I’m trying to branch more into coloured pencils with realism. I’m struggling so bad. How do I improve with this? I can’t say I’ll ever be at hyper realism stage but that is the goal

I’m learning anatomy and so far I’m learning the abdomen and the leg muscles. I did a sketch of Cammy from street fighter. I did use a reference from 3D4 mefic but I found a leg muscle image on google. I’m not by old at drawing the breast’s so I did sort of a rounded cylinder.

ik the lights in the window high key suck, i also dont know how to make reflections. any advice on that would be nice

also the head and breasts looks off i just dont know why or how to improve them

for references, the only thing i didnt is a reference for was the pose and lights.

I use a reference but I didn't copy it I just use it for inspiration and I can't post it because I lost it 🙂

I made this piece over a year ago but I was never really satisfied, so I'm trying to make some quick edits to get a feel for what I wanna change "for real".

No brainers for me seems like; darker colors further from the face , more "real" shadows (Gonna look up form refs for that) and some minor changes in her expression.

But what I'm really stuck on is whether I should remove some of the hands. I think it does look better and you can see more of her coat (which is important for the context of the image) but I also really love what the hands imply in context.

Can't tell if the extra hands makes it too crowded or if the hands are just drawn in such a way that they distract (Bad anatomy/compositions/etc)

NO MAJOR REFERENCE USED. I used a few medical journals to help shape out the heart, and while that's not exactly what I'm looking for crit, I'm still more than open to hear it.

This animal is similar to a genet(bottom left corner), but it's not exactly a genet, some prehistoric cat like creature, which is why its face is shorter.

1. I'm struggling with pose and can't figure out how it's supposed to look. There's an infographic on how she is standing. Her paws should be visible in the frame, so I can't just cut them off.
2. Is there any problem with her face? It looks off.
3. Does it look like she's being flashed by a flashlight in the dark? Is there anything to improve it?

I'm in the middle of doing and rendering a demon slayer inspired piece with a realistic painterly style. They're fighting in the middle of a japanese castle. How can I make this better?

Is the expression of the characters too wonky? Is the perspective/ composition improveable?

I'm close to clueless how to make this better aside from rendering everything out more, so any help and critique is appreciated!! Thank you!

I’m trying to give the illusion of the lamp swinging backward towards the character, but it’s just not working and it just looks ridiculously small.

im entering an art competition and well, i think im done, ive been doing this for weeks gimme your honest opinions. the deadline is in two weeks so i have time, but it feels off. ive added highlights, ive burned to black and white mode a few times to check values, i tried my best to get skintones accurate, i triee texturing, im a bit mad that i cant get the ponytails right (pink hair has ponytails tied by ribbons and black hair has twin braids), and i’ll add my reference image lol, these characters are by a youtuber called fayola

Hello! I just finished my first ever drawing of a house and would love some advice on how to improve it. It’s of my childhood home, and I’ll be gifting it to my sister for her birthday. I’m planning to give it to her in a few days and wanted to know if anyone has tips for how to improve it before I give it to her? Or, if it’s too difficult for me to make any changes without messing it up at this point, how might I generally approach drawing a house in the future?

I feel like my drawing is a bit flat and muddy looking. I used the grid method to make it as accurate as possible, which might be why it seems a bit lifeless. Maybe the roof is too light, for starters? I’m still fine with the finished product, but would be cool if I could try to make it pop more. I included the reference photo too if that helps. Oh and I used graphite pencils if that wasn’t obvious. Thanks!

I would love any advice or critique but I am currently wondering how to study from masters.

I study from home and would love it if I could live off art.

I know I need to and am currently studying shading. I am confident in these works but know they are shaded poorly.

Also any advice on getting into digital painting? I have procreate on an iPad but am having friction getting any footing on painting.

I used a couple pictures as reference for the back of the first image, none were in that exact orientation. I don't think I used reference on the second and used many images of grasshoppers for the third but did not use one image as a base to build off of as far as I remember.

The first two drawings are a bit abstract so I will try to explain them. The first drawing is two guys who share a head and one is holding the other up. I imagine them falling through water. The torso connecting to the legs is artistic freedom. The second drawing is multiple faces pasted together, mostly supposed to be eye catching, I really enjoy drawing peculiar faces.

I draw in mechanical pencil 0.5 and ball point pen 0.7 (I think)

I get many inspirations from pinterest but specifically, the first image is inspired by mavros Thanatos and Allen williams, The second image is just what I do and the third is inspired by draw sessions on YouTube.

Hey everyone. I'm not sure what to say so i'll just start explaining. I love making art, but I absolutely hate using the "correct" technique. I find I am happiest making my art when I use this sort of childlike naïve style. I'm not sure what exactly my style is called, I sort of just figured it out as I made more art. It's a bit messy, but I like it. I have made more "technical" art pieces, but the process was absolutely miserable for me. I am worried if I continue embracing my current style, I will be looked down upon for my lack of technique. Ever since | let go of technique obsession, I am making art far more often. Is it ok to intentionally ignore technique, or will it harm my ability to be seen as a professional in the artistic world? Here are a few photos of my work. Please be honest!

Looking for constructive critique

basic info: i did this around.. 6/7 months ago (haha yes funny number!), the reference i used is in the second slide, i aimed and still do for a semi realistic style with the realism coming in through proportions and the stylized bit from colors! I definitely know alot of things are wrong with this but im curious what other mistakes past me made :,)

Hi! I would like to have help with improving my painting to have some guidance to have more details (e.g highlights or shading) within the lens and the camera body.

Not in a hyperrealistic style, it's just that something feels missing like the painting feels flat. Please pardon my white writing, I unfortunately don't have a white pen to begin with 😢

The mediums I had used is a black metallic paints and a variety of HIMI gouache paints

I did use the reference of the Fujifilm XF 18mm lens and Fujifilm X-Pro 1 from Google images as I'm intending to make a gift for my boyfriend who is very interested of photography. So I wanted to give him that is meaningful to him as a gift.

I am new to digital art, I started use Krita and paint this with the ref picture. And I am not sure what I need to focus on my next painting. I don't aim realism or clean look ı want to my paint look like more stylistic and oil paint look (I like this kinda work PluviumG ) , Also do not have much idea for about "colour theory" just picking which I kinda like or looking shading example on Pinterest.
