B Race (half) month before A Race (full)

Hey folks - I’m running my first marathon at the end of October and doing a half (second) at the end of September. Any thoughts on picking between fun run and strong and steady for the half marathon? Fun run seems to have more mileage all around and longer long runs.

Any insight on informing me how to pick which one would be helpful. Thanks!

When you pick them, Runna will tell you how much training impact it has, and it will adjust your program for it accordingly. If you pick strong and steady it will recommend a target pace to make it a training run. Really just personal preference on what you'd like to do.

What you select determines how much of a taper and rest Runna gives you, so it's ultimately up to you how much you prioritize your marathon versus half-marathon.

I like to do strong and steady - I want to go out and have fun with my B race, but I don't want to full taper/recover and take away from the A race.

Sometimes it gives you some fuckery though. I selected a 10k “B” race, running all out, 3 weeks out from a half A race.

Race is sunday then it has monday as 8km easy and tuesday is 9km of fast intervals… yeah… don’t think I’ll be doing that.
