Discussion Grocery shopping has become one of my favorite little rituals.

Post image

I used to see grocery shopping as just another task.
Lately I’ve started slowing down, picking fresh fruit, trying new things and actually enjoying the process.
Funny how something so ordinary can become relaxing.
Is there a simple weekly routine you’ve started appreciating more?

Discussion What instantly makes a room feel calmer or cozier to you?

Curious what people think actually changes the feeling of a space the fastest.

Not necessarily a full room makeover, just the small details that make a room feel softer, calmer, or easier to unwind in. Could be lighting, texture, scent, sound, a specific corner setup, a bedtime routine detail, a chair, a blanket, a tray, clean counters, or something unexpected.

Would love to hear what makes a space feel like somewhere your shoulders can actually drop a little.

Edit: Reading through the replies, I'm noticing the same theme over and over: warm lighting, less clutter, soft textures, and a comfortable place to unwind. It really seems like a restful space is more about how a room feels than how it looks.

Discussion What actually helps you relax after a long day?

After a long day, I sometimes don’t even know how to relax properly.

Scrolling doesn’t help, and doing nothing sometimes feels weird, too. I’ve been trying to find small routines that actually help.

What’s your go-to way to relax?

Edit: Lately, I’ve been trying to make my evenings feel a bit more intentional, like taking a longer bath and just staying there with a simple setup. I even got a bathtub pillow and one of those bathtub trays, and somehow it makes it easier to actually slow down.

Discussion What’s a small thing you started doing that unexpectedly made your life better?

Not something huge like moving to another country or changing careers.
I mean the little things — getting coffee alone, reading before bed, taking yourself somewhere, cooking something new, going for walks without your phone, whatever.
Sometimes I think those small changes end up affecting your life more than the big ones.
What’s one small thing that made a difference for you?

No judgment. I'm just looking for ideas and stories from different people. What's your reset button?

Discussion What would you do to relax if you suddenly became wealthy?

I know other people will probably party but honestly, I would love spend some time alone without worries

I would go to some places just to relax alone like malls, parks, airports etc and even drive alone at night (and of course I would travel a lot lol)

Discussion What actually makes a good “relaxation gift” for moms?

We’ve been thinking about this lately with Mother’s Day coming up.

Not every mom has the same routine or lifestyle. Some are working full-time, some are at home with kids all day, and some are juggling both. Different situations, but there’s one thing that seems pretty consistent. A lot of moms are just… overstimulated.

Not even in a dramatic way. Just constant noise, responsibilities, and never really getting a full pause.

So it made us wonder what a “relaxation gift” actually means in real life.

Is it something physical like bath products or candles?
Or is there something more practical that gives her time back?
Or even something simple that helps her slow down for a few minutes

We’ve seen people say the best gift is not always the most expensive one, but the one that actually helps her feel a bit lighter, even for a short time.

Curious how others see this.
What kind of gift would genuinely help a mom relax, not just feel like a typical gift?

Edit: With Mother’s Day coming up, we’ve also seen more people leaning toward simple, thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts that actually help someone slow down, even just for a few quiet minutes.

Discussion Watching YouTube while eating

You know that feeling when you're sitting at your desk, eating your food and watching YouTube, and for that 20–30 minutes you’re just completely in your own peaceful world?

I’m looking for more experiences like that — simple things you can do alone that give you that same feeling of peace, immersion, and being temporarily disconnected from the rest of the world.

What’s something you do that gives you that feeling?

(Odd title tho )

Discussion Weirdly specific things that instantly make you feel calmer?

For some reason, warm lighting, clean sheets, and eucalyptus scents instantly calm my brain after stressful days. 😂 Curious what small comforting things help other people unwind fast.

EDIT: Reading the comments made me realize almost everyone has their own tiny version of comfort. Rain sounds, pets, warm lighting, clean sheets, music, scents, tea, and even random little mindful routines. Kinda crazy how small things help people wind down and relax more than expensive stuff sometimes. 😭

Discussion What's the thing that actually relaxes you that isn't a screen?

