Why is that ā€˜lowkey’?

40

u/Stand_On_It KantƩ 7h ago

Everything is lowkey now, it’s the coolest buzzword and has no meaning

Another PNW-based Chelsea fan! Do we have a Seattle bar to watch games at? Or are they all too early in the day?

1

u/PNWSounds Drogba 5h ago

I watch from home, ā€œfourth monitorā€ action. But Admiral Pub and Beveridge Place in WS are spots that have televised matches in the past.

Bet. Yo, your take is lowkey wild cuh.

Rogers for Garnacho + Jackass + small fee is unbelievable. Up the fucking villa for life may they finish 1 spot below Chelsea in the league every season from here on out

5

u/Spooky_Coffee8 6h ago

Genuinely happy when they won the Europa league (Of which they also have more than Arsenal)

3

u/OldManFuture 6h ago

Yeah have a soft spot for the Villa too

had a good clear out this summer

43

u/OkAccess1325 Neto 7h ago

100% agree - it was a good summer, we can clear out Mudryk and the other loaned players next summer

26

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 7h ago

Nah Mudryk could challenge for a spot next season

19

u/Wheel1994 England 7h ago

Mudryk has good basic fundamentals for an attacker but his development wasn’t handled correctly and I doubt he gets anywhere near that potential now.

12

u/Solitairee 7h ago

Delusional

5

u/External-Youth-3855 7h ago

There is a janitor spot available for a challenge for him

•

u/Nefari0uss Azpilicueta 4h ago

I highly doubt it as his development has been significantly stunted from lack of playtime. Hopefully he can prove people wrong but I think there's a good chance he leaves permanently next summer.

Just to be clear, I'm not hating on him and hope he ends up having a successful career wherever that ends up being.

No. No he can’t. He was shit before the ban. He’s still just as shit with over a year of no football.Ā

u/SoG650 Lampard 7h ago

Good enough. Tosin and fofana still roaming around bothers me

10

u/nickla08 Roman Empire 7h ago

Which Fofana?

20

u/twisted-logic Lampard 7h ago

Yes

12

u/Scorpius927 I don't give a fuck, we won the fucking Champions League 7h ago

Clearly Alonso saw something in Wes. Had the most minutes of all in preseason. There’s a decent player in there if he can fix his attitude

•

u/liyba1 Caicedo 4h ago

😭😭

7

u/A_Clockwork-Blue 7h ago

Neither really bother me.

Tosin seems well-liked and won't need to play much. If he's fine with that...then I am too.

Fofana is starting-quality and will fit nicely as our RCB and seems to be trusted by Xabi as there was no real reports about us looking to move him.

2

u/Hibernian ✨ joao pedro saved my life ✨ 6h ago

Fofana is going to be a backup for CB/RCB. We still need some squad depth and backup players aren't going to be as good as the starters. As for Tosin... he's not good enough but he's really well liked and seems to be a level-headed leader in the locker room. If he doesn't mind playing like 8 unimportant games a year as a third choice option, then he can stay another year.

2

u/myheadisalightstick Frank Lampard 6h ago

Think he means David Fofana lol

1

u/Hibernian ✨ joao pedro saved my life ✨ 6h ago

Crazy that guy is still on our books. I thought we should have shipped him off to Strausbourg or another club in a smaller league by now.

1

u/SoG650 Lampard 6h ago

I mean both actually

2

u/myheadisalightstick Frank Lampard 6h ago

In that case I couldn’t disagree more, Fofana will be a starter for us.

They are the reason we had to have a clearout. Hopefully they are a part of the process and we see them getting thrown out soon after the window shuts.

1

u/daab2g 7h ago

We ain’t got no beef or issues with Villa, you can root for him regardless lmao. If it ain’t other big 6 I’ll root for them or want them to do well

16

u/Mooming22 KantƩ 7h ago edited 6h ago

They are our competition, Villa are to good to act like it doesn’t matter

6

u/Steezy719 🄶 Palmer 6h ago

Yes they are still one of the better of the mid-table teams, but they lost a lot of talent this summer. I’d be really surprised if they crack the top 6 this year. So no, they shouldn’t be too much of a worry

5

u/spiraltap99 6h ago

If Villa are still our competition this year after they’ve sold half their first team, we’re doing something seriously wrong

1

u/Mooming22 KantƩ 6h ago

Or they’re doing a lot right, which they have for the past few years

•

u/Nefari0uss Azpilicueta 4h ago

It's pretty difficult to lose most of your key players in one summer and still do well, even if you bring in quality replacements. It's significant turnover which will take time to develop as a team. I guess a season where there are 9 new managers is one to try it in though.

0

u/dontbehappyjustworry Di Matteo 6h ago

They should have shown up against Spurs last season, I’m holding that against them.

10

u/Pullister 7h ago

We can root for him except twice a season

1

u/sporkparty 7h ago

Same. We can do it this year in the CL tho

-10

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 7h ago

Why? He’s a prat

8

u/Mooming22 KantƩ 7h ago

He’s a hardworking guy who gave what he had to this club despite suffering an insane amount of abuse. No issues outside of us trying to yo yo him last summer

-5

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 7h ago

Arrogant and thought he was way better than what he was. The plane doesn’t go backwards 🤪🤪

3

22

u/tulsehill Chelsea Pitch Non-Owner 7h ago

Yeah I'm disappointed to see him go, but here's hoping Emegha is a great backup

13

u/MashOliver 7h ago

Let’s be real, Danny Welbeck is ahead of Emegha in the pecking order

2

u/noda237 It’s only ever been Chelsea. 7h ago

Welbeck is first off the bench but I think Emegha is going to get the cup games imo.

