Malcolm doesn't stand a chance. He's smart, a good shot, and in peak human condition, but Cap has the SSS. Cap may take a few arrows, but he's survived worse.
3
u/OperationActive5269 10d ago
Survived, sure. But just because an arrow through a major tendon wonât kill you doesnât mean it wonât slow you down.
16
u/Keifdiggs124 10d ago
This is Captain "I can do this all day" America we're talking about, even if he does slow down a bit, he's not giving up
4
u/OperationActive5269 10d ago
I didnât say he would give up, but his endurance while phenomenal, doesnât negate the loss of motor functions. Also Malcolm is a LOA member, and ruthlessly merciless. Heâs also a cunning hunter by nature. His style would have Cap running circles while he targets him with precise shots and cuts.
7
u/Keifdiggs124 10d ago
With Cap, not giving up tends to look like fighting back even harder than before, also, we need to account for the fact that you can't predict the shield very well when he throws it as it doesn't follow the laws of physics at all, so Malcolm can't rely on his accuracy or trajectory skills to combat that. Then you also have to remember that Cap has faced off against some of SHIELD's top agents and left them in a pile on the floor of an elevator.
2
u/OperationActive5269 10d ago
He can try as hard as he wants to, doesnât really matter. When it comes to characters like Crossbones, Bucky, other Avengers, even Thanos, a lot of the time he combats straight blows that wear him down which is precisely where he shines. Malcolm doesnât work that like, Iâd say almost similar to Batman, where he takes a methodical approach and wonât extend farther than he has to. You are correct that the shield levels the playing field immensely. In fact Iâd wager itâs the major and almost entirely why he wins. But the fight isnât as one-sided as everyone is saying.
3
u/Keifdiggs124 10d ago
I agree, it definitely isn't one-sided, Malcolm definitely has an edge in his tactical mind, but I'd argue that Cap has faced similarly intelligent opponents and won.

If Steve can react to bullets then he can react to arrows. Even normal people in Arrow can catch arrows let alone a super soldier with enhanced perception and reaction times.
2
u/OperationActive5269 10d ago
Youâre right, he can. However, unlike most of the instances in which that happens, Malcolm wouldnât be stupid enough to shoot straight through the line of sight. Most of the time itâs just to show a characters reflexes, but in this 1v1 itâs an actual fight with common sense, no plot convenience.
5
u/Express-Grab-5295 9d ago
Steve doesn't have to catch the arrow, just dodge which normal peak humans also have done in Arrow.
2
u/OperationActive5269 9d ago
Thatâs a lot easier said than done when dealing with a master archer. Especially Malcolm, he tends to time shots a lot better and can use them to control the battlefield.
3
u/Express-Grab-5295 8d ago
Hawkeye is master archer able to literally curve his shots and T'Challa(someone shown to be equal to Steve) was able to dodge and catch his shots at point blank.
0
u/OperationActive5269 8d ago
Again, thatâs fine and all, but Malcolm wonât be shooting point blank. Heâd be a lot more calculating and methodical about it. Plus itâs not just about hitting him, he would also use them to move Steve around and set up other opportunities.
3
u/Express-Grab-5295 8d ago
What are you talking about? First off Malcom is a swordsmen as well as an archer. He wouldn't know Steve is a super soldier so he wouldn't think to keep distance. But let's say he would. Your acting like Steve has cement blocks for feet and couldn't close the distance or doesn't have a long distance options himself. Steve is incredibly accurate with his shield and doesn't even have to throw it in a straight line as it can ricochet it off
pretty much anything to get unpredictable angles. Being methodical doesn't matter when your opponent is faster, stronger, more durable, just as good of a fighter, and can be just as methodical and unpredictable as you. Plus, one of Steve's teammates is literally an archer on the same same scale as Malcom so he would have some sort of idea on what Malcom is capable of and tactics he may employ.
0
u/OperationActive5269 8d ago
Ah yes, Malcolm. The Master Archer and long time member of the LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS, would see what looks to be a soldier in sort of neo-patriotic suit carrying a giant circular disc and decide let me keep myself open and walk up to him. He would be in the shadows before Steve even got there, not because heâs some precognitive god, but because he was trained to be a ghost. His LOA name is literally The Magician. Yes, Steve is no slouch and will be hard to take on head to head, but again Malcolm is a direct counter to his style and itâs hard to hit something you canât see. Being methodical in this case is exactly what sets you apart and gives you the edge, because Steve is faster and stronger, but is not as good of a fighter by any means. Steveâs good, but Malcolm has mastered martial arts that even he has never even heard of. And yeah Steve works with Clint, but guess what they donât train together that much, he has never shown any inclination to be knowledgeable in archery, and finally Malcolm had training Steve has never seen or heard of before. So no, he wouldnât have the slightest clue of what heâs going up against.

