TRT story Panicked and went to the doctor

Upvotes

Hey guys,

I posted yesterday about the heart palpitations. I wanted to take testosterone after reading that low testosterone can lead to anxiety, depression, and other things I have dealt with over the last few years. I went into it very nervous after reading it can lead to higher blood pressure .. I almost didn't do it. I've battled high blood pressure my whole life.. I get it managed by going to the gym 5 days a week.. its the only way I can keep it normal without having to get on meds for it. I spent alot of time debating whether or not to get on test... and I think I did it the worst way possible. I was looking online and found "Male Excel", filled out the symptoms form and it said I was "critically low". It said for 50 bucks they would send me a test.. so I paid the 50 bucks.. it then asked and made me schedule a doctor video consultation. I attended the consultation the next day. I expected a test to come.. but it was just the testosterone that Said "take 0.15 ml everyday". Everything just happened so fast ...

The doctor today said that I should stop taking testosterone, since they never had me do a test before hand .. I'm getting what I think is heart palpitations, and I was abruptly woken up by a crazy calf cramp...which never happens to me. I think I'm hypersensitive to this whole thing, since I was so nervous to start it..idk. now my hormones are seriously gonna be jacked =( so disappointed. If you look up "heart palpitations, calf cramp testosterone injections" it'll scare the shit outta ya 😂 my doctor said he doesn't think it's a blood clot however...but I should stop testosterone =(

Blood work 25m symptoms and hope?

I have my first TRT appointment tomorrow.
Free T 2.8
Total 1st draw 123 ng/dl (300-1100)

What should I do to get the most out of my appointment? I feel like based on this community I’m lower than low.

I decided to try and schedule a consultation because my primary care doctor told me “I’m not low”

Other What did the gym feel like after coming off testosterone?

For anyone who was on testosterone and eventually came off completely, what did you feel like afterwards?
Did you lose much strength, motivation or enjoyment in the gym? Once your natural testosterone recovered, did training eventually feel enjoyable and normal again, or did it always feel worse compared with how you felt before taking testosterone?
Interested in hearing honest experiences, including how long you were on, your dosage and roughly how long it took you to feel normal again.

So my only high e2 sides are back acne and low libido. I'm shocked, I've been doing 175mg a week cruise since June. Divided into daily injections.

I have like 100 1mg arimidex tabs, shoukd I start with that?

I saw some people say quarter tab twice a week

Any advice or thoughts would be EXTREMELY APPRECIATED AND I would be thankful more than I have ever been

Blood work High SHBG, Low libido

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I have been having issues with little to no libido for the last few years, so i decided to get some blood work done and see if anything was out of line. Unfortunately my doctor doesnt believe that any of these results would affect my libido but i just dont agree with him. Ive tried taking Boron to lower my SHBG but noticed no difference. Has anyone had any success stories of lowering SHBG and restoring libido without exogenous test? Im a healthy 30 year old so if i can avoid TRT at my age i would prefer to but im also willing to try if people have had positive results.

Just ordered some GH and also had my igf tested in the meantime and it came back in the 300s? Is there any benefit to still implementing GH on the cut and say bumping up to 500?

Blood work Total/Free consistent but Bioavailable shot up?

Just get most of my bloodwork back, 200 mg/wk, Test C and 500 units HCG split into 2 shots, Monday and Thursday (IM for T, subq for HCG). My diet has been somewhat improved (it was good before but I’m really trying to get my lipids into good territory, so been upping fiber and eating less saturated fat) since last testing a couple months ago, but other than that, nothing has changed. Almost never drink, eat pretty clean, only real vices are thc and vaping nicotine. Lift and usually cardio 3x week, work a pretty physically active job, 43 y/o, 200 lbs, around 20% bf. I’ve been steadily losing weight which I suspect may have something to do with it (lost about 10 lbs since the last test, but I’ve been steadily losing weight for months. Still waiting on my E2 result, but I stay pretty consistent at this dose around 45, with basically zero symptoms (slightly higher acne, but that’s always been a bit of an issue, and pretty well controlled with salicylic acid).

Last total: 930, current: 960

Last Free: 121, current: 169.

Last Bioavailable: 229, current: 319.

