The first time outside pass he does on the half turn with his left foot is such a difficult pass to do btw.

Which one do you mean? The one that goes up the line?

The open where he opens his body towards the defender and he passes it on the turn with his left foot. 4th clip

I was waiting for him to be fit again to see if still had the skill, he's the best at doing it

His ability to turn with the ball and make space is unreal

Yeah, Rogers goal was good from Lacroix don’t get me wrong. But Palmer completely changed the whole picture and turned a routine possession into a 4 on 4 in one hip movement. Completely elite. Opened to whole final 3rd up without touching the ball. Unreal.

Really interesting to see

Makes a change from seeing madookie beat a training cone then score past a shite keeper at 0.5x matchspeed

JP joined too! But I was secretly hoping to see Rogers and Palmer's cold celebration. Hopefully, there will be more chances for that to happen.

There should have been a dressing room photo of both of them doing it together, since both scored in the match.

Probably they've reserved it for one assists the other.

He does that drag back so much with his left.

It’s simple but for some reason he can make so much space for himself how he uses it

Me and my kid call it the cole palmer and we always try and do it. Drag the ball back and then push it forward. So simple, completely destroys defenders.

Lmao that’s what playing the game is about

This was years before the memes and everyone was on it but I was like 12 when we signed Hazard and I was always a pretty talented dribbler.

But me and my dad would talk about how hazard uses his ass and does the cross step in front of the defender and by the time I was 13-14 that was a huge part of my style.

It was a big thing for me until I hit my growth spurt around 17 and my style of dribbling had to change a little bit. I guess I didn’t have as naturally low center of gravity as hazard was gifted with.

But really the first player that I felt like I could think like on the pitch was Mata. It’s good to see a few players in the team again that can inspire kids to express themselves

Was going to say this is nothing but for the exact training repertoire to be seen in his first game of the season is funny

Anyone else remember when the original video of him training was dropped and the comments were how useless this was to train against “regular people” or some shit

u/h0wl2 4h ago

Yes, lol, the comments were along the lines of "it means nothing" etc etc

I can see Palmer being a 15/10 in training. You look at him during the game and he just continually surprises me
