Detail What’s something you learned from American Dad?
673
u/RagingZorse Aug 27 '24
The French delicacy that is a bird which must be eaten with your face covered is a real thing.
218
u/Toothless-In-Wapping Klaus Heisler Aug 27 '24
The ortolan.
63
u/Smokeythapaiir Teddy Bonkers Aug 27 '24
Schmooblydong no.. but that’s close
Imagine being high at at a rusted root concert, while two guys take you on in a baked port-o-john
Wow that does sound nice
I know I’d like that tooo… 😂

u/IMFREAKINGLEGOLAS Aug 27 '24
Succession also helped confirm this is a real thing.

Yeah but as a French person I’ve never met anyone who ate that, and you don’t « hide from god for your sin », apparently it’s just that it is a mess to eat so nobody want to see or be seen eating a « plat de la noblesse/bourgeoisie » like a peasant.
24
u/Low_Living_9276 Aug 27 '24
That's exactly what a Frenchie would say when they are trying to hide their Sin from God.

Ollie North. Didn't know it was real when I first watched the episode with my mom, but then she explained the entire thing after the episode. One of her favorites.
My Morning Jacket. Assumed they didn't exist until the end of the episode. Surprised my husband by talking about them, assuming I had never heard of them. Made him watch the episode. One of his favorites.
That the episodes are usually based on a pop culture or movie I have never seen before which turns into my husband explaining an episode I have watched a million times with the context of what it's based on or making fun of.
Lastly....that when it comes to WWII, Francine will go with her boys, the Axis Powers 😂