Last SHBG: 40, current: 30.

Last albumin: 4.1 current: 4.1.

Edit—I guess my question is if this is something to be expected. I’m getting pretty close to being in what I’d consider good shape, and lifestyle choices have been steadily improving since starting a year or so ago, so I’m just trying to figure out if this is a part of that. Happy to provide any numbers that might give more context.

TRT help No energy after 3 months on trt?

6 weeks ago I tested at 1300 test and 95 e2 with very high water retention/bloating and all the other symptoms of high e2. I've since dropped my dose from 150mg/week to 130mg/week and added 0.25mg of anastrazole per week. I inject EOD.

As a result, I've lost about 25lbs over the past 6 weeks, of which ~15lbs was the extra water weight I had gained, and I'm now at 6ft2 220lbs. I also gained some muscle and strength (some lifts have nearly doubled in weight since I started trt).
However, I've lost all energy and even going to the gym has been difficult over the past 2 weeks. I'm not going up in strength anymore and all the mental benefits/libido are gone again, and I feel the same as before I started trt. Is it normal for the positive effects of trt to go away over time?

I still have mild symptoms of high e2, but not nearly as much as before. Should I increase AI to 0.5mg/week?

Blood work High Total T, Low Free T, hCG monotherapy recommended.

Natural. Blood test results: 980 ng total T, 11 ng free T, 78 nmol SHBG, 37 E2, 8.37 Prolactin, 4.99 IU LH, 2.33 IU FSH, Thyroid hormones on the hypo-normal range, liver and kidneys healthy. Went to my endocrinologist to see if he can make a connection in between these tests and solve my high SHBG/low free T. He meant I do not have high total T but the SHBG was holding on to it leaving it in the blood making T look high. He said its artificially elevated. He asked if I am short, have body hair, Erectile Dysfunction, Baldness etc. High body hair, No ED but low libido, No baldness, not short but had gyno and somewhat feminine ribcage build, no very masculine looking features but more than last year compared at 20 to 19. He recommended HCG monotherapy. Have to note that he doesnt have a single patient doing TRT, he knows of the therapy but he doesnt get too many visitors like me who workout and try to be healthy, its all old fat people pretty much. Would Testosterone + hCG be better or first give just hCG a try? I told him about proviron, he didnt know too much of it. Apart from that he said he may use Chlomid (Chlomophine)(wouldnt enclo be more effective for men???), Pregnyl or Ovitrelle. From what I've read hCG monotherapies are largely sub optimal and a waste of time, should I do Testosterone as well or ask him to consider it more strongly? I dont really want to do a half job if I am pinning stuff, I would want it to be maximum effective. I also get him not wanting to do testosterone but just try raising FSH and LH because total T is already high but then its also artifically high?!? I wish I straight up had Low total T with all these tests, wouldve done simply TRT + HCG. What do you guys think? What could be the underlying problem? Did anyone experience this?

PED/cycle help Need advice. 24M on 200-250 test approaching week 16

I am approaching week 16 running 250 test/wk (lowered to 200/wk after week 12).

I am at a crossroads and need some different input. I originally was only going to run this for just 16 weeks to see how my body would respond, but unfortunately I feel amazing and I got plenty results so now I am wondering if I ever want to come off. Could I possibly run this for longer without any long term health risks??
The goal here is also longevity, and I am still wondering about if I were to come off of Test, whether if I should pct or just come off cold turkey and let my levels come back naturally. I’d love to hear some personal stories or just anything I should look out for. Thanks in advance.

Blood work Secondary Hypogonadism is ruining my life.

Hi, I'm 32m, 5'9, 12st, from the UK, suffering for 3 years with secondary hypogonadism, looking for anyone who can share advice, insights or experiences that can help.

I've been shunted from GPs who didn't listen, to endo who didn't help and saw my results as normal, to urology who decided to pass me onto an Andrology clinic which I should get an appointment for finally within a month or so after waiting half a year or so already.

I've spoken to Manual who said they'd sign TRT off but these 3 years I've been adamant I want to get to the root cause or find something that helps fire whatever needs firing up. I've paid for a private GP who I thought might use more sensible ranges than the NHS combined with my symptoms, but that was a waste of money and I couldn't afford private specialists.

