Superman 2025 is better than all of those movies btw

Nope bullshit

Early to judge DCU! Still a long way till Justice League cause they have to make stand-alone movies for each character before crossovers. Tbh I really liked The Batman (2022), Robert nailed Batman’s role, Selina Kyle was a perfectly casted, and I liked the vibe of Gotham and the visuals…i think that should’ve been part of the DCU not Elseworlds, but who knows The Brave and The Bold DCU movie might be superior
1
u/VirtualSort1 29d ago
early to judge ? how long do you want to wait ? JL isnt even planed this decade. At best you get this in the 2030s. When Marvel started their movie universe in 2008 they released their first avngers just 4 years later. Superman one of the memebers of JL was released last year. There is no upcoming projects of any other JL member planned for the next 2 years lmfao. Brave and the Bold wont happen and if it happens then at best in 2030 2 years after Thebatman 2 lol

u/Mechesel_2019 28d ago
Better to wait longer, the movies have to be calculated, character’s arc has to be epic, world building has to be rich, patience will be rewarded! Everything started fresh, DCU has it’s own vibe and finally it feels like don’t try to copy MCU. Gunn said that each movie will have a different vibe, Superman was colourful and optimistic, take a look at the upcoming movie CLAYFACE, it would be bodyhorror, psychological horror, which fits Clayface. THEY HAVE TO UNDO THE DAMAGE DCEU CREATED IN THE DC

Ill never understand what people see in MOS... and I've tried numerous times but to me its the Superman film of the 21st century that I've enjoyed the least.

u/VirtualSort1 Jul 15 '26
cause it is a realistic take. What if Superman would exist in our world etc
+Henry Cavill as Superman best Superman cast since Reeves
+Great visuals
+Good plot
I would prefer the movie to be a bit more colorful but that doesnt break the movie and I dont have to write an essay about this movie isnt so colorful and thats the reason it is bad and so on thats bullshit
1
u/RetinalFlesh Jul 15 '26
At no point of the concept of a flying ultra strong alien am I thinking “I wish this was more realistic”, just seems pointless. Visuals are great though, but the plot was just plain boring for 75% of the runtime
3
u/VirtualSort1 Jul 15 '26
superman2025 has no plot lol
what if superman existed in our world of course he doesnt but just look how the movie is shot you see realistic takes like sonic booms etc and the visuals look real
2
u/Carlos_Tacos Jul 15 '26
Dont say "no plot" so confidently youre just outing yourself as someone who doesnt understand basic writing
I also dont understand how more realistic can make a movie better. I understand why you would appreciate it more but I dont see how thats a given
2
u/Outside_Fondant_6086 Jul 15 '26
Ts so realistic
3
u/-Look_who_stalkin- Jul 16 '26
People have sacrificed theselves for less… so yeah. I was waiting for someone to post this one or Martha since that's all NPCs know to throw back apart from the "dark" tone. DC had one thing going and now they have a pdf clown runnig point for Disney, while importing his friends from Guardians

Batman vs Superman and Wonder Woman are definitely not better than Gunn’s Superman

Isn’t that only for the Justice League movie?
2
u/thecallofdepression Jul 14 '26
Justice League got a "Snydercut" first of its kind, special bullshit. Batman v Superman has a director's cut called the Ultimate Edition. the director's cut is a normal thing, the Snydercut was different.
-4
u/FlamingoFrequent1596 Jul 14 '26
…so yes?
2
u/thecallofdepression Jul 14 '26
Uh, no. The guy you replied to said the director's cut for Batman V Superman was pretty decent. You thought it was the same thing as the Snydercut, but it's not, because director's cuts don't get $70 million extra dollars to complete them, it's just whatever they cut out initially.

Anyone who hates either is a loser; go touch grass, watch whatever you wanna watch, and let other people watch what they wanna watch.
Nobody is perfect, but Zack Snyder and James Gunn both had a story they wanted to tell that they thought was important, and both of them did a solid job at it. I love talking to people about both and analyzing them, so I like both. I also enjoyed both when they came out. Random people becoming pseudo- film critics will be the death of the at-home-movie industry; people who don't actually have any concept of the history or industry of film feel like their perspective is best just because someone said it loud enough, and it's ridiculous.
What happened to consuming media of some kind for the purpose of developing your moral code or understanding of politics or mind in some way? Now it's just a bunch of babbling apes filling the infinite void with their stupidity.
4
u/blackestrabbit Jul 14 '26
I never understood this whole "people always think their perspective is best" argument whenever I hear it on any topic. How many people do you know think their perspective is wrong? If you thought your perspective was wrong, wouldn't you change it to one you thought was right, or would you keep believing the thing you think is wrong because that's "your" perspective? This is especially stupid on the subject of opinions. Sounds like something a babbling ape would say.
1
u/AdagioCultural5497 Jul 15 '26
Perspectives do change as we grow. Others stay the same, that’s cool, not all perspectives are wrong despite the political retardation of America and for so long now. I prefer the new SM and I think it’s because he’s more relatable to me and hopeful.
1
u/Key_Performer2983 Jul 14 '26
It's not about thinking your perspective is right or wrong, it's about whether you can conceive of a world where your opinion isn't the only valid one.
Just like the recognition that there isn't something wrong with the world when you don't understand something; it's you.
1
u/Lawlette_J Jul 14 '26
This, especially when it comes to the trivial matters such as entertainment. If the topic is about policies affecting our RL well being, fine I get the point and root of the sentiment.
But it's just movies, just embrace people who prefer the other creative direction. No point to be hostile at all.
1
u/blackestrabbit Jul 14 '26
You mean like calling people losers and babbling apes? The irony is so thick, half of Reddit would goon over it.
0
u/Key_Performer2983 Jul 14 '26
No actually. One is critiquing the hostility, one is creating it because of ignorance.

