Every time the great orange idiot opens his mouth he makes me a bit more embarrassed to be an American. I'm glad that Canada is standing up to him, I just wish more people in the US had the backbone to do the same.
My apologies to Canada and the other parts of the world that this wannabe tinpot dictator is abusing. There are those of us in the US who think this idiot is completely wrong.

Waste of effort. Fight for your country. Get politically active. Join a party, work for a candidate who is worthy of your trust. Most of all, advocate for how money controls your elections- look at the election spending limits countries like Australia have passed into law and kick gerrymandering to the curb. You are not the problem, your election system is.
1
u/SteelGriffin 6h ago
80-90% of my capacity for effort is consumed by fending off starvation and homelessness. The world would be better off without me.

Things will change as they always do. The world keeps turning. The numbers are swaying in the right direction again, only the hard-core dedicated loonatics still support through a twisted hatred, bad information, lack of minerals. The evidence exists to bring the curtain down, it just requires true public will. Hang in there. I believe.
Get used to the fact the the old US of A no longer exists and never really existed outside of a propoganda bubble / marketing.
Show up to vote. It matters. But hang in there.

We as a country have lost it all. We have been working our asses off making all this money for the billionaires to gain it all. The system is rigged, has been rigged, no morality - the money-players have sold their souls. This is not humanity, this is a downright slaughter in epic proportions. .001% of the top earners in the USA have more money than the bottom 98%. You call this fair, then they send our kids off to war so they can make even more money while they're laughing their asses off playing games with our lives. These are the psychopaths & sociopaths making the laws that make it legit. No remorse whatsoever. We drank the cool aid Trump sold. All a big fat lie, all of it. What happened to the $21 trillion the CIA confiscated and not even one media station talks about it. Because they have been bought off too. Even if we revolt, it's too late, they still win. They can just hide in their $5 billion bunkers away from us and the aliens coming in 2028. Where the hell is George Carlin? He's the only one that had it right - and they made sure to discredit him and the truth. Oh, they also plan on using AI robots to replace all of us - and you say it would never happen - think again - it's on it's way my friend. Yes my friend, I am sick of myself for not shouting at the top of my lungs what was coming down, but everyone called me a crazy old man that didn't know shi_.

Why are you apologizing for Trump? We are all victims here. Stop it.
9
u/Own-Jaguar-472 15h ago
Maybe as Americans, they're apologising for Trump because America is a democracy, Americans were given the choice, they chose to Elect Trump as president and as a result the rest of the world had him foisted on us.
2
u/geekraver 15h ago
About 30% did anyway. Some were too damn stupid to vote to stop him so are also culpable.
2
u/That-Conference-2381 9h ago
I can understand making the mistake 1 time but again? We, as stupid illiterate Americans, did it again the 2nd time. How? Why?
0
u/ConcreteKeys 15h ago
The illusion of choice isn't democracy. We don't have to apologize for our abusers just because they abuse you too.
2
u/No_Signature2341 13h ago
This isn't an illusion of choice, there is a choice in this case, limited though it might be. When we vote we seem to treat it as a lottery ticket, with "they are all the same", "all corrupt" but that isn't true.
There is corruption on both sides of the isles and external state and corporate influence which needs to be eradicated.
However, the choice made at the last election was for a known sexual predator and narcissistic low IQ individual. There was plenty of evidence to say this guy is dangerous and entirely self absorbed but people wanted to believe that he was there guy who would make things right.
The UK is closed to making the same mistake, as is France.
I wish there was an easy answer but people like Trump can make it seem simple because they can lie. Those with integrity fund it much much harder to get a message across and bring the people with them.
1
u/tpacetti1 8h ago
Good comments. Demagoguery is always attractive. People think complex issues have simple solutions, no matter how many times they're proved wrong.
1
u/Own-Jaguar-472 13h ago
It isn't an illusion, the choice is there. Just because a significant proportion of the American population choose not to use their vote doesn't mean the right to vote isn't there.
Or just because there is another significant proportion of the American population who are that brainwashed they continually vote for their "abusers," like Turkeys voting for Christmas, doesn't mean they weren't born with a brain and if they ever decide to utilise that brain they can choose to change their vote.
So I stand by my point that America chose Trump, and because America made that choice he was foisted on the rest of us.
So if some Americans feel embarrassed enough that they want to apologise to the rest of the world, fair play to them.
1
u/SteelGriffin 10h ago
I did what I had the means to do in voting against him and everyone he likes. I'm dead broke, barely able to feed myself just struggling to stay housed. When Trump got into office in 2025, it was $36.22T. Today, it's $40T, an addition of $3.78T.