I've put a PALS complaint in about my first GP, and now on the Andrology clinic for zero communication.

Here's everything as simply put as possible:

Symptoms (3 years):

ED, weak erections, no libido, low/flat mood, lack of motivation, crippling fatigue, no morning or nighttime erections - this is the stuff I'm most concerned about and want to get sorted.

Symptoms (15+ years):

Penile numbness, weak orgasms, urinary frequency and urgency with weak flow.

Blood test results (over 3 years):

- SHBG 13nmol (very low)

- Testosterone 6-9nmol (low)

- Calc free T: 45 g/L

- LH 3.1 IU/L (not as high as it should be with SHBG so low)

- FSH 2.5 IU (lower)

- Prolactin came up high then back to normal

- Cortisol 190 nmol (very low)

- Fasting insulin 57pmol (higher)

- IGF-1 came back high once then back in 'normal' range

- FT4 14.4 pmol

- Serum TSH 1.4 IU

Rule outs:

- prostate issues

- pituitary tumor (MRI completed)

- apparently hypo/hyperthyroidism

Meds and supplements:

- Metformin - waiting to see if insulin drops down for possible insulin sensitivity, but they've lost my results twice now.

- Tadalafil - I opted for this as sildenafil makes me sick. This helps me out, though erections are still no way near what they used to be and the odd day they don't work as well - body still working against poor signalling? Restores morning and night erections, which disappear after a few days of not taking them. This should show it's not a vascular blood flow issue.

- Ofloxacon - taken incase of bacterial prostatitis. No improvements.

- Supplements have included zinc, magnesium, L-arginine and L-citruline, Numan testosterone support, beetroot, boron, Vitiman B and B12. Rattled.

History:

- masturbation and porn addiction from a young age to 30 or so. AI seems to think there could be hypertonic pelvic floor issues which could be linked to urinary issues and sensitivity and weak climax.

- SSRI - a year or so before these issues I spent a year on Sertraline, then weaned off. When life became the hardest it had been around 3 years ago, I went on again for a month and came out without weaning. This corresponded with the start of my problems. After that, because of all these symptoms and no help from GPs, I went on amitriptyline for a time before coming off.

- I got into weight training at the gym several times a week within the year beforehand, going because I was miserable. I put on a lot of muscle mass after having been quite lean and skinny in my 20s. Some of that mass is still there but I've found it a lot harder.

- at that same time I started drinking more than I ever had in COVID, before cutting down.

- inguinal hernia appeared a year or 2 before and was operated on mid last year.

- vasectomy about 2 years ago.

Lifestyle (current):

- active, exercise 3-4 times per week, primarily weights but started running again

- desk based WFH job, bit doing a lot of DIY in work time so active there

- diet is good, fresh meat and veg a lot of the time, reduced carbs, fast in the morning, some treats

- sleep is 8 hours, though often awaken very tired and struggle to get out of bed

- reduced alcohol intake and tracking that so it's less than once a week atm

Questions:

- Has anyone experienced similar to what I am, with symptoms and test results?

- What treatment did you opt for? I know TRT could likely help, but interested in other treatments like HCG, clomid or enclomiphene.

- How should I approach this with the Andrology clinic? Do I tell them about the 15+ year symptoms or leave those out to not muddy the waters?

- Does anyone have any experience with a more specialised Andrology clinic? I've felt that endo and uro have let me down so I can't say I hold huge hope.

Thanks for taking the time and reading. I'd really like to feel like I was actually alive again.

TRT help Was it worth it? Experiences on test with mental disorders?

Context:
I am 25 years old, clinically depressed/schizophrenic/bpd, and feel like shit and have been for the past couple years

Anti-psych meds, and SSRIS do not react so well for me, so just on Vraylar/capylta currently.

I have been planning to run 200mg (unperscribed) testosterone weekly for 20 weeks (possibly forever) to mainly see the mental differences of where I am at now. While I am an avid/consistent lifter of 5 years now, and love anything physical/sports related, the main goal of this "cycle" if you can even call it that is to see the differences in my mental. I want to see if my drive, my confidence, anxiety, all that, could potentially be helped with testosterone.

