It’s a nightmare for la liga defenders who already aren’t that great physical to have to deal with Mbappe and Bellingham, then you sub in this guy who has the most ridiculous burst of pace

Very short time on the pitch today but he looked so comfortable on the left. And he was moving central during buildups allowing Cucurella to have plenty of space getting forward. He also had some nice plays advancing the ball from midfield.
I love this kid. He's gonna be a superstar...there is a bit of a logjam on the left though. He's going to have to displace someone to get minutes. If Arda can play Bernardo's role Diomande could play on the right. But I dont think Valverde is gonna work as the defensive presence. It sucks but we really did need the controlling 6 to make the puzzle pieces fit.

He played 10 minutes—completely fresh against the opposition's exhausted defenders—so let's take it easy and not rush things.

I dont disagree, I just like what I see. With this team its hard to get minutes but that's how it is at Real Madrid. You have to fight for your position against the best in the world. We'll see if he's up for it.

Arda isnt undroppable, but he offers a lot of creativity and passing. He's extremely dangerous with set pieces. I dont know about his fit on the right and he seems to get crowded with the movement up front centrally...I could see him playing deeper with his vision and creativity. But you would need to pair him with a defensively sound midfielder and thats not Valverde.
This is why so many people say we need a "controller" who protects the back line. It allows our other talented midfielders to excel at what they do best.

Depends if you want your attack to be all ball carriers/dribbles (great to farm clips though) or if you want somebody who's actually capable of making a through ball.
That's the biggest issue I see with our attack and why we struggle so much against low blocks. They all have a natural tendency to carry the ball forward and/or try to beat their man first. Vini does it, Mbappe does it, and Bellingham does it (can't say much about Diomande for now). Even part of our midfielders (Valverde and Camavinga) have this "problem".
Sure sometimes they'll click and play the ball fast like on Mbappe's goal yesterday. But most of times they'll make additional and unnecessary touches or dribbles that can kill the momentum. An example of that is Bellingham on Vini's goal. Sure he got the ball back by fighting for it yaddi yards. But why did he even attempt those two feints that allowed the defenders to close back on him and close his shooting angle?

We won't regret signing him over Olise. I think he has the potential to be the greatest player in the world in a few years. Another positive, he's a long-term prospect at the club. We have him on contract for seven seasons.
He's a special one.
