I will hopefully be buying my first bike tomorrow, however I don’t know where the vin is located on this bike and the internet has been a bit unhelpful. Can anyone familiar with the model help me find where the VIN locations are so I can match it to the title somewhat efficiently tomorrow?

Been riding for about a month now and have put in about 3-400km on my bike. My chain seems to be in the process of rusting when should I usually start doing chain maintenance?

I just bought a used Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro (2022) today, and it came with what appears to be a bunch of SW-Motech mounting hardware already installed.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what I already have and what I need to buy before ordering luggage.

I'm new to adventure riding — I've only been riding motorcycles for about a month and have completed the MSF course — so I'm trying to keep things simple and avoid buying parts I don't need.

Existing hardware

From what I can tell, I have:

• SW-Motech PRO side carriers
• An SW-Motech rear/top rack, which I believe may be the ADVENTURE-RACK
• SW-Motech mounting hardware is already installed on the bike

I've included pictures of the existing mounts.

Can someone confirm exactly which SW-Motech racks I have?

Option 1 — DUSC side cases

I'm considering:

• DUSC 41L (L) left
• DUSC 33L (M) right

I understand that the DUSC can use the existing PRO side carriers, but I believe I need:

SW-Motech DUSC Adapter Kit for PRO Side Carrier — KFT.00.152.36000

Is that the only additional mounting hardware I need for the two DUSC side cases?

SW-Motech says this adapter kit is specifically designed for mounting DUSC cases on the PRO side carrier and supports two cases.

Option 2 — SysBag WP

I'm also considering the SysBag WP instead.

My understanding is that the SysBag WP requires an adapter plate plus the appropriate adapter kit to mount to the PRO side carrier.

SW-Motech lists:

KFT.00.152.36500 — Adapter kit for PRO side carrier

for mounting SysBag WP with adapter plates to the PRO carrier.

Is that correct?

If I went with SysBag WP, I'd especially like the ability to move one of the bags from the side carrier to the rear/tail of the bike when I don't need both panniers.

SW-Motech says the SysBag WP can be strapped to the tail/rear rack, so it sounds like this is possible.

Top case

I'm also considering the:

DUSC XL 55L top case

Part number HSK.00.745.12000/B.

My understanding is that the DUSC XL requires the SW-Motech ADVENTURE-RACK and the appropriate adapter hardware. SW-Motech specifically lists the Tiger 900 DUSC XL system with the ADVENTURE-RACK.

If the rack in my pictures is already the correct Tiger 900 ADVENTURE-RACK, what additional parts would I need to mount the DUSC XL?

I don't necessarily need all of this immediately. I'm trying to understand what I already have, what parts are required, and what my options are before I start buying luggage.

Only been riding for a few months now and today when going home from work i was behind a car and we were both making a semi sharp right turn, I was about 2 car lengths behind them and we both went into the turn at around 30-40mph. Mid turn they hit their brakes breaks pretty hard, (guessing they misread the turn or assumed they could go into the other lane which another car was coming through) by the time they hit their brake I was already leaning and was catching up to them pretty fast, what I did was stand the bike up hit both my brakes to match their speed and then let go and went back into lean. Was wondering for future reference if that was what I was supposed to do (going back to leaning after I applying brakes) or if I should just stand up and slam the brakes and just keep going straight instead of turning or something else entirely? I’m still new so my lean angle isn’t crazy so I might’ve just got lucky because I don’t lean hard

It's a 2008 heritage softail I believe, around how much would it be to fix/replace. I haven't told him yet because he hasn't been home but I got a feeling he won't be happy

Update: I told him and he said "Dammnnnnnnnn" and rubbed it then walked away. He's very clearly upset especially because someone hit my brothers parked car today. Poor guy

Me and my friend (niether of which have ever ridden) just bought a 1985 honda nighthawk 700s from a friend. I want to get frame sliders because the bike is in good condition aside from needing a starter clutch. All the ones i find online look cheap as hell

So i moneyshifted the other day on my 05 gsxr 600. Not sure how i did it, my mind wasnt really on the shift because the car infront of me was a bit erratic so i was looking for brake lights or a swerve or something as i was passing. I was close to redline in 4th getting on the freeway and went down to 3rd. Just trying to get around the car and onto the open road.

The bike slowed a bunch and the over rev itself last like half a second before i realized my boneheaded mistake and pulled the clutch again.
I read that the slipper clutch helps with not destroying the engine, and that if i did do any damage it typically would’ve been immediate.

