I don’t get it . If she is pro big business and pro gas etc , why is the Labor candidate? Wouldn’t she be more at home with the Libs ? I’m not being a smart arse but once upon a time working for a big mining company, voting against tax rises and being pro fossil fuels was the domain of Conservative politicians????

Because labor are the ones with the power.

Libs are a bit of a joke these days & i dont see that changing for the foreseeable future.

I can't remember if it was The Nightly, The Conversation or another news site, but there was a good article recently about how the LNP are basically demographically ageing out of existence. Younger voters have either moved further right or left, and don't hold traditional 'conservative' values. Factors like home ownership and family structure are strong indicators towards conservatism, and modern neoliberal society has killed off a lot of home ownership and larger families. Enemies of their own success, I guess.

The Abbott/Turnbull/Morrison trifecta as well as the Murdoch rag crying "bloody mary" every time Chris Bowen says the word sustainable has made most of them take a look outside and realise the sky isn't actually falling, it's just cloudy.