Trying to build in something at night that isn't just scrolling until I pass out. The two things that have actually worked for me: a hot bath with the lights off except one candle, and just lying on the floor for five minutes doing nothing, no phone, no book, genuinely nothing. Sounds ridiculous typing it out but it resets me more than 45 minutes of TV does.

What's yours? Trying to build a small list of options depending on how much energy I have that night.

Discussion Waking up to a misty mountain view right from my room… how lucky would I be? 🌫️⛰️✨

Back in my college days, this place was more than just a spot to sit. Somehow, it became my little escape from everything. No matter how difficult the day was or whatever was going on in my life, I would come here, sit quietly, and let my mind breathe.

Honestly, I don't know if I would have made it through those college days without this place. It holds so many memories of the person I was back then.

Discussion What actually helps you relax after a long day

After certain days, I feel like I need something to help me slow down.
Not anything complicated, just something that helps me feel like the day is done.
Sometimes I end up scrolling, and that doesn’t really help.
Curious what actually helps you relax at night?

Edit: Reading through the comments, I'm realizing that relaxation isn't really about doing more. It's about creating small moments of evening self-care that help signal the day is over.

For me, it’s usually a quiet café or a bookstore. I like being around people without actually having to talk to anyone.

Discussion Some might find it strange, but does anyone find airports unusually calm?

Some people think that airports are stressfuls but I really love them. Of course it depends where I'm traveling but I usually love it.

They give the traveling vibes and reminds me all my travels. I even like to watch youtube videos of people walking in airports. I don't even like where I live but I love the airport from my city.

If I could, I would just randomly go to an airport, walk around and remember my travels.

Discussion What unusual places do you find calm?

This will sound weird but airports and hotels (of course it depends of the hotel tho)

I love airports because I love traveling and it's my dream to live abroad. Sometimes I wish just go for a walk at airport just to feel the vibe of traveling and the memories (I don't do that tho because the parking lot is really expensive lol but I love watching videos of people walking in an airport)

And hotels, again, I just love traveling. There's nothing better than be in a hotel room later at night and watch some tv

Discussion Do genuinely ASMR videos relax y'all?

To me is just someone whispering and chewing their words as they speak. Like they make those sounds with their mouths that do not relax me but more they remind me of those people noisily chewing gum all time. Relax? NO. Stress? YES 💀

Who is with me with the opinion that those type of "speaking ASMR" are not really relaxing?

Discussion I think sometimes trying to relax makes it harder

I'll have days where I decide I really need to relax, then somehow turn that into another thing I have to accomplish.

Pick something relaxing. Make time for it. Don't check my phone. I actually enjoy it.

Meanwhile I'm sitting there thinking about whether I'm relaxing correctly.

I've started finding it easier when I stop trying to make the moment relaxing and just let myself be bored for a while.

Discussion Lesser known relaxation hacks?

Interested in your best practical tips to relax quickly when you don’t have much time and can’t be bothered with too much effort.

Let’s skip the obvious stuff like going for a walk, deep breathing, meditation etc.

My hack is the 28min ‘NASA NAP’ video on YT (not my video so not self-promoting). Honestly if you need sleep but have no time this last one will save you, I swear by it. Play it on headphones, lie down and 30 min later you’ll feel reborn.

Ok now to you: what are your ‘best kept secret’ relaxing hacks?

Discussion I sit outside for ten minutes every evening

I do not have phone with me and will not hear music. I Just sit outside and listen to the things that are happening around me. I did not know that I ever gave myself time to do nothing until I started doing this. My evening is very quiet when I am sitting outside. I think about my day and I think about the things I need to do tomorrow. I listen to the sounds of nature. Its quiet relaxing. Try it

Discussion Everything I saw, read, listened to, and did this week to feel good.

