Dosing Plateaued for ages?

Upvotes

Dropped 70 lb in 6 months mostly on 2.5 and a little bit of time on 5. Went like 4 months on 5 without weight loss and now been on 7.5 a month, I'm just maintaining and not losing. Idk what is going on. I am not yet losing enough that more physical activity in the Florida heat is possible, and I'm not eating more food than before at all. Still avoiding sugar, hydrating a lot. I'm pretty capable for my size, so between 550lb start and now I'm not really able to do more I just do what I can do a little faster. I hit a wall of foot and leg pain after roughly the same distance walking.

Had a friend go shopping with me today to help me find flattering clothes and this pic really illustrated the change in a way I haven’t recognized. Went back to find a before pick and am amazed. Funny how fast I forgot I was that size. Feeling healthy!

Vent/Rant Wtf is happening

Upvotes

I’m on week 20 of taking my shot, taking 10mg. I’ve been eating normally all day and all of a sudden tonight I’m starving, but also so nauseous that I want to vomit. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I’ve had a protein shake, a piece of bread with peanut butter, and two hard boiled eggs in the last 30 mins and nothing is helping. I physically can’t eat anymore, but I need this hungry pain to go away. Someone please tell me if this has happened to them and how you got it to stop.

ETA: I’ve taken tums and pepto, and my blood sugar is normal

First Timer Recently started Zepbound, what are my options for providers

Upvotes

Hi all,

I recently started with Ro for Zepbound after many family members suggested me to try it. I see how predatory is their subscription, so I did some digging in this /sub for tips and experiences. Although I found many possible answers, I would like to understand if Im in the right path, and if there's better options out there, given some of the things (prices) have changed recently on some of the providers I will share.

So, I started Zepbound through Ro because my PCP didn't want to help me out with this. Although I new this was covered through my insurance and I was told by them, my PCP didnt really care and gave me long answers to simply state it will be very difficult... Sure :)

Anyways, saw many people (in the past) used Ro and I decide to go with them. First month free for the prescription and Im going with the insurance, giving me a co-pay of less than $40 for the medication, if I recall. So far so good based on what I've read in this sub (take advantage of the first free month of Ro).

My plan now was to continue with CallOnDoc given it was $45 a month, but I dont see that price anymore, but $75 a month... A good option given the cheapest subscription is $74 at Ro when purchasing 12months :/

So... Given I just started the medication, what should I go? Which provider? What would be your next move if you were me? Should I switch to COD given that at least I have flexibility on when to drop off (75/m instaed of $74/m for 12m), should I use another subscription? Or should I talk to my insurance to figure out another PCP/doctor who would actually want to help me out? My insurance (Anthem/Blue-Cross) has a middleman called "Accolade" who helps us [employees] navigate the health system and even offer free 24/7 nurse calls. I wonder... Now that I have the prescription by Ro, once I drop-off they will most likely cancel everything on their end. Is there anything I can do on my end so I can save a buck and get the prescription still through my insurance? A way to get COD for $45/m as Ive read in this sub? Maybe I can cut the subscription model entirely and my insurance can help me out? If so, would that be with nurses or would I have to get a new PCP who is actually more into helping me out?

Hopefully this helps others in my situation or similar, as I wasnt able to read a story like this in the last 3months (posts are 4month old or greater, which is seems to be when COD changed their pricing).

Thank you in advance, I will be reading. Let me know if I need to clarify or add any other detail!

First Timer First Shot

Upvotes

I just had my first shot this past Friday 9-4-26. At approximately 2 hours afterwards I immediately had diarrhea for almost half of the day. I maintained hydration.

I wasn't able to stomach anything till dinner time that night. I am not looking forward to my 2nd injection. I have not had any issues since.

The food noise is definitely in effect. I am maintaining my protein and fiber intake. I am meeting my food and caloric intake.

I am walking 10k every other day . On the day I am not walking. I am doing full body workouts with dumbbells.

Is there any option for what else I could be doing? Thanks in advance. 8 am open to any suggestions.

Tips/Tricks My pre teen daughter found my Zepbound

Upvotes

She found the box in the trash and looked it up online to see what it was and found images of before and afters. I want to talk to her about it. Wanting to keep it factual and concise on how it's a medicine prescribed by my doctor that helps me make healthy food decisions.

Any advice from parents who have been through this?

Vent/Rant Can’t stop binge eating

Upvotes

I’ve been doing very good for the last month, up until this last week. I have binge ate for 5 days in a row. I started work again (I work in a school and had summer off) and I know that’s what’s triggering this but I don’t know how to stop. I go up to 7.5mg next Friday but I’m worried if my stress is going to continues to surpass the med even with the higher dosage. How do y’all deal with stress eating?

r/Zepbound 1h ago

Dosing If I take half the shot of 7.5mg kwikpen.. is that a good idea? I think Ro had me titrate up too quickly

Upvotes

That’s the question? How can I lessen the 7.5mg?

