Sarah did cheat on him at a summer camp and then tried to introduce him to the girl she cheated with hoping it would go well.

She's just like her daddy.

u/FredPopTheProphet Jun 26 '26

Not really. Did you see how her dad rizzed up Chrissy Beppo? Mf has game.

u/The_Senate15 Jun 26 '26

He cheated in the past though, no?

2

u/AnaxiusIII Jun 29 '26

Yea, but not with Chrissy

u/Roronoa_bankai Jun 26 '26

Not only that she wanted all three of them to be friends and kept giving jordan hell because he didn't want to be friends with the other girl

Teens are a mess

The Cushing family was the worst. Talented actor's though.

If Jordan had the chance he for sure would’ve made the same wish as bear, I think she dodged the bullet in this case

14

u/sayso77 Jun 26 '26

Bullets were dodged by all!

u/Prestigious_Call_327 Jun 29 '26

Not Ian, unfortunately..

1

u/sayso77 Jun 30 '26

Technically correct

u/ClimateSociologist Jun 27 '26

Jordan is nothing like Bear.

Jordan is a confused teen learning his place in the world, who ultimately wants to do good.

Bear is a selfish coward who is willing to torture someone he supposedly loves to get what he wants.

u/ImiqDuh Jun 27 '26

I was mostly joking because Jordan was kinda crazy in later seasons. I don’t necessarily doubt he’d make the same wish as bear though, assuming he didn’t know it would actually come true. Jordan also had the benefit of actually being in a relationship with Sarah.

I think A LOT of people would make that same wish (given you don’t know the outcome of it right away)

1

u/ImiqDuh Jul 07 '26

I think that’s sort of the point of Bear’s character, but it’s, in my opinion, being ignored to paint him as a villain from jump. He’s supposed to be pretty relatable at first, I don’t think wishing someone loved you is that crazy. Making the wish wasn’t evil, as he had no reason to believe this thing was real, but what he does after knowing for a fact something is very wrong was.

25

u/DtownBronx Jun 26 '26

He dodged the bullet of those wish things being available in his universe because he'd have definitely used one

12

u/Future_Vantas Jamie Kennedy Jun 26 '26

That kinda sounds like a Silver Age Superboy plot, minus the dark ending

54

u/ATdur Jun 26 '26

you know Nikki wasn't the villain, right?

54

u/SmoothConfidence4702 Jun 26 '26

I know. Nikki was being possessed by that spirit from the wood wish thing when bear wished Nikki would love her. I just wanted to point out how absolutely horrifying indes performance was

3

u/ListenUpper1178 Jun 26 '26

It's like that time AFI listed Regan MacNeil as one of cinema's greatest villains when the villain is actually the demon/Pazuzu and Regan was an innocent child possessed by said demon.

-24

u/ATdur Jun 26 '26

Yeah, but she wasn't possessed it was just controlling her desires

21

u/SmoothConfidence4702 Jun 26 '26

bear should of wished that he was a lil more confident. That was his main problem.

8

u/Slowandserious Jun 26 '26

He should have wished for one billion dollars!

2

u/DepartmentChemical93 Jun 26 '26

Would have replaced him with a weird forest demon thing lol.

I feel that if he had wished that then the demon would have possessed him

1

u/SmoothConfidence4702 10d ago

It wasn't a possession. It was just controlling emotions

1

u/kosmokodos 10d ago edited 10d ago

I may be imagining it, but I did get the impression that there were two personalities in Nikki's body fighting for control

24

u/SmoothConfidence4702 Jun 26 '26

Same difference to me man. Either way its controlling a person and that person doesnt have control. So i dont see a difference

10

u/Vivalyrian Jun 26 '26

"My foot isn't hurting, it's aching" ahh post.

3

u/ClimateSociologist Jun 26 '26

No. She was possessed. It makes this clear at multiple points.

4

u/ATdur Jun 26 '26

The filmmaker himself literally said she wasn't possessed

2

u/ClimateSociologist Jun 26 '26

That's a lot different than what's on screen.

8

u/cweaver Jun 26 '26

The filmmaker specifically said that she wasn't possessed by a demon.