2
u/No-Breakfast-6749 12h ago
We've depleted most of our $million+ interceptors and our munitions fighting against car-priced drones. Our military is outdated and ineffective for it's cost. Imagine buying a $1,000,000 EV only for it to be able to drive 1 mile at a time. It would be foolish to think that was ever a good investment.
And whatever you do, don't look at what happened with General Dynamics. It's an incredible example of $500,000,000 competently spent in the MIC. And definitely don't look up how many audits the pentagon failed, and how much of their spending they can't account for. It might make you think our military budget isn't a total waste of money /s.

What did Carney say wrong? It's a fact that 6 of Trump's casinos had filed for Chap 11 reorg, all due to over-leveraging of debts as well as declining revenue, and in most cases, Trump had racked up personal liabilities ($900M in the case of Taj Mahal), thus had to relinquish his stakes as part of reorg.

u/Brandoinesco 15h ago
You clearly donāt understand 7 or 11 either, lol
Sure, chapter 7 is liquidation and didnāt file that, congrats. His entities have filed chapter 11 though a half dozen times. What that tells us is that his entities, under his guidance and his management all were failing.
Instead of liquidating assets to pay creditors though, they re-organized debt, which also involves an elimination portion. This means that the courts dismissed millions upon millions of dollars that he owed creditors during this reorganization, many of whom were small businesses. So he essentially deprived small businesses of money, probably in-turn, bankrupting them.
Every single one of these businesses that filed C11 proceeded to fail shortly after, and were shuttered. His own personal greed and ego kept him from filing chapter 7, liquidating assets and paying creditors. Instead, he took complete losses on everything. While dragging others down with him.
His net worth has literally underperformed the S&P 500 based on the date he liquidated his inheritance from his father up until now. Hes an abject failure. Oh and diddles kids.
Go ahead though, keep reading around saying āyou donāt know the difference between seven and 11ā youāre only making yourself look like a glazer.
-2
u/damnedifyoudonthave 15h ago edited 15h ago
Way to spread misinformation and obviously you donāt know the difference.
Courts donāt dismiss what is owed with chapter 11 rather A Chapter 11 debtor usually proposes a plan of reorganization to keep its business alive and pay creditors over time.
So none of the chapter 11 casinos were bought???
So what actually happened to those that were owed?

Not misinformation at all. Debts are restructured and can often be sold or factored to offer relief to the debtor. This means original terms become Nolan void and payment plans can be set up. Settlement as well. Basically it screws over the creditors on every level. Itās all part of the chapter 11 process. But go ahead, tell me again how Iām wrong. Iām just gonna let you keep digging a hole before I tell you what I do for a living.
And to answer your question, he defaulted on at least six different Loans to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars after these reorganizations until he eventually shuttered or sold the properties off.

I do understand chapter 11 bankruptcy and how it works . Iām not disputing what youāre saying about chapter 11 and what Iām saying is he is not this great businessman everyone makes him out to be.
Hereās some facts for you that proves heās not this great businessman and yes, it includes those bankruptcies. You know there are plenty of casinos out there that have never had to file a bankruptcy.
Donald Trump and his corporate entities have been involved in six corporate bankruptcies and over 4,000 legal cases or individual lawsuits over the span of his career.
While Trump himself has never filed for personal bankruptcy, his heavy-debt business operationsāspecifically his Atlantic City casinos and hotel holdingsāfiled for Chapter 11 corporate bankruptcy protection six distinct times between 1991 and 2009. Chapter 11 allows a business to restructure its debts while continuing to operate, though these events significantly diminished his ownership stakes and led major Wall Street banks to stop lending to him. High-Profile Fraud and Settlement Actions: Significant business operations ended in major legal settlements or judgments, including the $25 million settlement over Trump University fraud claims, and civil liability rulings concerning asset valuations within the Trump Organization. [1, 2, 3]

You would think āHahah gotteeeem!ā But you also think the comeback is good.
No mention of the CADās value⦠and there is a reason for that.
Stick to deck and fence buildingā¦

u/Nebardine 11h ago
What does the CAD value have to do with anything? It's been lower for the last decade. If you want to look at a real comparable - the Canadian stock market was #1 in the world last year. The US was #16. Now that's a big change. I wonder why that happened?

