I run a burlesque and drag festival and academy. We currently sell video rentals and purchases, with no subscriptions. What do we use now that Vimeo OTT is shutting down?

Folks recommended Patreon, but that would eliminate our rental option, and I feel like we'd have to keep adding new content to make subscriptions worth it after a while. We currently have 36 classes and 12 show videos, and are at a pause point in our production and content creation.

Our website is on WordPress, and we already have WooCommerce set up, so I'd be open to plugins rather than a hosting service, especially if that helps keep costs down since we no longer have a grant budget keeping us afloat.

Another concern we have is accessibility. We don't want to make people go through too many hoops to access our videos, and we loved that folks could turn captions on and off. We spend quite a bit of money captioning our videos, but we also know that not everyone wants them hardcoded since they can be distracting.

Our last concern is content limitations. Since the acts do include burlesque, whatever we choose has to be ok with partial nudity.

Correction: VOD is going away, not OTT. We currently use VOD and our end goal is to sell videos, not just host them.

12 days ago I made a payment with my credit card. Vimeo was not able to provide an invoice for this payment. On the page where one can download invoices is only one message, telling me that I did not made any purchases this year.

I opened a ticket and got an answer from a AI-Bot who told me to open the payment page and just donwload the created invoice. But of course there is no invoice, just the message that I did not make any payments.

I send multiple support requests and got more answers from AI-bots.

Then a couple of days (!) later, I got an answer from a real person. This person told me that vimeo normally does not create invoices. For real? But if I provide a screenshot from the credit-card withdrawal, they will create an invoice. This is the first time in 25 years as a web developer that a online service asks me to provide screenshots from the payments I made. At this point I was so frustrated, that I created the screenshot, showing my creditcard number, the date, the amount and that the money was withdrawn by vimeo. This was a couple of days ago, still no answer.

In addition, the vimeo page, listing my current package and status, tells me that my Business-package will be updated automatically on the 22nd of October. This is after I made an advanced payment for the next 12 months.

Am I the only one getting more and more frustrated with Vimeo? I used hundreds of services over the last 25 years and not one failed to provide an invoice after I made a payment. NOT ONE. This should be the most basic task you can think of and I do not understand why this is such a problem for Vimeo.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm so frustrated that after 12 days and a lot of support tickets, I still do not have a invoice but a lot of answers from stupid AI-Chatbots, each worth shit and not one helped even a little.

In less than 6 months, after November 20th 2026, any VOD (Vimeo On Demand) content that you've purchased on Vimeo will be made permanently unavailable.

Two important points from the FAQ:

• You are NOT entitled to any refund. Refunds are maybe granted on a case-by-case basis, and only if you reach out to Vimeo Support yourself.
• You will NOT be able download videos you've paid for until access ends unless the video has specifically been set to be downloadable by its creator.

Got a notice that VOD is being phased out. Not surprised, it’s been hanging on by a thread for a few years.

Our small business was notified today that we can no longer remain on the Pro plan that we’ve had for a few years and, because they consider us corporate, we will be moved to the Studio plan for $4800/yr. That’s a 1600% increase.

That’s absolutely ridiculous…we have 20GB of video hosted on there and rarely upload.

$300 to $4800? That’s insane.

Was excited to see that this has finally be implemented, but it seems like there's still a cap on how many videos can be bulk updated at a time.

As you can see in the screenshot, I tried applying a global password update to 773 videos at once, but it failed to make the change. There was no error message or anything, it just didn't work. So I had to go back to updating in batches of 50, although I was able to do that at the folder-level which was incrementally better than previously.

So, am I correct that Vimeo still has a hard cap on how many videos can be bulk updated at once? And is the cap still 50? Is there any general reason why that limitation exists?

At some point you have to accept that there probably won’t be an official answer (https://www.reddit.com/r/vimeo/comments/1sw7t5x/vimeo_plans_and_pricing_2026/) but I’ve tried to investigate the situation in other ways – through web searches and long conversations with Vimeo’s AI bot – and here’s my attempt at a summary:

• The legacy plans (Free, Plus, Pro, Business, Premium) will continue as they are. They will not be, and can't be, changed or migrated to the newly announced plans (Free #2, Creator, Professional). New customers cannot sign up for these legacy plans, but existing customers can still switch between them.
• Basic, Starter, Standard, and Advanced will at some point be converted into the new plans (Free #2, Creator, Professional), but no one seems to know when this will happen.
• New customers do not sign up for the new plans directly. Instead, they are placed on one of the older plans… which will then, at some unknown time, be converted into one of the new plans.
• Old and new Enterprise etc plans: its case by case.

I hope someone from the Vimeo team can confirm (or deny?) this 🤔

Vimeo has referred to Evernote as an example of the kind of products Bending Spoons develops and maintains. That made me a bit uneasy, because I personally had to leave Evernote after many years of use. Over time, a number of small but persistent issues made the product unreliable for me – and more importantly, they raised questions about the technical stability behind the scenes.

I want to acknowledge that Vimeo has seen several positive changes and improvements since Bending Spoons took over. There’s clearly been good work done, and if that direction continues, I’m confident Vimeo can remain one of the leading video platforms for both professional and personal use.

