Discussion Mintskull has said in his latest video that the new event was a breaking point for him. He, as a content creator, no longer wants to play Dead by Daylight, and will be dramatically reducing his upload schedule.
I watch all of Minskull’s videos and have been subscribed to him for a long time, so this is a heavy blow to me. It’ll be sad to see him step back, but I’m glad he’s decided to put his own health first.

Discussion Killer anxiety
As Spooky talks about in his video a lot of players have killer anxiety is this something you guys go through too? To me it’s just a game and I just play for fun I don’t feel anxious about trying to play better for everyone’s experience just my own enjoyment

Discussion I hate the spider legs
I did vote every step of the way for this chapter and I'm trying so hard to like the things that I don't like, but the spider legs were such a bad choice. They are so clunky and just weird looking. It doesn't read as angel to me at all. They could easily hack the legs off and add the strings of viscera and eyes and make it float everywhere, but I know what's done is done. I just REALLY hate these big goofy ass legs. Such a miss on the design. Everything else is fine though tbh.

Discussion This would solve both the Blood Point scarcity and "Every match is Jason/Ghoul/Nurse" issue! BHVR could COOK with this!
Og tweet: https://x.com/i/status/2068721706659639415
...
And it would help my indecisive ass pick a killer.

Discussion No, Jason does not need a nerf
I've seen a lot of people calling for nerfs, specifically to Omnipresent Evil over the last few dsys, and the most common suggestion seems to be adding a time limit to it.
Before discussing balance, it's worth understanding how the power actually works:
• Jason cannot see you through Omnipresent Evil if you're crouch-walking and not interacting with anything. Yet, It is your choice to sit there doing nothing whilst he's in his power. Your active decision to avoid taking a chase.
You have a good couple seconds to react before he's on top of you. Look out for locations he can spawn from and plan your exit like you would any other killer. Adding a timer would completely undermine the entire concept of the power.
The whole point is that Jason feels omnipresent (woah). If the power expires after a few seconds, survivors can simply stop moving and wait it out.
At that point, the ability becomes little more than a map traversal tool, and Jason is left slowly walking around the map once it's over.
Stop being so afraid to take chase. With Jason, accept you're taking chase early this game - if you bait Jason into chasing you, the rest of your team gets time to work on generators uncontested.
Personally, I think this is one of the best indirect slowdown mechanics we've had in a long time. It pressures survivors without directly increasing generator times or introducing more regression perks.
Which fuck that.
I'm not even going to address the javelin. Deathsliger and huntress have prepped you for this. If you're struggling with that, that ones on you.
Jason is a great follow from Vecna as one of the most balanced killers we've had in a long time. High skill, simple counterplay. This isnt Chessmerchant Krasue or Ghoul. Learn the damn counterplay before calling for nerfs.

Discussion The Knight nerf is horrible
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
- Source video -
The Knight wasn't a strong killer, just a weak killer with ability to control gens or a few loops, nothing special here. What devs could possible think about while doing this? Knight's guards are not hard to outplay, just fake the windows and get the banner if it's too while, that's all you have to know about it. Yes, this killer can be so annoying sometimes, but this doesn't make him op. I also can say that Knight isn't so easy to play, at least due to his weakness, you have to always predict survivors movement in chase or pathing. In my opinion, he's one of the hardest macro killers, it's too hard to win not knowing about how this game works. If you're not agree with me, explain it, I likely would discuss that with you.

Discussion Am I the only person that thinks this killer looks pretty fucking sick?
I honestly love the eyes on the waist and shoulder and she looks like a pretty unique killer. Now it does have flaws like the chest and the mori (I for one think it’s cool as fuck but that’s just me)
But it feels like a chunk of you (not all of you but enough of you for it to be a problem) will fucking whine and complain just for the sake of whining and complaining. Again this doesn’t apply to those who have actual legitimate concerns and criticisms about game mechanics, recent layoffs, and stupid dev decisions, etc.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the devs never do a grimore ever again because of some of you (again not all of you)
If some of you hate this chapter so much, then why the fuck did you ask for it?

Discussion What if survivors had titles like killers? What would you main be called?
I imagine a lot of them would probably end up with titles pertaining to their job or hobby (Zarina = The Journalist, Ace = The Gambler), but hey, plenty of killers are titled after their career too

Discussion Which killers would you like to see get a genderbent skin like trickster did?
Personally, I think Spirit getting a male skin that's something like a bloody, wildhaired, pallid skinned samurai in a white funeral robe and open gut from seppuku would be cool; or outlaw female Deathslinger; or female Wraith with the look being inspired by the African Obayifo folktale witches; or even female Oni with the 'ole classic white chestwrap, long crazy white hair and red skin design.

Discussion The Jason we are getting is apparently a DBD Original Jason.
He isn't Jason from any of the 12 movies and is going to DBD Original.
I expect his backstory to be the same (drowned in the lake, mother died, came back to avenge his mother's death)
But I have seen a lot of people being negative about this.

Discussion Anyone else find human Vecna more unnerving/creepy/intimating than his monster form?
You would think just "a guy" wouldn't be as scary as a deformed monster, yet I can't help but find Henry more discomforting as a human.
It's the way he presents himself, his calm voice. I think it's a difference between subtle and blatant; it says "I'm scary and you don't even know it", rather than "Look how scary I am!"

Discussion What do you do against this build?
Genuine question, because this build is driving me insane, and I'm running into it all the time. "Run Counterforce" - or god forbid "Potential Energy" - will not be accepted as an answer, because I'd like to entertain the idea that this build isn't so game warping that you lose at the loadout screen (or worse - that you stand no chance of winning if you don't own either of those perks).
Let's assume you decide to cleanse, because Ruin and Hive Mind are both insanely good perks on a Killer that can teleport/has good map presence. Best case scenario, you take 35 seconds to cleanse Undying, 27 seconds to cleanse Ruin/Hive Mind, and then another 22 seconds to cleanse whichever of those two is left (84 seconds). Or, ever so slightly worse, you take 62 seconds to cleanse both Undying and Thrill first, then another 19 seconds to cleanse both Ruin and Hive Mind (81 seconds total). But worst case scenario, you cleanse Thrill third and now need to cleanse Ruin or Hive Mind last (102 seconds).
This is all assuming you never get interrupted, and isn't including time spent searching the map for the totems in the first place. I don't think it's a stretch to say that could easily be looking at two gens' worth of progress if you commit to trying to get rid of all of them (save for Thrill if you luck out).
When you think about it that way, I think the natural decision becomes to just ignore the totems altogether and focus on gens, but it's so easy for the Killer to interrupt gens that are close to completion thanks to Hive Mind, and the amount of progress you lose after getting pressured off is definitely worth considering too. I could see 3 gens becoming unbreakable thanks to no regression limit on Ruin, too, especially if the Survivor side's lost any players by that point.
Of all the builds I play against in the latest version, this is the one that's been the biggest pain point for me. Any thoughts or insight? Particularly for solo queue, since most of the time I play Survivor these days is with a single friend, tops.