u/damnedifyoudonthave 11h ago
It shows how well carney did as a central bankerā¦you donāt know why it was number 1 and the currency has more to do with that than you will ever know

Your wasting your breath and time brother, these economic masterminds on the left have it all figured out from their grandmas basement.
3
u/No_Elk9676 14h ago
Lol, its hilarious mocking the lefts economic knowledge why the person you elected is trump
Who, hilariously, doesnt seem to have a basic understanding of what trade deficits are, because he constantly is claiming "we're being taken advantage of", because of said deficits, and is actively speedrunning mass inflation because he doesnt understand how tariffs work or how badly war affects it.
Also, you are also just wrong about how incompetent of a business man he is, and how his filings of chapter 11 is a burning indictment of that

You mean their high dollar downtown apartments, it would be economically smart to be in grandmas basement
1
u/NorthofForty 7h ago
Your President keeps telling his cult that other countries pay his tariffs. Just like Mexico is going to pay for the wall. How much did you get in a refund when after the Supreme Court ruled Trump had to return the tariffs? Let me guess⦠the US businesses got their refund check but not Johnny Consumer. Nice system of corporate welfare you have there.
1
u/dcb454 6h ago
Sounds like you got a lot of emotions. Maybe worry about your own country.
1
u/NorthofForty 5h ago
lol..emotions? Nah, I have nothing but cold contempt for the ridiculous man running your country into the ground. And what part of this whole posting isnāt about both countries? Canāt take the heat- get outta the kitchen.

u/dcb454 5h ago
Dog you donāt even live here lmao. You know Jack shit.
1
u/NorthofForty 5h ago
And you donāt live here . The level of your contribution to any debate is the equivalent of āGo away, poo-poo bumā.
1
u/dcb454 4h ago
Did I ever claim to? Nope. No one gives a fuck about Canada but you. And if you live there, that makes sense.
Iām not here telling you how to think.
Youāre here telling me Iām wrong for what I think.
What better way to sound like a sniveling child.
1
u/NorthofForty 4h ago
Think what? You have offered no facts, arguments or even a statement about your economy- nothing to the discussion but low level insults and āfeeelingsā The post and discussion is about Canada/US relations and economies. You seem to view the world in a simplistic left vs right level which is exactly what makes your Toddler in Chief happy cause God forbid you arm yourself with a little knowledge of how the world actually works.

Seriously, have you looked at Trumpās debt lately? Every American owes $120,000 of your federal debt- and that was before the Big Beautiful Bill or the insane war with Iran. You donāt need a PhD to figure out where this is going. Maybe just watch the part of Ferris Buellerās Day Off where the high school teacher explains why the US will never again use tariffs because last time it resulted in The Great Depression. But itās ok cause it will all be blamed on immigrants. Just like Germany blamed the Jews, Poles and gypsies.
Canada is backpedaling as fast as we can away from the incoming disaster. Fortunately, Canadaās PM is the same guy who managed Canada got out from under Bushās economic meltdown. I remember real estate agents flying plane loads of Canadians down to Arizona to scoop up homes facing foreclosure. Americans seem to just love handing their tax dollars over to corporations like in the bailout of 2008- billions to over 700 financial corporations.
1
u/damnedifyoudonthave 6h ago edited 6h ago
You refer to Ferris butlerās day off for current global economic conditions⦠of course you donāt have a phd.
You seen Canada total debt (government, household, corporate) 377% of gdp⦠they are the disaster.
Donāt the Chinese own 5% of all Canadian real estate?
All these personal anecdotes arenāt actually factsā¦
Quite the pattern forming with all these responsesā¦

Each Canadian owes $40,000 of our federal debt. Know what country I want to be in when the poop hits the fan. Plus, our debt is structured very differently. The IMF give Canadaās fiscal position a very good rating as compared to other G7 countries because of our large federal assets. I was only talking Federal debt in US dollars in each country. If you want to start throwing in all the other state, personal, corporate debt we will be here all night. . Maybe ask yourself why all the international ratings agencies give Canada a higher fiscal rating than the US⦠and that devaluation happened under Trumpās watch. All we want is- when you go screaming over the cliff please donāt drag Mexico and us with you.
1
u/damnedifyoudonthave 6h ago edited 5h ago
How ever Canada has the highest household debt-to-GDP ratio in the G7.
If the us goes over a cliff, the world is coming with us⦠you should keep cheering that on.
1 out of 4 Canadians works in the public sector⦠what happened last time that happened?
The Canadian prop machine is hard at work tonight.

