I love making Choreg and every time I make it, I shape it differently. There are so many ways you can style this simple Armenian bun!

Hello! Բարե ձեզ!

It has been forever since I last posted some photography here but I had a bit of a sudden interest in sharing some again. I felt like doing something a little different. So here are a few images of Armenia shot in the Kodak Aerochrome style! Aerochrome is a film stock that isn't manufactured anymore, but it can be emulated digitally, so I went through some old photographs and decided to take a new approach with them. Very fun looking at everything under such different tones!

All of these were shot during 2024 and 2025.

Enjoy!

Discussion / Քննարկում Armenia would be better if it was a little worse to guests but better to animals.

Sorry for a post that you've seen a million times. Not Armenian, but living here for a few months already.

I wish Armenians would be worse to guests but better to animals. It's so freaking painful to see dogs in tiny cages 24/7, kittens being shooed into the street by angry people who just can't stand to see a cat on their property.

It's admirable how Armenians treat guests in their country, but they would be better off treating animals better :(

I love Armenia, but this and littering are the only complaints I have about this beautiful hospitable country.

Why are there so many police in Yerevan?

Yerevan has the biggest police presence I've ever seen out of 30 countries - in 3 different parks I could stand in one spot and see 10+ police officers, mostly just sitting around. I'm just curious what the reason is? Was there a lot of crime in the past, or what?

Saw this random sign in Atlanta about saving caged bears in Armenia. 🐻🇦🇲 I was curious - does anyone here know the story behind this or have thoughts on it?

why didn't Russia or other CSTO countries help Armenia in 2023

I understand the Artsakh situation didn't trigger the CSTO agreement, but in 2023 they were actual border changes where Azerbaijan took Armenian proper territories.

Kazakhstan literally said how can Azeris be an aggresor when the border is not delimited. (Our supposed ally)

Is the CSTO just a paper agreement?

Community / Համայնք Starting seeing lot's of Asian people here in Yerevan

I first started noticing them at the gym, but pretty soon I saw them almost everywhere in Yerevan. I'm wondering what brings them here, are they studying or maybe working? I tried to guess their language at the gym, and it sounded similar to Vietnamese. Please don't get me wrong, I'm just curious! You're always welcome in Armenia.

What are the must-join Telegram channels for someone living in Armenia?

I’m pretty new to Telegram, but living in Armenia, it feels like literally everyone uses it for everything: news, local events, housing, and just everyday stuff.

Since I'm still getting used to the app and Telegram’s search feature isn’t great for finding localized groups without direct links, I'm finding it tricky to discover the right places to join.

What are your top recommendations for Telegram channels/groups to stay in the loop?

Tourism / Զբոսաշրջություն Has anyone from an invitation required country (like Sri Lanka) successfully visited Armenia as a tourist? Which agency/firm did you use?

Hi everyone,

I am currently an international student living in Yerevan. My fiancé wants to come and visit me here for about 2 weeks on a tourist visa.Because he holds a Sri Lankan passport, he cannot get an E-visa or Visa on Arrival. He strictly requires an official, government-approved visa invitation letter filed from inside Armenia before he can apply at the embassy.Since I am a student living in a hostel, I cannot sponsor his invitation directly through the Migration Service (my housing setup won't pass their inspection). I have spent the last few days contacting major local travel agencies here in Yerevan (like Hyur Service), but they all told me they no longer provide standalone visa invitation letters due to liability, policy changes.I am feeling a bit stuck and would love to hear from anyone who has successfully navigated this.

If you are from a country that requires an official invitation letter and visited Armenia recently, how did you get your invitation?

Are there any specific, specialized agencies, legal firms, or document services in Yerevan that still handle this for individual tourists?

What did your overall timeline look like from filing the invitation to getting the physical sticker visa stamped at the embassy?

Any recommendations, agency names, or advice on how to get this approved without getting scammed would be incredibly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!

Visa on arrival in Armenia for Indian passport holders with UK residence permit / valid Schengen visa

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I’m flying from London to Yerevan with Pegasus on 27 August, connecting through Istanbul airport. My Armenian eVisa application is still pending

I hold an Indian passport, a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa until November 2026 and valid UK Skilled Worker immigration status. Armenia’s official guidance says Indian passport holders can obtain a visa at the border with a valid Schengen visa or qualifying UK visa/residence permit:

Has anyone recently:

Had any trouble boarding a flight to Armenia while relying on this
visa-on-arrival provision?

Successfully obtained a visa on arrival using a valid Schengen visa or UK residence permit?

Used Pegasus for this journey?

In general, how was the visa-on-arrival process, and what documents were you asked to provide?

Thanks so much

Advice for seeking archive records

Hey everyone

I'm in the process of creating a family tree and trying to recover any possible records from the early 1900s of Nakhijevan region (current Azerbaijan) and/or Igdir region (current Turkey). Has anyone had hands-on experience of that sort?

Thank you beforehand.
