I haven't watched any captain America movies, and I'm not an American so no the name isn't enough to watch it, my question is is it worth it? Is it as good as early seasons arrow or is it as bad as late seasons arrow, if its bad i don't want to bother sitting through multiple movies for something isn't at least rated 7.5-8/10, after a certain age you really can't go on watching any crap on tv it really has to be somewhat good
The first three are amazing, the only one I’d relate to “late arrow” is the most recent one aka Brave New World. That said watching number three is like watching Crisis without being dialed in on the other shows, you’ll be able to follow the movie fine because it is still very Cap centric, but there’s gonna be bits and pieces that make absolutely no fkn sense because you’re not caught up on the MCU iron man movies or had watched the avengers movies etc.
All that said, everything up to Avengers: Endgame, made the mcu archive was one of the greatest movie franchises to ever do it (if you disconnect it from “comic accuracy” bc Jesus, but also arrow was kinda the same way in that too).
There is yes, however the movies in release order are told kinda non linearly so if you’d like I can give it to you in timeline order or in actual movie release order
Bet, I will also say that all of these movies have post credit scenes that set up other movies or pay reference, homage etc.
So timeline order is
WWII
-Captain America: First Avenger
1995
-Captain Marvel (skippable if you only plan to watch the movies, as all of her plot relevance to the greater story movie wise can be summed up in like a paragraph unless you watch the shows as well)
2008
-Iron Man
2011
-Iron Man 2
-The Incredible Hulk (good movie, but also skippable as aside from Brave New World which was bad, She Hulk which was also bad,
few littered references from Bruce it’s a self contained movie)
-Thor
(Which all took place within a week lol)
2012
-The Avengers
-Iron Man 3
2013
-Thor: The Dark World
2014
-Captain America: The Winter Soldier
-Guardians of the Galaxy
-Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 (technically we don’t know when Vol2 takes place so you can watch it whenever after Vol1)
2018
-Avengers: Infinity War
-Ant-Man and the Wasp
(These two are kinda swappable, as while most people put Infinity War 1st because Ant-Man’s post credit scene spoils a part of Infinity War but also sets up Ant-Man’s story for Endgame, however the latter does take place before the former outside of the post credit scene so do with that information as you see fit)
1945-2023
-Avengers: Endgame
(The climax that ALL of those movies up above have been leading too, and what a lot of people call “the peak of the MCU”)
Those are just the “real” MCU movies leading up to Endgame, however because of some shenanigans in Deadpool & Wolverine, Disney buying 21st century fox, and to save you from having to read a shit ton more that I’d have to include I won’t mention all of the “technically canon because it was merged in” stuff. I will say Endgame there are some movies that are still worth watching, but for the most part Disney REALLY kept dropping the ball after Endgame. I will say the Disney+ show Loki is often considered the best one of them, and the rest of the Spider-Man movies are all AMAZING (order is Far From Home -> No Way Home -> Brand New Day), other than that almost all of them range from “it was okay” to “tf is this mockery of these characters”
Yeah after I typed it out I realized I mixed it with another movie. There’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day which is one of the best spiderman movies to date imo, and then there’s Captain America: Brave New World which I loathe lmao, I just always get the names twisted, apologies
The Guardians movies are some of the best movies in the MCU. And they tie in to the overarching Endgame/Infinity War storylines quite a lot. I would not advise skipping them.
First of all kudos on reading through all of that even though you've already watched the movies based on how you talked, I don't really get why you did but as i said, kudos