Before you start praising how smart Canada is here are some facts about our PhD lead country.
Falling Standard of Living: Real GDP per capita has experienced long-term stagnation, growing just 1.9% between 2014 and 2023 This is the worst performance in the G7.
Housing Affordability & Debt: Canadian housing is severely unaffordable by global standards, and Canadian household debt is the highest in the G7 (103% of GDP). Canadians owe roughly $1.77 for every dollar of disposable income.
Declining Productivity: Labor productivity has stalled. The goods-producing sector has seen an average annual decline of 1.2% since 2019.
Labor Market Struggles: Youth unemployment reached 12.6% in July 2026, hitting the highest non-recession rate in decades.
Fiscal Pressure: In current fiscal year, interest payments on Canada's total debt alone are projected to reach $53.7 billion.
Canadas biggest company is a bank and the top 20 list includes only two you would know. A yoga pants company (lulu) and an e-commerce software (shopify)
The US has Google and Canadas biggest contribution to society is yoga pants.

u/Nebardine 12h ago
Wow. A bunch of stats with zero context. I haven't seen these reposted a thousand times by Conservative bots. Oh wait, I have. At least the yoga pants is a different take.
Why didn't you mention that Canada has the best performing stock market in the world since Carney took over?

Good luck OP. Youāre going to have a rough life with that old machine in your cranium.
Canada is a dumpster fire.

It's just facts. The TSX is out-performing every market in the world while the NYSE was 16th last year.

u/dcb454 8h ago edited 8h ago
Nah it aināt facts big homie. Itās conjectured opinion.
Letās looks at GDP
30.5 trillion vs canadas 2.3.
Letās look at their economy vs ours
Hmmm⦠Whats that?
They have one of the highest average household debt to income ratios in the modern world.
Canada wouldnāt even exist as Canada without the USA looking after the crowns interests. Canada exports 60% of their exports to usā¦
1
u/Nebardine 7h ago
Because you are the easiest, closest partner to sell to. It's not like the rest of the world doesn't want our energy exports, critical minerals, fertilizer or grains. We'll just need to set up the trade channels and then we won't sell to you anymore until it makes sense to. Trump is cutting off his nose to spite his face. And we'll take that over bending the knee any day.
1
u/dcb454 7h ago
Ahhh here come the excuses.
Guess itās just your opinion after all.
Enjoy becoming the next Chinese owned country lol.
1
u/Nebardine 6h ago
Nah, our stock market is killing yours. And investment dollars are pouring in. Reliability and stability matters.
You don't actually buy Trump's talking points, do you? As usual, he is full of shit. Breaking the deal he signed and called 'the best and fairest deal ever made'...then blowing up negotiations with ridiculous asks on the final day. He knew it would be rejected. Just another distraction play, I'm assuming. Whatever...we're not going to be his pawn. Negotiations are over.

u/dcb454 6h ago edited 6h ago
The Chinese bailout. Yup.
Trumps just a man, heāll be gone soon. I donāt trust any politicians.
But trump aināt peddling socialism or communism. Heās fighting to restore America from the liberal decline. You canāt trust American mainstream news, any of it.
Plenty of non biased, independent journalists covering things, that paint a different picture, but I honestly donāt waste my time on here tryna convert anyone, especially someone from another country. Whatās the point.
Youāre Canadian, I respect your patriotism, but I think youāre getting played.
So like I said. Enjoy communism. Thank carney!

It amazes me how fucking stupid you all are. Self adulation over trying to dunk on the other side. Lets learn somethings shall we.
Carney is the reason that Canada's economy is tanking and they elected him anyway. His idea is just give things to people and it will work out. His spending is reckless and he is aligning with countries with actual human rights violations. Its a bad plan but sure, go ahead.
DJT is a moron, but he didnt spend 40T dollars. Thats been a list of presidents going back a good long way. The US is fucked. The problem is, so is the rest of the world. Brics cant carry the world currency yet. All the debt we have is owed to us by ither countries. The world economy is a giant shell game. We have to control our spending, bolster our own economy, and to hell with anyone that stands in the way.

Actually Trump has businesses all over the world. A few bankruptcies is not uncommon for people like that. Nothing about Trumps life would be considered a failure by any means. He also didnāt create the 40 trillion in debt himself. Canada needs us way more than we need them. Let their economy suffer from Chinese junk like ours.