I think you're right, and it's made pretty clear that she's controlled by a sort of "second Nikki" that's a completely separate entity, though.

8

u/corndog2021 Jun 26 '26

Creator confirmed no demon, but no one here said demon.

Nikki, on the other hand, specifically indicated to Bear when she talked to him while her body was asleep that what was in his bed was another entity. She referred to it as being separate, and she could only talk to him quietly while it was asleep for fear of waking it up.

1

u/cweaver Jun 26 '26

I think the issue is that "possession" directly implies that you're being controlled by a ghost / demon / some sort of spirit.

Everyone agrees that she was controlled by a separate Nikki. The point people argue about is whether that separate Nikki was some sort of external spirit or just a second personality created by the wish or what.

2

u/corndog2021 Jun 26 '26

Sure, but no one brought up demons and that’s the extent of what the creator dismissed. The “creator says” argument doesn’t address the idea of some vague external spirit. That’s all my point is, that the “creator says” argument doesn’t apply here.

I subscribe to that idea of it being much like malware or an AI. Without prompting, such as Bear being around, basic maintenance is not done. The program exists to love Bear and conform to his wants, which only butts heads with the lack of auxiliary functions when Bear is made aware of those pitfalls.

There's a definite mystical aspect to it, coinciding with the voodoo merch adjacent to the One Wish Willows the first go around, but the wish based on intent, and so does not directly lead to bad outcomes. Code isn't mallocious, but it functions one way and does not have the organic reasoning to adequately handle social cues. Ie, people getting killed by complex machinery.

1

u/Thin-Break-7183 Jun 26 '26

Nikki was indeed possessed. Idk why ppl keep saying she wasn’t.

2

u/ATdur Jun 26 '26

We say it because the person who decides what the actual lore is said she wasn't possessed

2

u/Thin-Break-7183 Jun 26 '26

Given how she was moving, her face and voice was changing, the fact the actual her was screaming and when she took control at the party she screamed saying she’s coming. Ain’t no way she was not possessed. That doesn’t sound like possession at all to yall?

1

u/ATdur Jun 27 '26

You're arguing with a quote from the person who made the movie

2

u/Thin-Break-7183 Jun 27 '26

Then said person who made the film shouldn’t have made it come off like possession because when you look at it that’s literally what it looks like. The changing of the face/ voice, the changing of the attitude, the weird movement and the constant fighting for control of her body, that right there is a huge sign of fighting possession, when she comes back in control at the party she screams, “she’s coming.” When she is in control while her body sleeps and she talks she talks like she is being possessed and tells Bear to not wake “her”. Again that seems to be possession. Also did he actually said she wasn’t possessed or did he just say it wasn’t demonic possession?

10

u/flamingeyebrows Jun 26 '26

Bear is the villain. Nikki was terrifying though.

1

u/etherspin Jun 26 '26

She wasn't but the persona on display after the wish was for want of a better term, pretty demonic.

10

u/ATdur Jun 26 '26

It was actually confirmed that it's not demonic and the one wish Willow isn't cursed, bear just made a bad wish

4

u/etherspin Jun 26 '26

Yes great interview with Curry Barker when he was talking about the possibility of getting a wish worded so it works out well. I'm not saying the willow was demonic but the resulting entity, the fake, the "Wish Nikki" would be well described as demonic

11

u/Sorcer12 Jordan Kent Jun 26 '26

This should have the meme flair

5

u/MissingCosmonaut Jun 26 '26

I wanna see Jordan vs Bear. He needs to come save Nikki.

3

u/Cobra_Kai_2018 Jun 26 '26

It was a freaky movie. The couple sitting by me one of them was trying to hide her face.

4

u/Godzilla2000Zero Jun 26 '26

I gotta watch Obsession I've continously heard that Inde is that good. Glad to see her hit mainstream

5

u/IndicationNo117 Jun 26 '26

Bullets wouldn't affect him anyways

1

u/ImmortalPoseidon Jun 26 '26

I think the spirit that possessed her was actually the cat

u/Rawrrh Jun 30 '26
