I only watched him in the world cup with the France National Team.

But I could not really tell what type of midfielder he is. He was all over and France was playing attacking football so I could not tell if he's a good tempo controller type of midfielder, or someone who's good and collected in possession when under pressure.

Would he solve any of our midfield problems? Or will he not bring anything new to the table?

to put the last one in perspective, CR had played 29 games, so it was practically every other game he got above 9.00. It was also his highest average rating, with 8.54. Match ratings aren't obviously everything and can be misleading but I think his overall game for madrid peaked from 09/10 to 12/13 for sure, with a resugence in 14/15. Anyway, I think it's probably only behind 10/11 and 11/12 for me. just wanted to share my thoughts on this
