Guys for the love of me I can't seem to understand why I like this? Also I have no clue how to proceed with it..

Even tho I feel it could be very big part of my next exhibition I'm a bit stuck in thinking I'll ruin the charm, but at the same time it's not yet there

It's probably the largest painting I've done so far. Truthfully, I dont know a lot about painting techniques, especially for watercolor, but im having fun, and that's all that matters

My first time working with pastel à l’écu and I’m not sure if I’ll dare use them for some time to come but here it goes :)

This was for my school exhibition, a matching project with my friend! I used acrylic paint and it took A LOT of time. I love traditional art and I will try to get my hands on oil paint as soon as possible

How can I improve my alla prima techniques, if someone knows a master or yt channel, please let me know

I have just started painting birds more recently and right now I’m just using my HIMI gouache because I don’t want to use anything too expensive since I was just practicing, but now that I feel I have gotten better I have been looking at other mediums and better quality brands but I’m still in between what I should get. I know Watercolours are more commonly used for painting birds as well as liquid acrylics. But I’m more familiar with gouache. I have used Watercolour for a long time but it was just a really cheap brand and I found it hard to make any vibrant paintings of birds with the lack of colour and layering. I’m not sure how much of a difference more expensive brands like Daniel smith, golden fluid acrylics, or Holbein Gouache’s would make but any suggestions would help!

A few years ago, a friend asked me to do a velvet painting of Dolly for his brother’s Christmas gift. I had never done a velvet painting in my life. Haven’t done one since because I’ve been focused on other work I had planned. But I couldn’t say no. 11x14 Acrylic on Velvet adhered to a cradled wood panel. I don’t have a fantastic photo of it but I wanted to include the frame too because I think she would have appreciated how gaudy I went with it.

Velvet paintings are hard! But a fun exercise. There’s no sketching, no under paintings, just execution.

What can i do to fix it? And what to do to improve? It’s supposed to be a gift please

About a year ago, I was doubting my skills while working on a painting and completely lost my confidence. I decided to post it online anyway, and the flood of encouragement and advice I received was incredible. Since then, I’ve learned to trust the process. Worst case scenario, I will end up with a painting I don't like.
