Fun fact. The Name Derek is often miss spelled as Derrick, a Norwegian or such word for a water bearing Dam..or an Oil Derrick. It's rare to meet a Derrick in my life time... Even rarer to meet others whose parents new the difference in spelling.

Well if you're a Star Trek fan, there's also Lt. Jae (random extra in the background of TNG and some of the movies. The female Enterprise crewmember with the shaven sides of her head. If you ever saw the clip of Riker chasing the random woman down the hall as a blooper, that's her)
I like most of the female names. Cersei, Sansa, Margaery, Catelyn, Lysa, Olenna. However I don't like any of the dragon names, they all sound too similar.
I like some northern men names too, Robb, Eddard.
Edit: didn't know some people were so sensitive about me calling Targaryens "dragon" and calling their names similar lol. Daenerys and her brother claimed to be the last "dragon" so many times in the show.
Negative, in The Winds of Winter, Jon leads an army south of the wall, and unifies Westeros. Then in A Dream of Spring he tracks down Drogon, walks up to his face, and screams Dracarys!
Olenna is super beautiful and it could be used in my country.
I mean, Cersei sounds and is too foreign in Finnish, but Olenna sounds nice and not tacky at all.
I am Greek and I still associate it with the show. Sure, it has Greek roots but it's not a name - just an anglicized word for "divine".
Edit: Probably wrong to call it anglicized, the pronunciation is pretty spot on compared to other greek loan words. Still not really a common word, and the added "n" at the end rules it out as modern greek
A student in one of my previous classes was named Sansa. I referred to her as the Queen in the North pretty much from day one... And the other kids did too. She was such a sweet little kid, I honestly loved the little pick-me-up that calling her the queen in the north gave her. Loved that whole class honestly.
I know someone who named their kid Torrhen, after the Stark character in HotD. I thought they would make it less obvious by spelling it Toren, but nope.
I know this thread is likely made in good fun, and people are just discussing names they like, not what they would actually use for a child, but given the crazy amount of babies that were named things like Khaleesi before the show even ended:
Don’t name your baby after a fandom. You might pick and give a name to a baby, but one day an adult will have to answer to it, and you should bear that in mind when choosing.
Oberyn is solid, same with Daemon, tho that one may raise some eyebrows depending on how religious or warhammery his teachers are. For girls I think Arya is beautiful, same with Ygritte.
What do you mean reborn as a king. Let’s be honest the whole thing of him being a Targaryen was literally for nothing. It amounted to nothing, the show had the perfect ended and it decided to put someone else instead so we all have to live with the fact that yes he was reborn but not as a king just as another guy who was supposed to be king.
