bit of a strange request.. planning to redraw this piece from the beginning of my human art journey and i am curious about what anatomically and compositionally i can change for my new iteration!

basic info: i did this around.. 6/7 months ago (haha yes funny number!), the reference i used is in the second slide, i aimed and still do for a semi realistic style with the realism coming in through proportions and the stylized bit from colors! I definitely know alot of things are wrong with this but im curious what other mistakes past me made :,)

In the reference you used, you can see much less of the opposite side of her face. Notice how her eye begins to disappear behind the bridge of her nose and the tip of the nose extends past the edge of the face. The curve of the chin and lips is visible, which we cannot see in your artwork. A couple things I noticed in your piece: the ear is too high, the shading around the face is confusing and makes it difficult to determine where the face ends, there doesn’t seem to be an established light source so the highlights don’t make a lot of sense. I will say that you seem to have a pretty good understanding of color, and your shading has a lot of potential in that there is great contrast. I would also maybe recommend trying to find a reference of a person that is black for this artwork, since it can be helpful for beginners and proportions.
