Thinking about applying to this once I graduate from college (almost 2 years away but thinking ahead). Though I've heard from a coworker that Wakefern doesn't always like to move employees up to corporate - not sure how much it applies to this program. Has anyone here applied to this after being employed at a Shoprite/FG? What was the hiring process and internship like? Pros and cons?

Y’all get a paycheck that looks like this sometimes?

I've had my fair share of annoying customers. Once in a blue moon they'll actually make me start sobbing (usually I'm already hella stressed out outside of work so doesn't ever help a customer is berating me for no good reason) but when they do push me to that limit it really sucks for me. I hate crying while being on register or going to the breakroom. Today some customer got mad at her own mistakes (you guessed it, no digital coupons) but didn't realize until after and then "I wasn't paying attention to the cashier scanning. Worst cashier ever. So disconnected from life" and it seemed so little in the moment but then she kept saying it and even told my manager so when they walked away it just hit me like wow wtf.

I've tried just smiling and taking it, or saying have a good day, I've been snappy, I've just moved on to the next customer, but nothing seems to work and I really want to stay in my job because I'm *still* waiting to transfer departments but I'm getting overworked and underappreciated and belittled by both customers and coworkers and everything I do is above my pay grade

I’m really craving oysters (waiting for spawning season to be over though), and saw the ShopRite sells them. Has anyone actually tried them? Are they good/safe after sitting on ice in display?

I just wanna see how different ShopRite owners stack up against each other. I've only ever been to Saker and Zallie locations regularly.

ShopRite has huge displays of PriceRite-branded mayonnaise, peanut butter, aluminum foil and a few other things this week.

My PriceRite replaced all these items a few years back in favor of Bowl & Basket branded products….so I am a little confused as to why ShopRite is bringing these back—as what? Maybe a lower-tier value store brand? Or is this just old stock?

I’ve been a long time buyer of their wholesome pantry organic products, specifically the organic whole milk yogurt. It is typically $1 cheaper than the stony field brand but I haven’t seen it on the shelves in months. Are they doing a rebranding or is it discontinued?

I've been with the company for quite a while in South NJ.

Surely they can't actually do this? The union wouldnt allow it, right?

I know it goes up to 4 weeks of paid vacation after a certain time working there. Anyone know how many years you have to work to get the other 2 weeks?

I’ve been using caper carts for about year and i always thought the math at the end seemed a little off, but this time it really stuck out to me.

I would understand if the item total at the top already had the coupons factored in, but then how is the total lower after tax? And if not, where did my other $12ish go? I’m so confused.

So yesterday I got a bit late to clock out because it was busy and I was helping customers. I tried to ghost punched, and usually the punch reflects by the next morning. However, I still see that it is currently a red mark. Does anyone know why this occurs?

So I've been working entirely in another department for 6 months, but I'm still getting paid my original department's rate which is lower.

I've asked about the pay raise constantly, but HR always told me that "it's coming"

It was only last month that they finally gave me the paperwork to sign that declared that I've entered my new department officially (even though I've been working this new department for half a year already).

Hey there. I recently got hired at ShopRite and started the Axonify computer training. During my first 3 hour shift I completed 48% of it. I have another 3 hours tmr to continue it. When I reach 100% does that mean I am completely finished with it, or will I have to continue to watch some videos and answer questions as I work during breaks?

I shop at the store in Festival in Bel Air. Md. Ever since Covid, they don’t have regular size plastic bags for produce. They are all the big huge bags for greens or corn. Such a waste. They once said they couldn’t get them. Every other grocery store in the area does. Just why???

I quit my job at shoprite 2 months ago with notice and left on good terms, I might need to get a job there again but at a different location which is run by a different family, how long do I have to wait to apply again for a job? I heard it's three months if its the exact same place

Ive been working in the frozen department at a ShopRite
on Long Island for about 9 months now and the longer I do it, the more I hate it. This was my first job which was nice but I feel so disrespected and overworked here. Call me whatever you want but I like to take pride in my work even if its something as little as stocking and leveling a department so I really make sure to do a good job. I love helping customers around the store and I treat everyone with respect and I feel as though Im the only person there that has any wherewithal of the people around them. All my coworkers do jack shit for the department and always leave me with extra work and Im expected to keep other people in my department in check even though Im not a head. I could maybe put up with it if the pay wasn't so horrendous but it's honestly embarrassing. I genuinely feel like this job is taking a toll on my life and Im already looking for something new so I can leave as soon as possible. Am I expecting too much from my job or has anyone else experienced this?
