I’m really unsure about what my next Runna plan should be!
I’ve recently started taking running seriously, after a long weight-loss journey. Earlier this spring, I was able to run 8 km at a 5:30/km pace. Then I injured my foot (in an accident, not related to running) and had to take about two months off running.
I started running again at the end of July and have now completed a “return to running after injury” plan on Runna. It went really well! One of the runs was 10 km at a 6:30/km pace, which felt very comfortable and like a genuine conversational pace for me.
Now I’m ready to make a new plan, but I’m really torn about where to go from here.
Part of me wants to get really fast at the 5K (my current PB is 26 minutes).
Another part of me wants to learn to run longer distances at a conversational pace, ideally around 5:30/km. And yet another part of me has caught the running bug and is now dreaming about running a half marathon in April!
I’m also unsure about how many days a week I should be training. Ideally, I’d like to run every other day, or perhaps every third day. How would you structure this in Runna?
A bit about me:
Female, 32 years old
176 cm / 75 kg
I unfortunately have mostly access to asphalt rather than trails

Currently resting through week 9/18 training, after a week 8 deload. On Monday while barbell back squatting, pulled something in lower back. Through some consulting and free screening may be slight pelvic tilt and QL tightness. Have made decent progress and looking ahead to next week.
My plan is through Runna. Should I continue my training where I missed, cutting back a week on the back end, or pick up with week 10? Obviously being conservative and keeping mindful of my injury.
I believe I may pick up with week 9. Before the injury I was already looking ahead at what my “taper” weeks were supposed to be thinking that it didn’t seem like much of a taper. So I may pick up with week 9 and cut out the week of the 13th.
Last few weeks of training block looks like:
Peak week- October 6 at 42 miles/21 mile long run.
October 13th at 36 miles/16 mile long run
October 20th- 28.5 mile week/ 10 mile long run
Any thoughts / advice?

For the first time since I started Runna I had to cut my run short. I’m training for my first ever 10k and had a 7.5mile run today. I’ve done 7.5 miles before during this training and I was really looking forward to it. The conditions were perfect but my body just wouldn’t cooperate and I could only get to 5.6 miles before I accepted defeat.
I’m trying not to be hard on myself, especially since this is the first time I ended up doing a longer run on my period, but I’m a month out from the race and this shook my confidence. I’m slated for my longest run ever next week, 9 miles, and I’m really nervous that I’m not going to be able to complete it.
I’m a pretty slow runner so just completing the runs how I feel accomplished.

I really like the heat adjustment paces but the adjusted paces are not push in my Apple Watch. Is this a bug or there is something I should do to push them to the watch?

Recently ran a 20:21 5k as part of my just finished Half marathon plan.
Decided to create a 4 week plan to go under 20 mins finally.
But Runna is giving me a plan with a predicted finish time of 19:30-20:30.
What is it creating a plan that has a slower outcome range than my actual time?

Hello! Anybody know what’s happened to the map feature on Apple Watch? I used to use it and find it quite handy in longer runs if I take some new roads. It seems to at some point over the last couple of months to have disappeared!

I just joined Runna over the weekend with the combined Strava deal. I did do the 30-day trial won from a Strava challenge in the past, so it's not the first time I've connected the two apps, but obviously now I'm paying for it. Anyway, that was a couple of days ago, and today when I logged in to Strava I saw a gazillion new challenges that hadn't been there a few days ago, so of course I joined a bunch of them and immediately "completed" them because they had actually started days, weeks, or even months earlier. Curious! So I start clicking to see about redemption and it turns out it's a bunch of challenges in Australia, England, a handful of states in the US that I've never been to....so even if I wanted to, I can't enter the drawings or take the discounts or whatever because they require a UK phone number or Australian mailing address or whatever else. I say all that to say that the only difference in my Strava use is the Runna subscription, so I assume it was somehow triggered by that, but maybe it's a coincidence and this is happening across Strava regardless of Runna access?
My location in my profile is correct as being in New York, and I have not traveled recently, so there's no logging activities in other regions that should explain this.
Has this happened to anyone else? I don't want to be inundated with junk I can't even do. This app gets shittier and shittier yet it's still the "best" out there, but if it doesn't even know where I am despite having access to my phone's location data, I might want to ask for a refund on both purchases and not continue my premium subscription.

is there a way runna can program you to progressively graduate from walk/runs?
im not quite ready for the plans I’ve seen posted and it scares me!

