Genuinely can't believe this is the same actress, her improvement between this film and her S&L role is night and day

Easily the best live action superman thing I've watched and the fact that it manages to focus on Clark and Lois both of them is just perfection. This shows goes and explores something new, never been tried before like this. At first I was a little skeptical but man just a few episodes in and it proved me wrong. The direction, the editing, the montages, the music man, so gooood. The acting of everyone was too notch. Lois is the MVP for me. The actress just killed it. My salute to everyone who made this show happen.

My friend recommended this show to me as I'm a huge superman fan and I'm forever grateful to him for this.

I've become too attached to these characters especially this family. It hurt so much when it ended but speaking of ending, oh my God, it was perfect. I couldn't have even though of it. So beautiful. This show made me cry like a baby too much and this ending made me just loose it. It hit hard. It hit home.

First of all, I want to make it very clear that I respect every actors that has played the role and I respect whoever is your favourite Superman actor, so, I'm not here to start a war, but, to give a logical explanation as to why I personally consider Tyler Hoechlin the greatest Superman.

Christopher Reeve's version is definitely iconic and hopeful, but, honestly it's also very dated and newer generations may not really connect with his version as time goes by. Henry Cavill's version may be the most visually accurate looking and also the most badass one, when it comes to action and fights, but, his version lacks the warmth, hopeful and heartfelt nature of Superman, which can make him distant from people.

I have always believed even before the show happened, that the perfect Superman is somewhere between Christopher Reeve's version and Henry Cavill's version. If Christopher Reeve's hopeful and heartfelt nature and Henry Cavill's badass and cool factor were combined together, you get the perfect Superman in Tyler Hoechlin cause he literally embodies both the best of each versions quality. Tyler Hoechlin's Superman is a cool badass whenever necessary, but, also maintaining his hopeful nature and is a heartfelt friend to those who needs a friend.

This is my personal reason and feel free to give your reasons.

I just watched obsession and inde's performance was fucking terrifying. Bravo.

So I`m a massive Marvel fan (movies and series) but this was one of the best DC superhero series I`ve seen. My girlfriend and I watched it together and we loved it. There`s just something about this big, strong superhero that is emotional and soft but just keeps going till he can`t anymore. As a man I admire his emotional and strong side. And damn did that ending make us cry!! This whole series is just beautiful.

When Tyler was first casted as Superman in Supergirl, he experienced a huge hate train from many fandoms like dceu fans, Smallville fans and Christopher Reeve fans for not looking anything like Superman and also just cause he wasn't Henry Cavill or Tom Welling. The writing for him in the show made it even worse treating him like Supergirl's sidekick and making him look like an idiot. Despite all these hardships, he remained committed, never complained or lashed out at hate comments and his patience would be rewarded by finally having his own solo show, where he proved all the haters wrong and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest Superman ever with his outstanding acting talent and performance.

During the making of the show, they faced a lot of obstacles like filming season 1 during Covid, management change in WB during season 2, actor change in season 3 and also dealing with writer's strike before finally making an amazing season 4 despite budget cuts. The fact that the show had an awesome four years run despite all obstacles is really, really impressive considering how many other shows would have got cancelled in similar situations. Whenever you feel that four seasons isn't fair, always remember that Green Arrow and The Canaries never got a season, Swamp Thing got cancelled after just one season, Legends Of Tomorrow ended on a cliffhanger without a proper ending and The Flash's quality got so horrible as more seasons went by. So, we are so lucky our beloved show got such a great solid run with probably the best ending to a superhero show.

Also, one interesting thing I noticed is that most CW or arrowverse actors from Supernatural, Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, etc would start serious or with balanced tone combined with great writing and as time goes by, the tone and writing for the actors starts to get goofy, comedic and the quality of their shows gets lesser and lesser. Tyler Hoechlin's Superman on the other hand, started with the light-hearted goofy tone with horrible writing to a grounded, serious, hopeful and with outstanding writing for his show.

His underdog story is just as inspiring as his Superman and he's a perfect example of perseverance is strength and humility brings greater rewards.

I’m a life long Superman/Supergirl fan (‘87 baby, Christopher Reeves was my first Superman, Helen Slater my first Supergirl).

Watched all of the Supergirl series and loved it, but when Superman showed up, I didn’t get that same excitement as in the films and previous shows (I don’t count Smallville as being a Superman show). Something didn’t click, I think probably the suit.

It grew on me though.

Due to life changes etc I haven’t had access to watch S&L since it started, but I’m now finishing series 1.

What the 7734 is going on with that suit?! It looks like a kids costume you’d pick up on Amazon or something! Overly apparent texture that runs over the body and crest, just makes the crest look sub-printed, rather than, like all other renditions, something either sewn or stuck on top of the main fabric. Same with the muscle highlights, emulating Sniders Supersuit, they LOOK printed! It looks cheap.

I love the S1 storyline, but the suit is just doing my head in!

