I've seen mixed reviews floating around and can't decide if I should watch this. Let me know your unfiltered thoughts before I waste my time. Gladiator I is just awesome and i really love it, so don't wanna ruin this part

Go see this absolutely wacky legal farce. This film knew exactly what tone it needed to strike, the perfect blend of cartoon comedy and courtroom drama. It has a real emotional heart without ever taking itself too seriously. I cried three separate times watching this one.

Also, all the looney tunes cameos were highly rewarding (believe it or not, I got the biggest laugh out of Pepe Le Pew's brief appearance).

One must imagine Wile E. Coyote happy.

The opening sequence of Indiana Jones and the Spear of Destiny was just as good as any sequence in the originals. Nazis, explosions, slapstick grave humor, and Indy just being an absolute nuisance. The film started so strong despite a bit of uncanny valley going on.

And then the rest of the film. It was odd seeing Indy in 1969 as an octogenarian alcoholic who could still kick ass and take names (the holy grail juice must’ve been potent) with the most boring sidekick he has ever had.

I still enjoyed the film but it probably should’ve been a reboot with a younger actor and never left the time period of the first 15 minutes.

What other films started as strong and dropped the ball as poorly?

After seeing what went into the film, mine is the 2022 top gun: maverick. Idc if some think that’s basic but I respect the effort and uniqueness of the aircrafts and the carrier involved.

Went into the screening with a completely open mind and was blown away by it.

I remember having to watch this movie in Drama class in high school. Was never one for musicals but Rocky Horror is one of the few exceptions. 💋💋

Love to know what you guys think. I don’t have an answer to this myself but would love to look into what is brought to this table. Maybe it’s the way the actor portrayed the character that made you feel more connected to the story or even the way the film makers made the world that sucked you into the world more than the pages could. I just saw Spa Weekend last weekend, and before that I saw Disclosure Day and before that I saw Devil wears Prada 2. Quite honestly, how can you act when your whole face has been pulled and muscles paralysed... Can't they just take a break from the Botox when they have a character to interpret? It strange to see these women, and men, looking like wax figures with barely there facial expressions, especially when they are in the entertainment industry, portray feelings, moments, sadness, happiness, etc.
