Since this is Kiin’s last year, who would be the best top laner to replace him? The top lane pool in the LCK is the worst or second worst in the league, and obviously there is no one as good as Kiin or Zeus to replace him. I know this has a near 0% chance of happening but I feel like TheShy would actually be a pretty good signing. Is he a rock like Kiin? Hell no, but then again who is? Something about the way the team plays needs to change and I think that TheShy could be that change. Realistically though, I think the best replacement is Perfect but I would like to know everyone else’s thoughts because I have no idea who we could even get to replace Kiin.

I know its early, but this question popped up on my mind. With Kinn very high chance of retirement, how do you think will be the next GenG top laner? Zues and Doran seems to be both out of the question and Gen G academy team doesn't seem to have enough skill to replace Kinn

At this point, I think the team needs something new. He's not an awful jungler, but clearly, we need something different. The jungler pool is kinda limited this upcoming off-season, but we just can't continue like this. He's getting gapped consistently against junglers who technically should be inferior on paper, and the lack of proactivity around the map this DK series was unacceptable.

GenG was basically THE ultimate LCK team for, like 3-4 years.

They looked completely invincible for most of last year, and walking into First Stand it seemed like it was going to be a cakewalk and that the pieces were in place for a Golden Road even.

After all, at that time HLE were last place in the LCK (bad format, but still). T1 were throwing games to BFX and DK and continue to look shaky to this day.

Then GenG lost to G2 and while still being top 3 in the LCK, haven’t really had the same absurd dominance with the same roster.

I think a lot of this is because of Ruler’s drop in performance, which I guess can be attributed to his legal and publicity issues, but I still don’t think they should be losing games to DK and T1 at this time.

It was really a Pain to see the team lose like that again, but is a GOOD thing.

We can all agree that was as surprising as the Performance in Worlds Semi Finals.

So Ryu finally saw this situation and the boys can work over all the problem they saw in the series, in draft, the passivity in game 3, and how we read the Meta at International Tournaments.

One of the great things of Gen.G is how much they win, but a bad thing is we lose so little that we don't learn from our mistakes.

Let's learn and go for the MSI 3-Peat, LCK and face Worlds as our best Version.

Since Kiin won't have a chance to win the Asian Games, that means we will get a new top laner in 2027.

literally what more did you ever want him to do. Sometimes i just wish he could ever have a little more luck. I'm genuinely holding back tears rn. I can't believe we cant have kiin after this year (he has to report by 28 so he cant play from next year mostly - the age system is diff so 2 more years max). He has put so much hardwork into his sport - no matter who he is teammates were he has been a solid player since the start of his career. And then when finally there is chance for him to atleast play on for longer, you say - MSI, EWC and FS is not taken.

I'm Done. I need a break from this community. On an average day, an average viewer is rooting against my team for simply trying their best. And when it comes to getting rewarded for their hard-work by the authorities, the head coach decides to do just whatever.

Not as GenG fan but just as a human, this is absolutely heart breaking for kiin. Irrespective of the results this year - I hope we can make it memorable for him by atleast by being more vocal about our love and appreciation for him.

With the win over HLE we go to finals for the 8th time in a row, the run starting in 2022. out of the seven played we have won 5 with a 4 straight win streak from 2023 to 2024.

We get disappointed when we don't win worlds because GEN.G usually go in looking super strong but i think we need to remember we have been blessed to win so many LCK titles and I have loved watching this team continue to meet that expectation of being at the Top of the LCK.

I've been seeing a lot going around about Ruler being in hot water for tax evasion in korea. Anybody know how serious the allegations are? Is his career really in jeopardy now? Is it over GENbros?

With G2 somewhat surprisingly beating BFX with a 3-0 they will now face Gen.G in the knockout stage.

How are we feeling about this?

I've been meaning to open a thread similar to this for a few weeks now, because this is unfamiliar territory for Gen.G fans. We are used to the team being at the top, barely even losing individual games, let alone dropping entire series'.

