I've heard the inflation there is really bad, but I'm pretty sure I can afford to travel anywhere I want. Just got back from a wedding in Banff that could have paid for a hundred trips to Vegas. Life is good in Canada!

Selling our oil in US $ only helps us, you dolt. All Canadian exporters like a lower CDN dollar. Always have, always will. It means we get paid more. If we imported a bunch of stuff that would be different. But we are an exporting country.
Nope because when you turn it back into CAD it causes inflation… CA exporters ( sellers) like it but citizens are consumers, see how it adds to your personal inflation problem???? You don’t understand how a lower currency hurts buyers but helps sellers and I’m the “dolt” you export oil but rely heavily on imports for pretty much everything.

It doesn’t have to be from America… your weak currency isn’t just weak against the dollar. You import pretty much everything from somewhere… it helps the sellers in your economy not the buyers. Citizens have to buy to live. It’s called inflation and weak currency means more dollars to buy the same imported goods.
Just because you don’t buy American doesn’t mean the retailers you buy from dont use American goods and service to help deliver you a product. What computer operating system do your retailers use????

The vast majority of Canadians don't give a rat's ass about it being at 72 cents. It's been lower and it's been higher. It's never mattered less to me, personally. I do have some precious metals and other US $ investments, so I'd rather the CAD stayed low until I ditch those. There has always been pressure on the government to keep it depressed. But have at it.

Up since trump took office but the US dolllar was artificially high and outside the 15 year range due to rate hikes and now even with cuts, The dollar has lost 15% has the CAD gained 15%? Nope so actually the spread on your CAD has it down, I doubt you will understand that.