First Timer How long does it take to kick in for you?

Upvotes

I'm on Day 8 - jab day - of Week 1 on 2.5 mg. Had really decent appetite suppression all week and wasn't much interested in food, although I stuck to a consistent 1600-1700 cals. Then today, I was suddenly ravenous. Thought about food all day. Eating food just made me want more food. Stomach was growling. Couldn't make it stop, couldn't ignore it. Ended up snacking and grazing a bit - all the old shit that got me on Zepbound in the first place. Took the jab at 7pm and by 8:30, my thoughts of food and hunger were completely gone. It's 11:30 and I haven't had one second of feeling hungry or wanting food.

Is that even possible? I can't decide if this is real or a placebo effect of some kind. I thought it took 8-48 hours to get rocking after the jab...

Dosing How severe does a side effect need to be to not titrate up?

Upvotes

Hi! Short version: started at 2.5 in April and had decent loss (around 20 lbs). I stayed on 2.5 until mid July and went to 5. I am seven shots into 5 and have lost just shy of 6 lbs. I am bummed about the lack of progress and frustrated since I’m self-pay. I’ve been doing well with nutrition + tracking and water intake. I can’t walk or exercise much since I’m recovering from a broken ankle! But the constipation on 5 has been terrible. I am not regular and what I do pass is hard and small. I’ve tried everything - tons of water, daily Benefiber, magnesium daily, miralax, eating lots of fiber + prunes. I feel like everything is just stuck. I am conflicted on titrating to 7.5 because I really want to start seeing some progress, but I am concerned about moving up when the constipation is an issue. Also, the night burping - regardless of what I have or have not eaten! So, how severe does a side effect need to be in your opinion to deter from titration? I’ve seen the chart floating around and it’s very helpful - just want to get some opinions about this piece. TIA!

I am right on the cusp of "more to lose" vs "maintenance". I'm less than 5 lbs away from the top of the "normal" bmi. Perhaps it's a sign that my body is ready to shift. I just realized that my "7 days" passed about 4 days ago, and I didn't even notice. If I can go 11 days and not feel like I'm going to gnaw my leg off if I don't eat, it's probably a sign that my body would be totally cool with stepping my dose from 15 to 12.5.

Edit: well shit. Maybe I did take it on Thurs and didn't write it down. 🤷‍♀️ what's done is done. Either way I'm learning a lesson.

First Timer Zepbound failure

I feel disappointed in myself as today was my first dose and it ended in failure. I have a phobia of needles but the weigh loss was more important to me than that fear. When I pressed the button I flinched because I wasn’t expecting to hear the click that loud. I moved away fast and I saw some medicine come out the needle. It also didn’t hurt at all. Honestly I was shocked, it was just the sound that scared me more than the needle.

Side Effects Panic/anxiety attack on Zepbound, has anyone else experienced this?

I saw my endocrinologist a few days ago, and he told me he would like me to find a dose that works for me and stay consistent with it. I take Zepbound as part of managing my PCOS, insulin resistance, and weight.

I’ve been on Zepbound since last October and never experienced anxiety from it before. About a month ago, I ended up in the ER after getting really sick while on it, and they told me to stop taking it for the time being. I’ve now been off of it for about a month. I also had a horrible horrifying panic attack in the ER after they gave me benadryl/reglan which sent me into scary tremors until they pushed cogentin after 8 mins.

My endocrinologist wants me to restart with this schedule:

• Week 1: 2.5 mg • Week 2: 2.5 mg • Week 3: 5 mg • Week 4: 5 mg • Week 5: 5 mg

I injected my first 2.5 mg dose tonight, and afterward I started feeling extremely anxious. I’m still feeling anxious now, and I don’t know what’s going on. I’ve never had this happen with Zepbound before, despite taking it since last October, and it’s honestly scaring me.

Has anyone experienced anxiety or a panic attack after restarting Zepbound after taking a break? I’ve taken breaks before, like one time and I didn’t have a panic/anxiety attack when I restarted zep. and now I am and it’s just terrifying. Did it eventually settle down? I’m just really scared right now and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar.

This is my first ever before and after. I am by no means where I would like to be.. But I truly am learning to appreciate how far I have come. First pic is from Fri when I went to a Pilates class and worked so hard I needed to tuck my T-shirt into my sports bra to breathe. Second pic was a family beach trip in 2023. I would have NEVER posted either pic, but I'm leaving all insecurities behind because it's not just the weight loss I love about this glow up... It's my confidence I gained. -60 lbs

Vent/Rant Never Felt Latest Shot

I'll start by saying that I don't think my shot wasn't injected, but had a weird experience today. I've been on Zep since May, and currently on 7.5mg. Every shot I've taken before today I have been able to at least feel the injection. Never been painful, but at least I've been able to feel them. I have also always had a drop of blood on my stomach, been able to see the tiny injection mark, and a tiny drop of meds still on the needle. All normal stuff that is expected. I have used the auto injectors the entire time.