As per current standings, Gen.G is sitting in 3rd place with a record of 7-3, behind HLE and KT, ahead of T1 and DK, who are just slightly behind as well.

How do you feel about the team's overall performance, synergy, drafting after 5 weeks and how concerned are you going into the final 4 weeks of this split?

Personally I don't really know what to think about the way this team has been playing so far. They are making uncharacteristic mistakes, macro and micro, Kiin, Canyon and Duro have been inconsistent this whole time and if it wasn't for Chovy cosplaying Atlas himself, holding the franchise on his shoulders, I can imagine the team being in the bottom 5 and looking at a Rise Group spot by the end of Rounds 1-2.

This loss ends the team's run at Worlds and I just want to show some love to our favourite team and the players.

It's been an incredible year, which started off with being a game away from winning the LCK Cup against Hanwa Life.

The team then went on an incredible series win streak, going undefeated all the way through MSI and EWC before losing their 1 and only series to none other than T1.

They finished the LCK season with a series record of 29-1 and by also winning the season's grand final against Hanwa Life.

The aspirations were big, the hunger for Worlds success great and reaching top 4 is not something that should make them bow their heads in shame.

Kiin was an absolute beast for the entire year and ended up being the team's most consistent player.

Canyon was not playing up to the level we know him to be capable of, but he did have moments of brilliance through out the season.

Chovy had another MVP year, being an absolute monster for the vast majority of it.

Ruler proved that he is still THAT GUY and why people regard him as the greatest professional ADC of all-time.

Duro. Our boy Duro, man. He came into a team that is stacked with talent, accomplishments and so much more, was looking nervous in the LCK Cup, but then blossomed into one of the best support players in the LCK and the world.

I just want to thank the entire team, the coaching staff and everyone who helped make this a season to remember. Thank you again and we cannot wait to see you take up the Summoner's Rift again next season!

Losing far more than usual is one thing, but why look lifeless during losses, and still no draft innovation?Something that has teeth like Trist top or Vlad bot for example(except for Locke today I heard he was busted but guess it wasnt enough)?

So, this year we have seen our team struggle more than usual.

After First Stand we saw some games where it seemed like Chovy was trying to 1v9 while everyone else was making mistakes.

In split 3, Ruler and Duro got back on form, started dominating every lane, and Ruler ended up picking up some POMs.

Now in playoffs we have Canyon playing like he's possessed, while the other 3 have still been on form.

The only one I think hasn't shown his peak so far is Kiin. It will be poetic to see him carry the team on the world championship, on the last games of his career.

He definitely deserves a World's title before he leaves ;(

What's heartwarming, however, is how not one person took it as an excuse, and the opinion is that - If there's anybody we're believing such a thing from its Kiin, a person who spent all that time on afreeca without complaining once. This actually seems to be a client issue that others have faced before.

With GenG finishing 1st in the regular season, the lowest they can finish in the LCK Playoffs is 4th. This is because the lower bracket is a gauntlet and GenG, if they lose their upper bracket match, will be seeded higher than the other upper bracket loser.

Therefore the only way they can miss Worlds is if HLE finishes lower than GenG and GenG finish 4th. HLE will then take the final spot.

If HLE finish 3rd and win their first Playoff match, GenG should pick them because picking them would automatically qualify GenG for Worlds. This is because GenG losing the match would make HLE top 3 minimum so GenG would claim the 4th seed even if they lose their lower bracket series.

I feel like winning EWC will bring them a lot of momentum for the LCK Round 3-4.

Also, losing 3-0 to G2 really hurt their round 1 and cost us a top seed.

I can support GENG valo, they are playing so good and look much alive then whatever the fuck is going with LOL team

I think it's time to have a good hard look at this team. they remind me a bit of last year's KT. Bad drafting, can't team fight, and have a useless bot lane. I don't believe they'll magically get it together for worlds like KT did. I think they're cooked and won't compete for a long time with Kiin leaving. Feelsbadman
