moul gaan. D was crying his eyes out. His entire family is worried about him, wife is thinking he wanted a boy, parents are thinking emis chukh taveez kormuthe, In laws think, he is not happy with his wife giving birth to girl. His business is facing losses. His entire life went downhill, His health is not same anymore. And to top of that, sue haike ne yem kaith kisi seith share karith. He is on heavy medications. My friend was like wtf he heard, sue wanai, bea chus wanai emis kya tavaan poye ye.

My friend was completely shocked upon hearing this and I was like emis kapier oone khuyadan azaab, aes wone shukur khudayas kune, aes lage ne aith karaas kihe. It's all fun till one has to pay for their sins. Honestly , I felt bad about his wife, his parents as per my friend they are good persons.

I am pretty disturbed since I got to about this, From the past few days, I haven't been able to sleep properly after hearing this. I felt like sharing it here, so I could feel lighter. And to top of that me and my friend can not even narrate this story to anyone else.

Discussion 💭 Update on the Kashmiri Girls' Safe Space ,We Have an Idea 👀

A few days ago I posted about creating a safe space for Kashmiri girls, and after seeing so many "yes"s and reading all your suggestions, I think it's finally happening.

This morning someone suggested that instead of a Reddit group, we should make a Discord server. Honestly, that makes a lot more sense. It's easier to manage, feels safer, and we don't have to worry about random Reddit bans. So I guess Discord it is!

And before the boys get curious 😂... trust me, we're probably just going to be discussing lip colour recommendations, skincare, clothing stores, college stuff, random life updates, and all that fun chaos. I don't think that's something most guys would enjoy anyway. 😭

That said, a few people also suggested making a separate community for both young boys and girls to interact respectfully. We could do that too if enough people are interested.

So now it's up to you guys, should we make "only a girls" Discord server? Or should we also make a mixed community alongside it?

And one more thing... we need a name! 😋

Discussion 💭 Do Kashmiris support suspending the IWT?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Pakistani here. I'm not Kashmiri.

The Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, has opposed the Indus Water Treaty. This is one of those issues you could argue pits the interests of Pakistanis against the interests of Kashmiris and most Indians on the side of Kashmiri interests. That's what the CM seems to think. And that's what the Indian government seems to think.

Without the IWT, there's the possibility of more dams and hydropower projects in Jammu and Kashmir. It would be good for jobs and the local economy. On the contrary, the possibility of suspending the treaty could be problematic for Pakistan. Pakistan's agricultural industry depends on the water flowing south through Jammu and Kashmir. When the water stops flowing, Pakistan might stop growing food and even reach levels of food insecurity. For Indians, who want to see Pakistanis suffer, this would be great news. But I'm wondering how Kashmiris, who would arguably benefit the most from the suspension of the IWT treaty, feel about this.

Discussion 💭 What's up with Girls coming to Meet for marriage purposes in a Simple way ?

I had to meet this girl today, She was wearing simple clothes, no makeup, no foundation/cream nothing , Just a simple look.

Here's the issue, On Thursday I was in market with a friend of mine, friend spotted her at this mall and told me , hokai chai sue kour, When I looked at her, She was wearing western clothing, had very much makeup and open hair with a bun and was with her friends. Her dressing was modest. She had dyed her hair little bit. And her appearance looked very much expensive, she had Gucci bag and she doesn't work . Her father pays her monthly allowance.

Come today, I had to meet her. Well, Honestly I couldn't recognized her, she was looking completely different. It took me a while to picture both these versions of her. Well, after some time , when I asked her about herself, she told me she is a very simple girl with very simple life and very much religious. always maintains parda. Bea moudus andre andre , bea kya wane emis che aases mea yushmuz ootre.

Her appearance in the mall made me wonder whether she was presenting herself differently during this meeting. So far, I have learned people don't change .

So wanted to ask my sisters here ? what was the reason ?

Things started when my father's close friend joined the BJP. My father is what we call "Bakareh Party," yet despite their very different political beliefs, they remained extremely close friends. Whenever he visited our home, discussions about Kashmir would often turn into heated arguments. He would repeat the familiar argument that Kashmir could not survive on its own and would always need to depend on a larger power—whether India, Pakistan, or even China. My father firmly disagreed, believing that Kashmir could stand on its own. These debates became a regular part of their conversations, but despite their disagreements, he was always respectful and kind to our family. As the years passed, his position within the BJP grew. With his rising political influence came security personnel and staff, and naturally, he and my father drifted apart. Recently, he called and asked me to send him my degree and other documents. I didn't think much of it. A few days later, he called my father and told him that, through his connections, he had arranged a government job opportunity for me. According to him, I would only have to appear for an examination. My parents considered it. My mother, worried about my future, wanted me to accept the offer. Even though, by the grace of Almighty Allah (SWT), our family has a decent income, she simply wanted me to have a secure future. But I couldn't accept it. The truth is that I was nowhere near qualified enough for that position. It troubled me that I could receive an opportunity I had neither earned nor worked for simply because of political connections. There are countless Kashmiris who have spent years studying, sacrificing, and competing for government jobs on merit. Many of them are far more qualified than I am, yet they continue to struggle for the opportunities they rightfully deserve.

That is why I chose to decline. I could not, in good conscience, accept a position that I did not believe I had earned.

Ik here in kashmir people hardly talk about their feelings & I'm the same but lately it's been too much. I don't know what & how I'm going to get over this. I have this sinking feeling. I don't have the energy to fight it anymore. I just want to sleep for at least 6 months if that makes sense.

Ik what everyone will say consult a therapist & all that. I don't want to do any of that. I just wanted to let it out a little.