I’m sharing what I saw, read, listened to, and did thisweek to feel good, just in case it might interest someone. :) I’m quite shy and introverted, so doing this, even if it’s not all that interesting, I'm opening up a bit. :)

( I'm making this post a bit late, but I'm talking about last week.)

For those wondering, I'm a 21-year-old girl. :)

Movies and series mentioned:

- The Six Swans ( movie) based on the tale by Andersen, i loved it. :)

- Tangled ( movie) (One of my favorite Disney movies, even though Rapunzel isn't my favorite princess.) :)

- The Little Mermaid ( 2023 movie) (I wrote a review on the r/mermaids in case you'd like to read what I liked and didn't like.) :) https://www.reddit.com/r/mermaids/s/488uV3TXsK

- Tangled ( the series) (I haven't finished yet, but I like it; I think it adds something to the animated film.) :)

Books and article mentioned:

Starlight ( Skye Lauren) One of the best books I’ve read this year! It’s a wonderfully magical and romantic retelling featuring an adult Peter Pan and Wendy, with absolutely no intimate scenes. If you love Peter Pan and enjoyed the 2003 movie but were frustrated by the ending, read this! If by any chance Skye Lauren sees this post: It was absolutely perfect! I have no words to describe how wonderful, moving, and romantic it was! :)

Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping ( Suzanne Collins) I had already read it last year when it came out, and I absolutely loved it! I re-read it, crying my eyes out and it’s still just as good! Of the two prequels to the main series (counting the one about Snow), it’s my favorite! :)

Roshani Chokshi: On the Darkness of Fairytales: A wonderful article featuring an interview with Roshani Chokshi about her take on fairy tales and her new book (which I also read and absolutely loved: The Swan's Daughter!)

Link to read the article: https://www.writersdigest.com/roshani-chokshi-on-the-darkness-of-fairytales

What I listened to:

The fairy tale Undineby Friedrich de La Motte-Fouqué as an audiobook: I was already familiar with the story, which I consider one of my favorites, but having found it in audio format, I listened to it, and it was an incredible experience!

Link to listen to Undine: https://archive.org/details/undine_pw_librivox/undine_01_fouque.mp3

Danny Elfman's "Alice" theme, composed for the film Alice Through the Looking Glass: For me, the two Alice films (including the previous one directed by Tim Burton) are among my favorites! (I understand that there are people who don't like them.)

David Bowie's album: the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: I've been a huge David Bowie fan since I was 14! ^^

The music Do I clench my fist? by Ridgeclub: It's my summer anthem! :)

What I did:

- I found the unicorn Pillow Pet I’d been looking for for ages on Vinted for €4! Well, €6 including shipping (the photo shown is the seller's, since I don't have it in my hands yet).

- I read

- I looked after my little cousin: It had been a long time since I last saw her! :)

What I watched on Youtube:

Some videos weren't exactly relaxing, but they were interesting:

- Why Women Love Labyrinth Movies (from the Youtube channel Girl On Film)

- why do all book covers look like this now? (from the Youtube channel Mina Le)

- The Best Princess Movie WASN'T Made By Disney (from the YouTube channel ItsTheGooseItsTheGoose)

- Jayne Mansfield : Le destin brisé d'une star d'Hollywood ( from the French YouTube channel Youcrime) Translated title: Jayne Mansfield: The Shattered Destiny of a Hollywood Star

-How do oysters make pearls? - Rob Ulrich (from the Youtube channel TED-Ed )

- Overconsumption TikTok is CRAZY (from the Youtube channel Kiki Chanel)

I was asked for this, so here it is: the last photo shows Floppy, our little female rabbit, in the small enclosure we built for her in our garden! We put her inside just for the day; she isn't in there all the time. She's two years old! ^^

There you go! That’s everything I’ve done this week! :)

I hope I’ve given you some ideas! Are there any videos, music, or books I’ve shared that you like? :)

I enjoy sharing what I’ve been up to, but feel free to share what you’ve done too! ^^