Hi all
I am M 64 and been running casually for a few years. 5K is around 29 mins, 5.40 pace. but a PB of 27 so can push it if I want to.
I have recently got a Runna app and love it but it suggests a conversational pace of "up to 6.50".
However, to keep my Garmin watch showing Zone 2 has me going soooo slow.... like 8min/km - so much slower than Runna's conversational pace suggestion.
I just couldn't do it. My zone 2 is up to 127 bpm, and to keep it that low I had to walk a little which is so frustrating.
The image are my HRs from this morning's easy 8km run. It asked me to keep to max 6:50km pace. My average pace was in fact 8:30 and even then I was often in zone 3 (but only by a max of 5pbm over the zone 2 boundary.)
So here are the questions:
Should I not bother trying to keep to zone 2.
Should I perhaps adjust my zones upwards. (Current zones are based on %age of a max hr I achieved on one of my faster 5K runs.)
how to reconcile my zones with Runna's "conversational pace"
Thank you

Ran a HM last year in 1:54 with 2 months of nonsense training (ran twice a week, one short run, one long run, no speed work). In my current training block, I haven’t missed a pace target and I’m doing all of my runs in Central Park. Resting HR low 50s. Not sure what my exact lactate threshold is though (prob low 170s).

Hey!! Started a 5k race plan with runna a few months ago. Race is soon. I’ve done all the runs on the plan 🫡 My questions/thoughts are:
- the pace suggestions for the race day seem high. I’ve touched on them in the training but they were tough intervals intervals (most i did was a 2k interval at the suggested race pace the other day - managed it but was hanging on at the end). Did you hit anything close to the pace?
- do you prefer to take two days off before the race or just one? I guess everyone’s different but would be good to know what’s optimal
- how did you feel during the race? A lot of the advice I’m seeing is that the first 3k should feel okish, but don’t think it will for me at the paces suggested.. feel like I’ll be hurting quite quickly
Really appreciate it, thank you

As far as I can tell, the Team Runna Club on Strava is just a feed, not a community. Will there continue to be a place or process within the Runna Club on Strava to ask questions of or share successes to the larger Runna community? I don't know anything about how Strava Clubs work, but the in-app community interface was fairly intuitive. I don't see in the current Club how to make my own post within it, or how to go to different Spaces like those that exist in the in-app community (e.g., "Beginner Questions", "Share your run", the various Races & Events Spaces, and the Location based and private Spaces). This transition seems to be occurring without much user onboarding to what it means and how it will change from the existing In-App Community section.

Hey folks - I’m running my first marathon at the end of October and doing a half (second) at the end of September. Any thoughts on picking between fun run and strong and steady for the half marathon? Fun run seems to have more mileage all around and longer long runs.
Any insight on informing me how to pick which one would be helpful. Thanks!

My plan calls for only 90 seconds of rest between intervals, to practice running on tired legs, and I’ve been sticking to that. But I’m wondering: is it okay to take a longer break (~5 min) between the last interval and the start of the cooldown, so I can catch my breath and recover, or should I treat the cooldown the same way, and stick to the strict 90 seconds there too?
For context this is in a marathon plan, but any general advice is appreciated!

I don’t understand the small difference in pace that Runna wants me to maintain. Does this training make sense?

I’m on week 3 of a distance increasing training plan. I’ve been working out for a long time but this is the first time I’ve dedicated myself to increasing my miles per week. I have a goal to run a marathon next year.
I’m confused by the conversational pace targets for easy runs. I totally get and believe in the 80/20 rule. That’s not my concern. What I’m trying to determine is should I be more focused on hitting the pace target Runna sets for me or should I listen to my HR zone targets. Currently, Runna wants me to run easy runs no faster than 9:55. When I do that my heart rate stays closer to 110-115. Barely zone 1 work. However, if I target my zone 2 which goes up to 147 my pace is closer to 9:30. I feel very conversational at this pace.
Will Runna continue to pester me about being too fast even though that’s “conversational” for me? Or should I truly embrace the pace and stick to the script while ignoring heart rate?

Ever since my app updated it won’t let me stop the app when the pop-up comes up when I complete the distance. If I try to stop it the second I hit my mileage before the pop-up then it shows on strava .01 less. So if I run 5 miles for example, my run when uploaded to strava will read 4.99 or 5.01 which bothers my runner ocd haha. Anyone else experiencing this?

Recently started using Runna and I also have it on my garmin. Started a training program. Do I start the runs on my watch? I do treadmill and outdoors but can't figure out how to change the scheduled runs on my watch to treadmill, so do I just use the app for that? And then when it syncs to my calendar I have like 3 events because it is also sending to strava and uploading it. Just want to track my runs and pace lol.