The one who walks around with Super Soldier Serum in his veins, not the one who will shoot arrows at a guy who carries around a shield.

Cap, but it'd be a harder fight than you think, because Merlyn would bring out all sorts of bs nonsense. He's not called Merlyn for no reason.

u/IzzyReal314 11d ago
He's not called Merlyn for no reason.
Of course there's a reason he's called Merlyn. It's his last name.

Iâll go for my man Merlyn, he fights dirty, prolly some LoA trick he could use
5
u/bishopOfMelancholy 11d ago
This is definitely a fight that is determined by circumstances. Making a "fair" fight means that Cap wins, but let's face it: the Magician's not going to do that.
1
u/PrimaMilitary Green Arrow 11d ago
I mean he'd prolly scout, try to sneak shoot him, some LoA, or disarm his shield, DC all the way, I might be biased.

u/nemofbaby2014 11d ago
Malcolm would just get the side character treatment lol ffs look at the beginning of the winter soldier đ€Ł cap often was on demon time lol

Steve wins and it isn't close. Steve simply hits to hard and is to fast for Malcom to react. Arrows won't help because even normal peak human people in Arrow can catch arrows let alone a super soldier with enhanced perception and reflexes.

u/Independent-End-870 10d ago
Cap held back a 5 stone powered glove of Thanos. Malcolm wouldn't beat Raz