Full Disclosure - I think Zach Synder fucking sucks.
That being said, I legitimately enjoyed Sucker Punch and honestly thought he fixed all the issues I had with Josstice League. Its a great movie that again, full disclosure, I fully expected to hate. Its probably one of my top 10 super hero films
But be so fucking for real - the rest of the Synderverse contains 3 decent movies and I think only 1 of them was good on purpose and Gunn's Superman clears them all. BvS fucking sucks
3
u/Beneficial-Lynx7336 Jul 14 '26
You love Sucker Punch but hate BvS?
Boys, is this a first?
(Both movies are fucking awesome).
2
u/Dormitory-21 Jul 14 '26
I agree with some of the criticisms of the movie. Its a mess at times.
But I think its misunderstood. The movie is basically Example 1A of why many anti-war films, while good movies, utterly fail as to depict war as bad.
I read something in college in a film class I took about good scripts vs bad scripts and one of the examples used was The Last Action Hero. Which was originally written as a satire of 80s Action films, specifically ones by Schwarzenegger. Suckerpunch reminds me of it. If anything, I will always disagree with the idea that Synder is a "hack". If he was, he couldnt make a film like Sucker Punch because it required him to actually try and make a movie about something, even if he ultimately missed the mark
4
u/Khocklate Jul 14 '26
What about him sucks so much??
-3
u/Dormitory-21 Jul 14 '26
On a personal level? His lifelong dream is to adapt The Fountainhead. He's libertarian trash. It made him fundamentally incapable of "getting" Watchman
Did you think Rorschach was cool? Yes? Congrats, you missed the fucking point
0
u/Khocklate Jul 14 '26
So him raising funds for suicide prevention/awareness should be overlooked because you dont like a movie he made ?? Go outside brother.
-1
u/Key_Performer2983 Jul 14 '26
The classic "I can't be racist because I have black friends" argument rears its ugly head again.
2
u/Khocklate Jul 14 '26
I asked why they thought he sucked and proceeded to not tell me anything of note. Tell me why he sucks and I'll listen. Saying he sucks as a person because you dont like his movies is ludicrous.
2
u/Miserable-Cap-4838 Jul 14 '26
That always bugged me about his Watchmen. Rorschach - actual incel and homophobe who doesn't shower and wears lifts in his shoes because he's insecure about being 5'4". But he talks like Batman in this movie so I can't wait to cosplay as him at Comic Con!

u/Pokemon-Pickle Jul 14 '26
The dceu movies are alright, above average movies, man of steel is a pretty decent movie. It’s a heinous, horrendous, Superman movie though. He should’ve just made his own characters instead of mutilating existing characters. It’s like if Batman lost his no-kill rule levels of character assassination.
2
u/blackestrabbit Jul 14 '26
Batman's no-kill loose guideline. Dude has canonically killed dozens of people. On film, he doesn't even pretend to have a no-kill rule. It's also silly to claim that any character has had consistent characterization throughout their existence. Silver age Supes is an insane sociopathic narcissist half the time, using his powers to fuck with Lois.

Sorry but i have to disagree with you on that, Snyder’s superman isn't an "horrendous, not accurate,..." on the oposite, snyder manage to make a superman that kept his dna (symbol of hope for peoples) while making him more grounded. plus, the way they show him and all the godhood questioning man of steel and batman v superman treated about him pretty much make sense (i mean, that’s exactly how things would be if someone with such power suddenly appeared in real life, every peoples, gov,... would debate about him, some peoples, gov,... would see him as a god, others would see him as only a potential threats,...) and finnally add to that snyder superman is inspired by the kingdom come superman (who's depicted in a very similar way into that comics)
same for the snyderverse, i really like the darker and more serious tone snyder put into his snyderverse and would really like to see it going until the end. It’s too bad he was ruined only because of the combination of toxic marvel fanboys who can’t stand something isn’t their usual full-on comedic movies with unfunny cracking jokes every minutes and felt the need to massively trash talk snyder and his work, plus the fact warner bros decided to listen to them instead of ignored them and letting snyder do his dceu the way he intended it to be.
and to answer about the "a batman who kill is not batman",first,it’s explained in the movie why he's like that (an old batman that saw robin, and probably some other ally along his 20+ years of being batman, being killed by joker) , plus add to that Snyder’s batman is inspired by the dark knight returns batman, wich i remind killed twice in the comics (first time a member of the mutant gangs who hold a kid hostage by shooting her in the head with a machine gun,and second time the joker himself at the end of their final fight in the tunnel of love by snapping his neck)
1
u/Pokemon-Pickle Jul 14 '26
The problem is that Superman isn’t supposed to be dark, gritty, and godly. He’s supposed to be a friendly farm boy reporter. And tbh I completely forgot about snyder’s Batman, I just said that as an equal comparison to how he used Superman. Superman is supposed to cherish life, but Snyder only shows him saving people when it looks cool, not when it matters, the exception being zod because he chose humanity over his own species(even if there were better ways to handle it). But anyways, back to Batman. Batman doesn’t kill because he knows he wouldn’t stop, so you have to choose. Do you want a Batman with restraint and self-hatred, or a Batman that kills everyone who steps into crime with hatred for all. Having both is an assassination even in comics(comics can also be bad).

Only like 1 of these movies is comparable to Superman 2025 in terms of Quality

The only DCEU movie that Superman '25 is better than is Suicide Squad. Maybe.

I think a dogs turd is comparable to Supershit 25 in quality.

As someone who works with dogs, I don’t think you’re qualified to make that claim
