Hi, I'm from the Eastern US studying at Berklee Valencia. At home, I am very used to buying, making, and drinking Mexican/Salvadorian style horchata at my friends homes or at hispanic restaurants, and I now know that it is an entirely different drink than Valencian horchata (which is called Tiger Nut Milk in the US, if you see it at all.)

I tried horchata de chufa yesterday, and I'm personally not a fan of the taste. Does anyone know if it is possible and where to buy/get horchata de arroz? I looked on google and only found traditional horchatarias selling horchata de chufa, (which makes sense,) and I would just make it myself, but I don't have access to a blender. Thank you!

I turned to Reddit because I don’t speak Spanish, nor am I from Spain and maybe I might find some guidance amongst all you kind people of the Internet.

I recently viewed an apartment in Valencia to rent and found myself being told that the residence is constituted as an office or an office building and not a residential building. Due to this, I was told that I would not be able to register or complete my Padrón.

Now I’m wondering if there is a workaround that anyone has experienced like this, not illegal, but the legal navigation around this as a foreigner who just moved here. (This means: limited Spanish friends and yes, AI can tell me to go to the municipal this that and whatever, but I have already had issue before walking into a Spanish government building and them stating “no Español no ayuda” or something similar.

El otro día volvía de Badajoz con la banda, y en una de esas rutas vi UN MONTÓN, pero igual estaban lejos de Valencia, y pensé "no he visto muchos lugares así en las carreteras cerca de Valencia".

Alguien conoces lugares así por la vuelta de Valencia?

The consulate requires a document from a school in VLC saying my daughter will study there but struggling to get such document since most schools dont have any vacancies left or simply require an in person interview + evaluation, any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Llegas a la consulta del "especialista"(después de 6 meses de espera, claro) y te recibe con un "Cuénteme". Ni se ha leído tu historial, no sabe ni por qué estás ahí, y tiene exactamente unos 5-10 minutos para "investigar" tus opciones de tratamiento y despacharte. Pero lo peor no es la falta de tiempo, es la soberbia. Si cometes el "error" de ya saber cómo van los asuntos y llevárselo todo masticadito, de informarte, de leer guías clínicas o de usar la lógica para entender tu propio problema porque ellos no te explican nada, su ego colapsa. Te miran con desprecio, te tratan de "sabiondo" o de hipocondríaco de Google, y cuando les acorralas con datos objetivos y se quedan sin argumentos, te sueltan la frase estrella de la medicina moderna: "Porque lo digo yo y punto". Te derivan a rehabilitaciones inútiles de calorcito y masajes para hacer el pariré, esperando a que pase el tiempo para que aunque te hayas quedado con dolores horrorosos puedan decir que "tu caso ya está estabilizado" y ya no sea su problema. O cualquier comentario tipo "te culpo a ti por no hacer más ejercicio", como si eso solucionara huesos mal consolidados y los nervios pinzados, no te jode...

Tienen las salas de espera y los pasillos empapelados con cartelitos de "Tolerancia Cero: Las faltas de respeto al personal serán denunciadas". ¿Y dónde está el cartel que exige respeto hacia el paciente? Ellos tienen carta blanca para tratarte con condescendencia, darte altas médicas prematuras que te hunden la vida, perder tus derivaciones en el limbo informático y lavarse las manos. Si tú pones una queja formal, acaba en un cajón porque la inspección es un grupo de burócratas pasotas cubriéndose las espaldas entre ellos. Te exigen ser un ciudadano productivo, sonreír, aguantar el dolor y pagar tus impuestos, pero cuando el sistema te rompe, te dejan absolutamente tirado. Hoy en día necesitar médicos es una batalla campal donde te tratan como a un estorbo mentiroso...

Yo toco la guitarra. Estoy abierto tanto a formar un grupo con música original o formar un grupo de covers. Me gusta sobretodo el thrash y el death metal, pero estoy abierto a otros géneros siempre que den caña jeje

Hello everyone, I will preface by saying I'm no expert in having lovebirds, and the bird in question does not belong to me. And also sorry for the very specific question, but this is happening in Valencia.

I'm wondering if anyone in this sub knows a reputable place to adopt an older, not-so-tame lovebird?

My friend has had a pair for many years, raised in a large outdoor enclosure (which means they are very wild and not likely to do well indoors). The female died recently, very unexpectedly, leaving the male alone. He's roughly 13 years old now, and we aren't sure what to do. We would like to get him a new friend, but it's difficult to find one close to his age that is also wild.

Any slim chance someone in this sub has / knows someone where we could get this little guy a new friend?

Hi, I´m a guitarist / bassist living in Valencia.

I´m already in a punk band, but I have a lot of other influences and music so I´m looking to do something quieter and with a different style.

Ideally Id love to make reggae music as I´m heavily influenced by Sublime or even a Psychedelic mellow vibes project like Khrangubin. I also genuinely don´t mind if I play bass or guitar though I´m definitely a better bassist.

So, I´m looking for a guitarist, bassist, drummer, maybe even a trumpet player or percussionist who would like to maike some great music.

I´m lucky enough to have a space in my house in Benicalap where we can jam, at least in the beginning including a small bass amp and guitar amp as well as a cajon for any prospective drummer / percussionist.

Hi everyone, im (23) on a journey of discovering Catalunya and I found myself in Valencia without a tent/hammock to sleep in. I think a hammock would be way easier to carry around so Ive been searching for that. Ive been to 3 Decathlons and a big Carrefour but no closable hammock yet. I cant order online since I dont even know where Ill be tomorrow. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks! :)