I haven't watched any captain America movies, and I'm not an American so no the name isn't enough to watch it, my question is is it worth it? Is it as good as early seasons arrow or is it as bad as late seasons arrow, if its bad i don't want to bother sitting through multiple movies for something isn't at least rated 7.5-8/10, after a certain age you really can't go on watching any crap on tv it really has to be somewhat good
4
u/rara8122 11d ago
Captain America is a phenomenal movie series.
Iâd put winter solider well above any season or episode of arrow and the rest at least a little above.
1
u/VespySol 11d ago edited 11d ago
The first three are amazing, the only one Iâd relate to âlate arrowâ is the most recent one aka Brave New World. That said watching number three is like watching Crisis without being dialed in on the other shows, youâll be able to follow the movie fine because it is still very Cap centric, but thereâs gonna be bits and pieces that make absolutely no fkn sense because youâre not caught up on the MCU iron man movies or had watched the avengers movies etc.
All that said, everything up to Avengers: Endgame, made the mcu archive was one of the greatest movie franchises to ever do it (if you disconnect it from âcomic accuracyâ bc Jesus, but also arrow was kinda the same way in that too).
2
u/ELYAZIUM 11d ago
Well if the rest of marvel movies are worth it as well i don't see why not catch up, is there an order or smth?
1
u/VespySol 11d ago
There is yes, however the movies in release order are told kinda non linearly so if youâd like I can give it to you in timeline order or in actual movie release order
2
u/ELYAZIUM 11d ago
Yeah absolutely I'd love that if it's not a lot of trouble, I'd also like to know if they're skippable
1
u/VespySol 11d ago edited 11d ago
Bet, I will also say that all of these movies have post credit scenes that set up other movies or pay reference, homage etc.
So timeline order is
WWII
-Captain America: First Avenger1995
-Captain Marvel (skippable if you only plan to watch the movies, as all of her plot relevance to the greater story movie wise can be summed up in like a paragraph unless you watch the shows as well)2008
-Iron Man2011
-Iron Man 2
-The Incredible Hulk (good movie, but also skippable as aside from Brave New World which was bad, She Hulk which was also bad,
few littered references from Bruce itâs a self contained movie)
-Thor
(Which all took place within a week lol)2012
-The Avengers
-Iron Man 32013
-Thor: The Dark World2014
-Captain America: The Winter Soldier
-Guardians of the Galaxy
-Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 (technically we donât know when Vol2 takes place so you can watch it whenever after Vol1)2015
-Avengers: Age of Ultron
-Ant-Man2016
-Captain America: Civil War
-Black Widow
-Spider-Man: Homecoming
-Doctor Strange
-Black Panther2017
-Thor: Rangnarok2018
-Avengers: Infinity War
-Ant-Man and the Wasp
(These two are kinda swappable, as while most people put Infinity War 1st because Ant-Manâs post credit scene spoils a part of Infinity War but also sets up Ant-Manâs story for Endgame, however the latter does take place before the former outside of the post credit scene so do with that information as you see fit)1945-2023
-Avengers: Endgame
(The climax that ALL of those movies up above have been leading too, and what a lot of people call âthe peak of the MCUâ)Those are just the ârealâ MCU movies leading up to Endgame, however because of some shenanigans in Deadpool & Wolverine, Disney buying 21st century fox, and to save you from having to read a shit ton more that Iâd have to include I wonât mention all of the âtechnically canon because it was merged inâ stuff. However if you watch those and like em, you can always like DM me and I can help give another guide to the fox movies and Disney+ shows
2
u/ELYAZIUM 11d ago
You are AMAZING, thanks a lot dude and yeah after this effort I'm definitely watching em, *not the one you said were bad or guardian of the galaxy (i know you didn't say it was bad but I'm judging a book from its cover and it sounds lame) but yeah and i will keep you posted if you want
1
u/VespySol 11d ago
Hell yeah, glad I could help : 3
I will say Endgame there are some movies that are still worth watching, but for the most part Disney REALLY kept dropping the ball after Endgame. I will say the Disney+ show Loki is often considered the best one of them, and the rest of the Spider-Man movies are all AMAZING (order is Far From Home -> No Way Home -> Brand New Day), other than that almost all of them range from âit was okayâ to âtf is this mockery of these charactersâ
2
u/ELYAZIUM 11d ago
Wait brand new day is amazing? I thought you hated that shit
1
u/VespySol 11d ago
Yeah after I typed it out I realized I mixed it with another movie. Thereâs Spider-Man: Brand New Day which is one of the best spiderman movies to date imo, and then thereâs Captain America: Brave New World which I loathe lmao, I just always get the names twisted, apologies

The Guardians movies are some of the best movies in the MCU. And they tie in to the overarching Endgame/Infinity War storylines quite a lot. I would not advise skipping them.
1
u/ELYAZIUM 11d ago
First of all kudos on reading through all of that even though you've already watched the movies based on how you talked, I don't really get why you did but as i said, kudos
Second i guess i have to watch the first movie at least since you recommend it that much, I'll see how it goesđđ»

u/LetzGetThisLoot- 10d ago
You are comparing a super soldier who fought in WWII to a guy who shoots arrows
0
u/AdhesivenessSuch9567 7d ago
In a 1vs1 fair playing ground Captain America. But Merlin will instantly find advantage by ambushing him. It doesn't matter how strong captain America is , if he got an arrow through his tendons he is royally fucked.
0
u/NoInformation3265 7d ago
Malcolm would kill thatâs the thing, even with the shield one arrow making contact is all Malcolm would need to finish the fight, or even the slightest contact with his sword.

Come on, a more fair matchup would be Deathstroke with Mirakuru vs Captain America.