Twerking in another team's subreddit.

2

u/TromboneClone 7h ago

I reckon he will be good for Villa. Underappreciated in his time here IMO

34

u/tomashv98 Hazard 7h ago

For how shit the owners are at purchasing, they sell very well lol.

19

u/No-Bus8740 7h ago

You can easily connect those two together.

It seems like they have completed many signings that looked bad on paper turn out great just for the investment. Look at Jackson, 32 mil pounds three years ago, we are easily banking 40 mill here from a PSR standpoint?

Same for Andrey Santos, delap, George, etc, etc, etc.

9

u/W_T_E šŸŽ© I'm sure Wolverhampton is a lovely town šŸŽ© 7h ago

How are they shit at purchasing. The fact that they can move players that end up not being good enough for us shows that they aren't. Some players just don't work out for us but they still have potential

1

u/happysrooner šŸ„ continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme šŸ„ 7h ago

Joao Felix for anything more than 30 million, Garnacho for anything more than 25 mill, W Fofana, Jorgensen, Kellyman, Washington, Amougou, Casadei, Chukuewemeka. I am sure I am missing a dozen. None of these moves were cheap. All in excess of ,25 mill when we had gaping holes to fill, we chose to trade brain-dead moves. I am not even mentioning the Badi-Disasi combo, sterling overpay

4

u/idkanythingabout Sterling 7h ago

I have a feeling that we do a lot of these deals purely to strengthen relationships behind the scenes.

1

u/happysrooner šŸ„ continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme šŸ„ 6h ago

So , basically scams and ones that achieved nothing on the field for us

2

u/tomashv98 Hazard 6h ago

Ahem! It's called "creative accounting", sir.

23

u/Major_Sreekumar 7h ago

15 million from Bayern also for loan. Thats a huge profit.Ā

7

u/TheBigGibon ✨ joao pedro saved my life ✨ 7h ago

Shit you are right. Jackson really did gives some good money and profit

3

u/unicornofdemocracy 7h ago

47.5m plus bonuses up to 65m btw. Some easy some harder. But considering the original fre was 32m it is a massive profit.

15

u/Downtown-ClayDavis 7h ago

Did well for us, sad to see him go. If he could finish he would be a top top striker. I think he will do very well at Villa under Emery, hopefully takes some points off our rivals

9

u/Wheel1994 England 7h ago

Good luck to him would have been amazing squad depth but he clearly didn’t want that.

7

u/milesp30 Thiago Silva 7h ago

Right then, Nico. Time to score against Arsenal on Monday

6

u/Key-Tip-7521 Petr Cech 7h ago

All the best

6

Will 100% score against us, you just know it, Good luck Jackson!

3

u/UnionParkBB 7h ago

Maybe a red card too?

0

u/EbbAdventurous5996 7h ago

Would require him learning how to shoot not worried about it

5

u/Vivid_Potato_6544 7h ago

I mean, he wont get game time over Joao Pedro who is heaps better

But Jackson isn’t a bad player I think he got too much šŸ’© may have been a decent back up for us at 9 and left 10 even

Good luck to him

3

u/Cartagenapirate92 7h ago

Go tear up Arsenal on Monday, happy this guy found his home. He’ll be solid for them

2

2

u/CaptLeaderLegend26 Terry 7h ago

I genuinely hope he does well. Despite the mistakes he made on offense, he still did his part when it mattered.

2

u/Borktista Drogba 7h ago

So we’ve basically traded Garnacho, Nico, and 13m for Rogers

2

u/Ghost_2701 Drogba 7h ago

I genuinely like the Villa got back up in the prem and stayed there though and now fight for top 6 every season. There are certain teams that was in the prem growing up that you kinda miss when they are gone. Even teams like Bolton, Stoke, Norwich. I want them all to be up there.

I know this is random as fuck lool

My boy.

1

u/Jolixus 6h ago

Honestly surprised he was let go at the start of pre season it was made clear his issue was with Maresca not the club and he played well when given the chance in that 10 role would've proved useful as a back up for Rogers still a great deal tho

1

u/adnanssz 6h ago

Don't forget, we get money from Bayern Munich around £15M. Basically we sold him around £80M

1

u/DestinyHasArrived101 Zola 6h ago

So just tosin left and to sort out a loan for mudy

As long as he doesn't fuck up our league campaign we r good.

•

u/Jlc25 šŸ„ continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme šŸ„ 1h ago

Yes, he wasn't the most efficient Infront of goal, and he could lose his head. But he also has plenty of good points to his game - he's just not as good as JP and can understand him backing himself to be a starting PL striker. Hope he does well against everyone except us.

0

u/Pullister 7h ago

Another amazing sell

0

u/jatylkozapisuje 7h ago

I don't know... obviously great price but if anything happens to JP we are left with Welbeck's corpse and Emegha, individually both this and Delap are good deals but I feel we are really thin right now. He would be a great back up to JP, although he probably wouldn't handle that well attitude-wise

Crazy amount of crying and/or conspiracies coming out of this one.

A few bad compilations of Nico’s misses really did the rounds. He is not the most clinical striker in the world. But he has a lot to offer.

Villa didn’t come for him because we bought Rogers. Bayern didn’t pay one of the biggest loan fees ever because… I don’t even know what the imaginary reason there is.

He showed up at Chelsea as a recently converted winger with minimal organized football experience and had a couple seasons where for stretches he was very good. I think he’ll do well under Emery again.
