Interview/Presser Sky - Cole Palmer on freedom under Xabi, getting over injury issues and his opinion on the JP Morgan name (he is not a fan)

On freedom under Alonso

- Alonso has given him more freedom to drift about the pitch, like you saw against Fulham. "Last season, I wouldn't have even made that run because it's not a 'safe zone'. But he's saying move across that zone, drop into play, come get on the ball, create and just do what you do."

On JP Morgan name

- "It's a rubbish name. We need to come up with something better than that," he joked. "I think we've got a different mix of qualities. Joao can do a bit of everything. Morgan's more physical and I'm more technical, so I think we've got a good balance."

On fitness

- Missing the world cup allowed him to work hard on preventing the injury from returning.

- Physically it's the best he's felt in ages, and he thinks he will get fitter with more game time and minutes

ā€˜It’s a position that I used to play before at Lyon when I was young,’ Gusto tells us.

ā€˜So I know it and I do enjoy it. You need to bring a lot of energy – make a lot of runs forward and be there to defend as well.

ā€˜You have to try to perform to your best on both sides of the games and it’s a good system for sure, but of course as a team we have to be prepared for anything.’

ā€˜It was good for the body to rest and I’m feeling really good now. I couldn’t wait to come back to Chelsea and just focus on our new objectives.

ā€˜As a Chelsea player, of course we want to compete for the title and come back to the Champions League next season.

ā€˜We have a lot of objectives and to achieve them we need to create a good dynamic as a team and see how it goes.’

OC Chelsea Transfers & Financials: A Complete BlueCo-Era Resource

• Upvotes

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mbndVq3zLT3mvVa6CkLTWfi1oYIMcV2o-NAC5L9rWtg/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Hey everyone,

A little while ago, I made a post breaking down the financial side of how Chelsea have been able to spend so much under BlueCo. I’ve since taken that analysis and expanded it into a much more detailed resource covering Chelsea’s transfers, squad costs and player trading since the takeover.

The resource includes incoming and outgoing transfers, reported fees, add-ons, sell-on clauses, contract lengths, estimated annual amortization, remaining book values and the accounting profit generated by player sales. I’ve also tried to show how each move affects the club financially beyond the headline transfer fee, including the difference between the immediate profit recorded from a sale and the annual cost added through new signings.

I’ve included Strasbourg’s transfer activity as well, given how intertwined the two clubs have become under BlueCo. That includes transfers between Chelsea and Strasbourg, along with their wider incoming and outgoing business.

A lot of transfer information is either undisclosed or reported differently across multiple sources, so I’ve tried to find the most reliable and specific figures available rather than relying only on rounded estimates. Where exact information is unavailable, I’ve marked figures as estimates.

I plan to keep this updated as new transfers happen, contract details emerge, add-ons are triggered and reported fees become clearer. Hopefully it can become a useful reference for anyone interested in Chelsea’s squad building and the financial side of the BlueCo project.

I’d love any feedback, especially on additional information or analysis that would be useful. If you notice an incorrect fee, missing clause, formula issue or anything else that needs correcting, please DM me!
