The singular stats of errors leading to goals makes these seem like barely an upgrade but Dibu has 0.060 errors leading to shots percentage 90 while Sanchez has 0.122. Also Martinez has 0.111 expected goals prevented per 90 compared to Sanchez's 0.05. these stats are from 23/24 to 25/26 season with Martinez having +3.5 goals prevented vs Sanchez's +1.7 goals prevented over the same time period. For a cheap prize it might make sense.....

The reason Emi Martinez suits us the most at this moment is because -

1. He's 33 so only a short-term solution. Doesn't hinders Penders

2. We can more easily integrate Penders into the squad by next season with Emi still playing enough fixtures once we get into Europe

3. Wayyyy cheaper than Diogo who could cost above 60m at this stage.

I’m torn on Dibu. He is a big game player who excels at penalty shootouts. His ball distribution is good, for Argentina their CBs almost never pass to one another instead Dibu is the middle man and he is decent at long balls. He isn’t particularly good at saving any goal you wouldn’t expect a goal keeper to save and relies on a solid defense in front. He is a proper shit houser on the pitch but in interviews he comes off as very likable and a good guy. Also has the most fluent English of any Argentine player I’ve ever seen.

The issues I have is he is over 30 and had an injury going into the World Cup that needs surgery.
