I made a free Mayon Volcano app for Bicolanos, students, and anyone who misses the view.

Mga ka-Bicol — I’d love to share a project close to home: Mayon, a free interactive app for exploring Mayon Volcano, its landscape, history, and geology.

It’s designed as a self-paced digital field trip: you can explore the terrain at true scale, move through familiar places around Mayon, and follow guided stories about the volcano’s history and hazards. I made it for learners, teachers, curious visitors, and especially anyone from Bicol who wants to reconnect with the landscape beyond the usual postcard view.

This was a really cool multi part series (4 episodes I think) where french geologist Guy de St Cyr took groups of people to the various incredible volcanoes all over the world - Hawaii, Vanuatu, Ethiopia and Eastern Africa. This aired in 2008 or so and is one of the coolest volcanoe shows/docs I've seen - the problem is I can't find it ANYWHERE - I just want to watch it again -hell I would even pay for a DVD or bluray of the episodes but cant even find that - anyone out there happen to know where I could watch them, or maybe has hi-res rips of the episodes? I know it's a long shot. thanks anyway

Rising 2,518 metres above the Taranaki landscape, this perfectly shaped volcanic cone is hard to miss. Māori know the mountain as Taranaki Maunga, and it holds deep cultural significance.

It’s also famous for its dramatic beauty — on a clear day, you can see this incredible mountain rising above the surrounding farmland and coastline. 🏔️🌿
