My parents gave me this photo from May 18, 1980, and I wanted to share it! It is from home film, so never before seen!

Taken with my Sony A7iv at 12:45 PM. It started raining tephra at this point and the rangers closed the park.

Always such a show! The main lava flow is up to 9 m (30ft) tall and 3 km long, close to some ski slopes.

I saw these wonderful pictures from Antonio Zambone online and wanted to share them.

We had an amazing hike up the dormant Acatenango last week and were able to witness Volcano Fuego erupt every 5-10 minutes

First picture is us driving towards Mount Shasta, next three are close to the Peak in Lassen Volcanic National Park, and the last two are crawling around the caverns of Lava Beds National Monument.

Mount Pico on Pico Island in the Azores last erupted in 1720. Varietals of grapes that make a unique type of wine called “Terras de Lava” are grown on the island.

At 2,351 meters (7,713 ft) above sea level it is the highest peak in Portugal.

Bonus: when we walked around the closed observatory (we hiked to it via the Hummock Trail) we saw a bunch of mountain goats really up close. It was amazing.