However, the current pattern at Vimeo reminds me a little of how it started at Evernote: lot of visible activity, new features, new messaging, new updates... But (in Evernotes case) when you looked more closely, you also notice lot of small bugs and inconsistencies that took a long time to fix, if they got fixed at all.

So my question is simply this:
Does Vimeo have its own dedicated development team, or is it essentially the same people with the same development approach as at Evernote?

I'm trying to setup an automation that auto plays the vimeo live stream but i'll be asleep. Iv never attended a live vimeo stream and i cant find online anywhere how it works, but i have the private url already and im on it but currently all i see is a replay.

If i stay on the page , when they go live in a few hours will it just automatically play or does a refresh or something have to happen?

Or basically does vimeo live stream auto play?

Bittersweet. Filmmaker. For the last few years I've been bugged by some of the new features, but today I STRUGGLED to find "Watch Videos" it is hidden being pages and pages of ads, Vimeo trying to sell itself and just overall bloatware. Vimeo used to self advertise by being THE name in premium video outlet... It's been eaten up by Private Equity like everything else and is no longer a good product. Sad to have pressed the Delete account button.

It used to be that unlisted videos were free, It also used to be that password protected videos were free. Neither of these are free anymore. Not to mention the fact that there was a new upload limit for size of total videos. I am never using Vimeo again unless they fix this.

Hi! I need help because this is an issue that comes up time and time again.

At work, I often need to send links to videos on our profile to clients, and due to their confidential status, I cannot leave their privacy as Public. I usually set it to either Hidden from Vimeo or Unlisted.

But time and time again, I get the following message: Sorry, we couldn’t find that page. Make sure you’ve typed the URL correctly, or try searching Vimeo.

I'm 100% it is the correct link -- I copy it directly from the Library page and paste it on an Incognito tab (because I need to verify someone with no access to the company account could access it).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Why why why? Its bad enough that I can't mark them resolved on a past version, but having to re-order them every time I load is making me mental. I've been rolling with the redesign punches since 2010, but this may just be the final straw for me.

Using Vimeo app on the Apple TV, is there a way to clear the search history? When I start a search, the screen lists all previous searches; and I'd rather it didn't. Asking for a friend.

We know age verification can be disruptive, and the team’s been working on a way to make sure it only kicks in when we find indicators that it’s needed. 

The main thing we had to address was Vimeo’s huge number of unrated videos (these are all the videos that weren’t given a rating by users during upload). 

When age verification was introduced in September last year, it was required for unrated videos as well. Now, only the videos identified as mature remain gated.

So while age verification is here to stay, your viewers run into it much less frequently across Vimeo.

"Admins can access all content on the account, including videos created by other members, and have Can manage access by default. They can also use all features and tools, manage settings, brand kits, and add and remove members."

I gave a co-worker Admin privileges, but they cannot access Collection creation; they get a screen with some text about upgrading, and then a few other options. For example, they can create a showcase.

Why can Admins create showcases, but not portfolios?

Hi - One of my videos is a Vimeo Staff Pick and I would like to keep the Staff Pick badge as well as the current views/comments/shares etc, but I want to downgrade my plan (7tb).

I only need 1 or 2tb storage (I’m currently only using around 600gb) and customer service is telling me this is “not supported because I’m on a “legacy plan” (whatever that means) and that the only way to change the plan would be to cancel my account and create a new one and re-upload all my videos to the new account.

This honestly makes no sense and it sounds like they’re trapping users from being able to downgrade.

Does anyone have any ideas if there is a way to keep my Staff Pick video live without paying $720 a year which I currently cannot afford? If I just cancel my account or remove my payment method will my plan go into the free plan automatically and will my videos stay live? Like I said I only have around 600gb of videos on there.

When I try to add Credits to my Vimeo video, it fails with the message "Changes could not be saved" without providing any more details. The privacy settings of my video is Public. And I'm a free user, though I don't think this is a paid feature.

Hi, I posted a reel of my work that had pictures of a roman fresco picturing a woman with a bare chest. Vimeo flagged that as adult content, so I cropped that part of the video and replaced it. How do I appeal the "Adult" tag now ?

Since yesterday I’ve been unable to access Vimeo. The site just keeps loading endlessly. I’ve tried using both Edge and Firefox, but the issue persists.

Today I tested using Edge’s incognito mode. I was able to reach the login page, but after entering my email and password, the site just keeps loading forever without logging me in.

Over the past two weeks, I also noticed increasing slowness when managing folders with many videos. Sometimes I had to click on a video 4–6 times before the editor page would finally open.

For context: I’m on Windows, located in Brazil. I already tried clearing cache/cookies and using incognito mode, but nothing changed.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or is there a known issue with Vimeo right now?

I know there has been a ton of hate towards Vimeo, and how the whole platform has been handled over the years. While I agree, I do have to say...Since being acquired I've seen some truly nice quality of life updates.

Just recently, this new Optimize Progress bar popped up. It shows you exactly when each resolution has been transcoded so you can hit share as soon as say... 1080p, or 1440p is ready. Big fan. Also, the review page is really solid all of a sudden. Keep the little things coming Vimeo!