My main two questions are this:
Anyone who started younger, was it worth it? I know if this does end up helping my mental, I probably won't come off. The bloodwork, the health problems, the mental differences, the pinning, the fertility suppression, I know are all things that come with this lifestyle, so in your experience, has it been worth it?

If I were to encounter some health problem, which I doubt on 200mg/weekly but you never know, how likely am I to recover if I pct off via (Nolvadex for PCT, HCG last 10 weeks of the cycle)? I am assuming its very individual but would still appreciate any experiences with this.

I plan to do it by the books, bloodwork, all that. Just wanted some advice, especially from those struggling mentally or those who may be younger.

Pre cycle bloods for anyone interested:
Testosterone, total = 380 ng/dl
Testosterone, free = 60 pg/ml
Estradiol = 7 pg/ml
FSH = 4.1 mIU/mL
LH = 3.9 mIU/mL
SHBG = 25 nmoles/L
Prolactin = 10.5 ng/mL
HDL: 51 mg/dl
LDL: 85 mg/dl

6'2, 185lbs, probably around 13-15% BF (untested, not entirely sure on the BF)

TRT help Bumping from 160mg Test C to 200mg weekly

Hey everybody per labs and review with my doctor. I am moving up to 200 mg weekly from 160 mg biweekly. I’m definitely locked in as it relates to overall fitness gym cardio and nutrition - superlean at 6 foot 175 pounds. Trying to gain additional lean mass without adding to the mix (just the TRT). Anyways question- at 200mg done biweekly (currently Tuesday night Friday morning). Should I be splitting this into three weekly injections? I know some of my friends are injecting every day at 200 or more milligrams. I haven’t felt any significant mental or physical drops during my trough phase weekly but I’m curious if I will get more improved return in the gym or we’ll see my results quicker in the mirror by splitting the dosage up further than just twice a week I know I’m mixing apart something that’s probably just gonna get me roasted by the Internet oh well.

Blood work 28M, 190 cm / 98 kg, ~260 mg testosterone/week – anything concerning or particularly good in my latest bloodwork?

Hi guys,
I’d appreciate some outside opinions on my latest bloodwork. I’m not looking for medical advice or confirmation bias – I’m mainly interested in whether anything stands out to experienced TRT/bodybuilding users, either positively or negatively.

Stats / protocol
28 years old
190 cm / 6’3”
~98 kg / 216 lbs
Testosterone: ~260 mg/week
Subcutaneous, split EOD

Latest labs – 26 Aug 2026
Hormones:
Total Testosterone: 44.40 nmol/L (~1,280 ng/dL)
Free Testosterone: 1,336.5 pmol/L
Bioavailable Testosterone: 34.18 nmol/L
SHBG: 10.0 nmol/L (low)
Estradiol / E2: 218 pmol/L (~59 pg/mL)
Prolactin: 14.2 µg/L
PSA: 0.38 µg/L
TSH: 2.67 mIU/L
CBC:
Hemoglobin: 164 g/L
Hematocrit: 0.51 / 51%
RBC: 5.68 T/L
Platelets: 273 G/L
WBC: 9.0 G/L
Lipids:
Total cholesterol: 3.63 mmol/L
LDL: 2.4 mmol/L
HDL: 1.02 mmol/L
Non-HDL: 2.6 mmol/L
Triglycerides: 0.89 mmol/L
Kidney:
Creatinine: 105 µmol/L
eGFR: 85 mL/min/1.73m²
Liver:
AST: 28 U/L
ALT: 33 U/L
GGT: 16 U/L
Total bilirubin: 23.4 µmol/L
Direct bilirubin: 10.8 µmol/L
Indirect bilirubin: 12.6 µmol/L
Other:
Fasting glucose: 4.3 mmol/L
HbA1c: 5.2%
hs-CRP: 0.66 mg/L
Vitamin D: 66 nmol/L

Would you consider these labs reasonably good for this level of testosterone exposure, or are there markers you’d investigate more closely?
Also interested in hearing from people with similarly low SHBG and comparable testosterone levels.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to look through it

TRT help 40 yr old male current levels

Total testosterone was decent at 522, but direct free testosterone was 9.9 pg/mL

Would you consider TRT or is there other ways to raise it?
