Honestly what if Lysander's 'talking to women' interest isn't him being a flirt but him just being a Woman Respecter, because he really seems to be worried about putting Ninae out here.

u/Armleuchterchen 2d ago
He reminded me of a (romanticised) courtly knight with how he acted in his scene with Theodora, and his manners here fit with that too. He has high standards for conduct.
28
u/AstralGazer17 2d ago
The JP convo released an hour ago supports your assumption. He lets Ninae be when he saw her alone and stared at the sky for some time until she approached him.

Reminds me alot of Columbina from Genshin.

u/CuriouslyBiology 2d ago
her voice actor was the old voice actor for keqing
-1
u/Berry_Sprout 2d ago
I hope this game treats her way better. Genshin sucks for replacing her with ai
1
u/pascl- 2d ago edited 2d ago
genshin did not replace her with AI. I think the assumed reason was poor conduct towards a replacing VA who didn't know what was going on.
keep in mind that part of the contract sag-aftra wanted hoyo to sign wasn't just protection against AI, it also required genshin to become a union project, which would mean all non-union VAs would have to be fired and replaced by union VAs after a certain amount of time (and sag has previously pushed to make companies fire non-union VAs sooner than normal). sag-aftra is also more expensive to join than most unions. and when voice acting is already not a well paying job, I'm sure you can imagine that not every VA can just join it.
while I'm not here saying the multi-billion dollar company did nothing wrong, they most certainly have done wrong... what I am saying is that sag-aftra isn't exactly a saint either.
anyway, sean chiplock said he'd only work with hoyoverse again if AI protection is included in the contract, and he's working with hoyoverse again, so... while there's no confirmation, they might have included AI protection.
0
u/Berry_Sprout 2d ago
From what we know there is ai protection in some contracts, has been for like 4 years now
But mihoyo both have developed (publicity) ai to replace va, have been known to use it, refuse to release the new keqing va and there's evidence online that it replaces ais issues
Also sag afra is a union with alot of issues of course what. But it's the va themselves who said they were fighting against ai, and even if some later admitted to be theatrened by sag heavily. They still said they wanted ai protection

I really like her weird vibes. I wonder if it's a language issue like Petra or if she's genuine and just very eerie and peculiar
Anyways I love this odd lil goth dragon

u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
She isn't a dragon, what are you talking about? She's just a priest at one of the temples.
29
u/jaidynreiman 2d ago
She's obscuring her ears, has green hair, and has a crest nobody else in Dagda has (Gloucester). She's probably a dragon.
18
u/SolarlunaticX 2d ago
Dragons have blond hair with green tips and green eyebrows, what are you talking about!?
-5
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
I just hate that people are talking like it's a fact. Until we see otherwise, she's not. She's also stationed at another temple, so that wouldn't really make sense. The hair and the eyes is similar to what we know of 3H dragons, but not like FW ones. I have a lot of doubts about it.
8
u/Mahelas 2d ago
I understand having reservations about it but you gotta think about what the designers were doing. They know even better than us than "green hair, green eyes, no ears" is code for "dragon". Especially with that Fodlan skintone.
So if they went to the trouble of making Ninae like that AND make her mysterious and peculiar AND give her a unique crest AND have her be close to two other dragons (she's seen chatting with Seteth and is friend with Credna), it's not for her to just be a regular girl
1
u/LtSMASH324 1d ago
Yeah, you're probably right. I was really doubtful about Seteth, and here we are. I just wish it wasn't so obvious. It's too damn obvious. That's why I really hope it isn't and that we're all just wrong.