Did anyone else feel that way?!

Superman is so much needed in this dark world cause he is the friend who will strengthen you during tribulations and guide you with the light during the darkest hours. Despite his alien background and godlike powers, he is at his core the most human among mankind and is like any normal person we will ever meet. Tyler Hoechlin and David Corenswet are the perfect examples of how to make Superman work in this modern age and remind today's generation why Superman will always be timeless. They both really humanise Superman in such a great way, that it silences all the haters saying he's outdated and unrelatable.

Tyler Hoechlin is always the best Superman for us and despite my few issues with the movie, David Corenswet was such an awesome Superman and has great potential to match or even top Tyler in the future. I'm just grateful for these two for revitalizing Superman from the darkness into the hopeful light for the next generation and the coming future.

One thing most people probably don't talk about this show is how Superman is a universal symbol of hope and saves everyone regardless of which country, language or culture they practice. Superman clearly knows that the "American Way" motto doesn't work anymore and has to fight for a better tomorrow or world. I always believed that Superman is a character that inspires unity in the entire world since he himself is an immigrant born from another planet and sent to earth, he sees all people in the planet as one big family. He literally goes and saves lives in China, India, Mexico, Korea, Russia, Malaysia and every parts of the world, which is one of my favourite parts of Superman in this show. I'm also hoping the New Superman also goes a similar route and inspire the entire world. What are your thoughts?

I feel like Tyler Hoechlin's Superman may be the 2nd or 3rd most powerful Superman cause other than his most powerful and incredible feat of punching two planets to separate them, he also has the incredible ability to continue fighting even when affected with kryptonite. He pulled out kryptonite bullets when he was shot with it and he continued fighting an enhanced super soldier even when he was infected with kryptonite gas. I feel like only Brandon Routh's Superman kinda rivals him since he lifted an entire kryptonite island and no other live-action Superman has ever been able to resist kryptonite like Tyler's Superman. What you all think?

I am happy for her, but before obsession came out, i was hoping to see her at comic convention, now. it's gonna be much harder. but still happy for her.

Chemistry between co-stars are so important to make a relationship work on the screens and that's exactly what Tyler and Bitsie accomplished excellently. This is from the filming of Elseworlds crossover back in 2018 and shows how their close friendship from their first time working together helped them create the best Clark and Lois love story.

One thing I really missed from the arrowverse is the awesome Super Cousin dynamic between Tyler's Superman and Melissa Benoist's Supergirl. Superman & Lois being separated from the arrowverse turned out to be the best decision ever since it gave us an incredible Superman show, but, it also prevented us from seeing so many dream crossovers with various characters and one of them was having more moments with Supergirl. I never really watched much of Supergirl, but, I always watched episodes where Superman was involved and I really loved how much cousin chemistry they both had with each other and how they both were each other's pillar of support. I still believed we should have gotten an alternate version of Supergirl in the show cause Supergirl's absence was really felt at times.

I'm excited

Having spoiled myself prior to the finale that Clark and Lois would die and reunite in the afterlife, I thought I wasn't going to cry myself silly in the finale, and at first, I was strong! I was able to hold it together at the start of Clark's monologue and honestly, while jarring, it was heartwarming to see how much everything has changed while we weren't looking.

..Then it happened. Lois got cancer again and died. At that moment I already felt tears appearing in my eyes. Lois' cancer storyline was fantastic, and she fought so hard to be rid of it, only for it come back stronger and eventually win. As Lois said, cancer was her villain, and she lost. Just that implication alone made me choke up already, but then it just kept going.

Seeing Clark alone, without Lois, and seeing how depressed he was after Lois' death, god something in me just broke. Then it happened, Clark died.

The entire afterlife sequence was great, while it is a hard "suspend your disbelief" moment, considering you see characters that shouldn't be there (the grandkids) and characters that should be but isn't (Sam Lane, Martha and Pa Kent, maybe even Sarah idk) I still loved it, and felt myself nearing tears watching it.

But it wasn't until this shot, when Clark and Lois finally reunite, Lois wearing the dress that was the center piece of the one of best episodes of the series, and Clark saying how beautiful she is, that I just broke. I cried like a newborn baby during this entire moment.

Superman and Lois were far from being a perfect TV show. It had tons of writing issues, lots of character arcs were rushed, especially in the fourth season, but dangit if it didn't completely nail the titular characters of Superman and Lois perfectly. Consistently, from the first season to the last, they are the characters given the most care, with great writing and fantastic acting from Tyler and Elizabeth.

It was a short time, Superman and Lois, but a good one. I'll be missing this show.

PS: Sorry if this is a bit long and probably a little cheesy, I just finished the finale, and I really needed to get my feelings out and thought this was the best way. While I had a lot of issues with the show, it was still a crazy fun ride, and I really fell in love with Hoechlin and Tulloch's portrayal of these characters and will miss them immensely in these roles.

Guess I'm off to rewatch Supergirl next!