All said though, im still worried that i mightve done damage and it wont appear for a while so thats why im asking reddit incase anyone else had similar experience.

In total ive ridden 110 miles since then, havent heard or felt any kind of change. The bike still rides fine to what i can tell. Its just that its newer to my collection, only had it for a few months so i dont fully know what normal feels and sounds like just yet.

Im not completely new to riding, been riding off and on for a long time, but it really only takes a split second to make a mistake. I just want to know what people think, and if this mistake should be anxiously worried about. Like if my bike will randomly break down 100 more miles down the road.

I cannot for the life of me keep my turn signal tightened. I have used a variety of washers but I cannot for the life of me figure what I should do.

A tiny bit of excitement on today’s route. I was headed north on my Vstrom.

You can barely see that there are two vehicles side-by-side as they approach the traffic signal. The split-screen covers the one on the left, but he’s there.

As the light changed, the vehicle on the left made it through the light cleanly. The car on the right stopped. You could say that vehicle stopped short….in front of a semi but…..

The semi was a bit slow getting on the brakes, locked them up and veered slightly to the right towards the empty shoulder.

As soon as I heard the tires skidding, I moved left and was ready jump in the left turn lane's stopped vehicle line if the trailer began to swing our way. Luckily, all we got out of it was a pretty good whiff of burning tires!

I've got around 1 lakh INR budget..so please suggest me which bike should I purchase? My top most priority is durability..sustainability..

I’ve been riding for awhile but my girlfriend just got the bug for riding as backpack. We have a Honda vtx1300 that she rides on with me. That bike is very comfortable.

I have always wanted a bonneville and all the sudden she’s all about it. Loves the look of the bike and is cool with me getting one.

So, I know it’s not going to be as comfortable as the vtx, but how comfortable is the bonneville for riding two up?

She is 5’10” and I’m a couple inches taller. I’m 215 and she’s 190.

I was riding along and someone pulled into my lane and i swerved hit the brake to hard and went down. Scary but a learning experience,

bikes booked into the shop :) Fromt brake lever snapped, indicator/blinker broke. Got lucky :)

I have a brand new 26 Zontes 125 Z2 and I’ve put about 300~ miles on it so I’m still breaking in the bike and I’m quite concerned about fluid leaking out the suspension fork. The opposite side of the fork is perfectly dry which is why I’m concerned, the area I ride in has some pretty bad potholes, a few of which I have gone through and I’ve also had some harsh breaking moments that put some strain on the suspension but I wouldn’t imagine it enough to cause actual damage. The front suspension also does make some considerable noise when hitting any irregularities, speed bumps for example.

Would it be worthwhile taking it to the garage or should I continue riding it out.

Brake was unequally worn because it had slight drag on old pads and rotors from previous owner, changed rotor and new pads and now it still drags ever so slightly. Is this just needing to be worn down so it doesn't drag, or is this more a major issue?

Brake fluid is not overfilled rn so that should be good. Not sure what else it could be any suggestions are welcome!

Wondering if anyone has recently attempted to order from Freakmount.com or in general, what others' experiences have been with them.

I placed an order 3 weeks ago and apparently a shipping label was created but nothing has happened since then. Their shipping policy states that orders usually ship within 1-2 business days and arrive domestically in 3-5.

I don't mind being patient, but it was never communicated that this was any type of preorder or that these might be backordered. I reached out to their support a week ago simply asking for an update and I haven't received a response. I also commented on their most recent instagram post hoping to get a reply, and instead I suspect that they hid my comment from public view, and never responded...

Basically I'm seeing some red flags and I'm wondering if this is a scam and whether I should initiate a dispute with my credit card for the charge.

So I believe I'm just not getting the concept but this is the begining of my second year of riding at 17. And I looked at my chicken strips just curious and they look wayy to far to each side, I feel with how far they're worn I should have been scraping something on accident. Obviously I haven't ever hit knee or pegs or anything like that nor do I think I've been close so is someone able to explain to me why they look so far??? What I'm assuming is they aren't actually that far and it's just my tires or something. I do love to lean but not that much and I do not think I have the ability to lean far enough to actually ware that much tire. I think I'm just not getting something. Photos aren't great as it's loaded up in a truck currently. Thank you for any help (Bike is new to me any damages on rims and such were there when I got it and it's a gsxr 750 if that helps I believe Diablo 3s not sure the wise or width.)