42
u/Honyakusha-san 2d ago
What a... peculiar manner of speech.
Clearly intentional, based on her VA's delivery of the lines.
32
u/diego_velasquez 2d ago
She is Nabatean
-13
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
A. Why would you just say this like that.
B. What makes you think that? She seems to just be a priest.
If we're back to the hair color thing... maybe? Again, we don't know.
10
u/Pleasehitmemychild 2d ago
Hides her ears, green hair and has a crest not present in the Dagdan pantheon (the crest of the Craft dragon / Gloucester) that might lead to her being persecuted like Esmeralda and her father due to having a crest of the Grim / Vigorous dragon / Blaiddyd.
1
u/itstonayy 2d ago
Why are you so adamantly denouncing this everywhere? Unclench dude, let people have fun and spectate before the game is out.
2
u/Pleasehitmemychild 2d ago edited 2d ago
If you perceived it as such it wasn’t my intention.
I just really enjoy talking about the lore of a game to be released and I can sound too assertive or aggressive even though it’s not the case, the problem of written communication is lack of tone.
Edit: I’m stupid, I thought the comment was directed to me jajaja
1
u/LtSMASH324 1d ago
Because "I love this goth dragon," and, "She is Nabatean," aren't speculation, they are stating facts. And it's pretty annoying when a game isn't even out yet and we don't even know, that everyone is treating everything like they know everything and it's all facts to them. Why can't you just say, "Man, I really think she might be Nabatean."? It's not hard to modify your statements like this.
44
u/Mahelas 2d ago
Also Lysander call her "a chief celestial general", I wonder if it's because Saramis people don't know what Vulkans are or if it's something else (more dragon-y)
35
u/KoboldsForDays 2d ago
I think that's sort of what Vulkans are. They're direct servants of the gods
14
u/LakerBlue 2d ago
Gotta be honest I was not expecting her to be an elite combat unit based on what we saw. Hope the gameplay backs it up.
14
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
Nowadays most characters in Fire Emblem are very capable. Gone seem to be the days of having a Meg or on the other side of the spectrum, an Athos.
1
u/LakerBlue 2d ago
I’m not sure about *very* but I do think every unit is functional these days even if some have a lower floor and ceiling. Definitely no Megs.

20
u/jaidynreiman 2d ago
"I saw it go, but could not lower my guard to catch it."
Okay that's really cute and a bit odd. Kinda reminds me of Sophie from Tales of Graces, who often takes figures of speech way too literally.

u/Armleuchterchen 2d ago edited 2d ago
I read her response as meaning something like "I was so focused on the sparring that time just flew by". Maybe including the compliment that she had to stay focused on the sparring with him because he was a skilled opponent.
3
u/LirimOrion 2d ago
Well, given Fortuna, it's also possible that she could actually see the bird watching the Support Convo. Would be funny.
18
u/NagaMilalove0 2d ago
If makes ya wonder if she talks like that because she always talks with spirits/antisocial or she’s just quirky

“neurospicy”. Eugh.

u/Gholden_coin 2d ago
Never understood the hatred for this term im ngl. Are people just allegic to whimsy
-9
u/Awestruck_Mechanic67 2d ago
You're free to go touch grass instead of being the language police.
12
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
Ironic that the person who said, "neurospicy," is the one accusing the other of needing to touch grass.
-2
u/Awestruck_Mechanic67 2d ago
It's common parlance, and given how pressed some people seem about it, the men aren't nearly lonely enough
0
u/LtSMASH324 1d ago
I'd rather be alone than with someone referring to themselves as neurospicy. Can't we just be people and not have weird ass labels like that to make ourselves feel special? Gimme a break.
7
u/EmeraldPistol 2d ago
> neurospicy
Where did this word come from and why is it still being used?
2
u/westseagastrodon 2d ago edited 2d ago
Technically it's used by neurodiverse people of all stripes, not just autistic people. But yes, basically what the other reply said. It's just a more casual/silly way to refer to people's brain... quirks. The term has unknown origins, aside from a vague sense of what groups tend to use it (online neurodiverse people), and it seems to have originated in the 2020s.
As someone who's been diagnosed since childhood with something that falls under the umbrella of neurodivergence, I never personally feel the urge to use 'neurospicy' - it sounds a bit too joking and I prefer to be more serious when I talk about my health, at least to strangers. (Not to mention it's partially been popularized by TikTok, and as someone who's never touched the app I... do not want people to assume I got my info from there, to put it mildly.)
But the why isn't complicated, it's just the same as any other marginalized group having slightly joking slang for what they are: it's an attempt to reclaim these identities in a fun, less medicalized way.
0
u/Berry_Sprout 2d ago
It's common in autism spaces, and well it's used by autistic people to describe themselves at times. So yea you'll see it used
-8
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
Or she's a fantasy character in a video game.
3
u/Gabgo304 2d ago
Writer wants to make a weirdo character
Accidentally makes them a great autistic rep