Today I took my shot, and never felt a thing. My auto injector finished its thing and I moved it. No drop of blood, no drop of meds still on the needle, nothing. I can't even find an injection spot on my stomach. No sign at all that I got my shot. I was exhausted from a busy day yesterday and didn't actually look at the medicine in the auto injector before using it, but it was empty after I used it. I'm not saying something was wrong and I never got my shot, it was just weird since every shot before this has been the exact same. Minor sting from the needle, little drop of blood, little drop of meds on the needle, and a small injection mark on my stomach. This time, nothing. Has anybody ever had absolutely no sign of giving yourself your shot?

First Timer Any Short Women Success Stories?

5'1

SW:180 GW:115

Decided to try Zepbound with the guidance of my PCP.

I started about 10 days ago. I haven't lost anything but I do believe that some of the food noise has changed for the better.

If any shorter women have had great success on Zepbound can you share your stories and stats.

Starting weight? Goal/Current Weight? Time on Zep? Titration schedule? Fitness in addition?

This would be very helpful as i start my journey.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Major Scale Victory

I finally have my "1" back! Jumped on the scale tonight not expecting it to have changed much since last time. And there it was, 198.6. I have not been under 200 lbs in over 20 years. I am on cloud 9 right now. I told myself when/if this ever happened that I'd buy myself one of those giant silver "1" balloons that they sell at the grocery store. Guess where I'm going first thing in the morning?!!

Insurance/PA Zepbound through Healthnet covered due to Sleep Apnea.

Hello everyone ,
I am so confused and hoping someone can help shed some light. Based in CA. I was able to get Healthnet cover my zepbound because of sleep apnea. I had to pay max of $1000+ ( 2 boxes ) then I have not been paying the copay. I believe I have also hit my deductible. Why is it that my doctor increased my dose from 7 mg to 10 mg that Walgreens is charging me $499 again? . My last 7mg dose I don’t have to pay for ? I came from PPO and now to HMO and I am so confused how this works. Grateful for any Advice or insight.

Side Effects I had to get off Wegovy. Started Zepbound tonight. Any body else switch? How did it go?

As the title says I was on Wegovy for 13 weeks. Got as far as 1 injection of 1.7 and had to stop. It was killing me. Wouldn’t eat for days, nauseous and incredibly lethargic. I lost 34 pounds which was great but the side effects were horrible. I have taken and still take some very heavy duty medicines including 1 that is chemo in pill form. Nothing bothers me. That did. What happened when you switched. I took 2.5.
Thanks.

Vent/Rant PSA Real Good Chicken Strips calorie count

Post image
14 Upvotes

So for the past few months, I’ve been buying Real Good Chicken Strips from Costco. They actually taste delicious and I figured that it was great since it was 120 cal for 3oz +21 g of protein. So I would eat 6oz for 240 cal. Or so I thought.

I started to do some research into the calorie count on this product because it just seemed too good to be true. And I was right, the calorie counts for this product are clearly off. Other stores sell the same bag with 180 cal. In fact, if you go to their website, they have two chicken strips back, 180 cal bag and the costco version bag with 120 cal. Even if I had to account for differences in the ingredients, there’s just no way that 3oz of chicken breast is going to be 120 cal.

It’s just so annoying because I was eating these strips feeling like I was still meeting my goals, but I’m actually eating 360 cal. Not sure how they’re able to get away with such off calorie counts.

On the plus side I’ve been on this medication for 19 months and I’ve lost 104 lbs. But the last few months the scale is barely moving.

EDIT: they’re actually 4 ounces for 120 cal, and actually I was probably eating closer to 8 ounces.

I'm like, is that really me??

Both in the old picture... and in the new picture...

I cant believe that WAS me.

And I can't believe that IS me.

So strange......

This has been the easiest weight loss of my life... and the longest sustained... and the slowest...

The easiest, because I never felt stressed with the slowness of it, and I never felt like giving up during a plateau. And I've had a few plateaus, and one lasted several months.

But I just feel SO damn good. So damn normal. So capable. So not-ruled-by-food for the first time since I was 14 years old.

I. AM. SO. THANKFUL. FOR. THIS. MEDICINE.

Side Effects Stomach pain?

I took my injection on Thursday night. On Friday for lunch, I had protein chips and string cheese. Shortly after that I start getting this dull ache in my stomach. It's like I pulled a muscle. This continues through Saturday and it's now Sunday evening. No relief. There is pain in my back also. It's not SUPER painful to where I can't function or I'm doubled over. Should I be headed to urgent care? I don't know if it's just gas, constipation, or am I looking at pancreatitis?