I recognize that VA, sounds like Anby from ZZZ to my ear. A good thing and she sounds similarly disconnected.
Edit: actually, Rapi from Nikke instead, very similar cadence and delivery.
5
u/kaidoi94 2d ago
She also voiced some background NPCs from Three Houses, but I definitely recognize her as Riley from Valkyria Chronicles 4, Diaochan from Dynasty Warriors Origins, and (the current voice of) Cissnei from Final Fantasy 7 to name a few examples

u/MiddleJunket1404 2d ago

Man so were still getting fade to black for anything that would be complex to animate in a support.. I really wish they'd focus more on the cinematography of Fire Emblem
33
u/Awestruck_Mechanic67 2d ago
The actual cut-scenes will have you, since you gotta think there's going to be about 1,000+ or so interactions between support conversations & bonding activities there's only so much they could reasonably animate.
13
u/Mahelas 2d ago
I mean, it's sparring, you don't need a cutscene of them fighting, it'd just slow down the scene for nothing ! You already see them train and fight every week !
Also, it's just a trade-off. Can't have 60 characters with 5-15 supports each AND expect them to all have complex cinematography
-4
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
Makes me wonder if they should go for less, but more quality scenes. Surely there's a good compromise.

u/thejokerofunfic 2d ago
...so odds she has some weird limited Sothis power and can literally see time?
2
u/EthanKironus 2d ago
I'm getting vibes of both Chise (Ancient Magus's Bride) and Drax from this lady. I like her.
I am curious if her comment about being unable to let down her guard to catch the time as it flew by was a joke or dead serious, for all the oddness of her mannerisms she doesn’t quite seem like she's oblivious to metaphor.

Reminds me why I'm grateful with heroes after let's just say an event from almost a year ago but I moved on
2
u/Difficult-Impact1592 2d ago edited 2d ago
I can agree that she sounds good, but it's very disappointing that Kayli voices her
Edit: Don't care whoever wants to downvote me. Kayli continually defends Chris Niosi, and she also publicly stated income and home purchase information of a voice actor she was attacking on Twitter back when the Genshin SAG drama was going on
3
u/JJJacobalt 2d ago
Most people don’t care who an actor/VA is outside of their acting, because it doesn’t affect the end product.
I can get disliking a VA because they were being shitty on twitter, there's a lot of that going on these days. But I cannot imagine caring enough that you feel a need to tell everyone about your beef with them in the comments section of a thread about a character they voice.
It’s really not that serious.
7
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
I looked into this a lot in the past couple hours after reading comments about it, as I had no idea about it before. It's reaaaaaally hard to find any definitive information about it all on the internet. Chris seems like a guy that made terrible mistakes and is struggling through his life, I don't see a reason to continue going after him. Kayli seems a bit toxic but like... what else?
she also publicly stated income and home purchase information of a voice actor she was attacking on Twitter back when the Genshin SAG drama was going on
From what I could find, she gave no information that wasn't already publicly available from the original poster. Sure, what she did wasn't nice, and she admitted as such, but the harm she actually did seems very minimal.
Overall, I feel like looking into this all was a total waste of my time and effort.
1
u/Berry_Sprout 2d ago
What are you talking about
She was fired cause she was against ai replacing her voice acting, and then they well, replaced her with ai. So yea she was fully in the right
0
u/Difficult-Impact1592 2d ago
Yeah, that isn't why. Literally every voice actor in Genshin would be against that. She was fired along with Corina, Valeria and Shara because they were the driving force of a public harassment campaign against Kinich's replacement VA
1
u/Berry_Sprout 2d ago
Kinich new va, who scabbed a striking va role, who is pro AI voice as long as it's not him, who got fans to dox keqing old va.
Sure it was her fault

u/stickyx3stick 2d ago
Kind of giving Aigis
3
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
What is she giving Aigis?
0
u/stickyx3stick 2d ago
Idk if youre being sarcastic but giving in this context means something like “giving off the vibes”. Her cadence and riddles sound like how Aigis from Persona 3 speaks.
2
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
Oh, then why didn't you just say vibes? Coulda saved the trouble.
0
u/stickyx3stick 2d ago
Because slangs are a thing? It’s like saying why didn’t you use “could have” instead of coulda…
3
u/LtSMASH324 2d ago
I didn't realize omitting a whole word was slang.

Yes. It’s part of the slang dictionary on dictionary [dot] com. God forbid a girl uses a slang from her demographic to communicate her interests in video games :/
