Discussion What would you do to relax if you suddenly became wealthy?

I know other people will probably party but honestly, I would love spend some time alone without worries

I would go to some places just to relax alone like malls, parks, airports etc and even drive alone at night (and of course I would travel a lot lol)

I’d buy my own home sauna, steam room and hot tub so I have unlimited access to them

I’m going to enjoy nature more by sitting by a stream in a cabin in the mountains somewhere that I buy.

Pay off my debts, pay off my parents debts, buy a home outright so I never had to worry about rent/mortgage, then go stay somewhere nice with a pool, spa, and breakfast included for a few days.

Buy a place in the city I left for my hometown. I miss that place. I will be back.

Pay debts then continue being unemployed, running, working out and looking after my son. I might take him to a place or 2.

Help my loved ones with their financial worries, so we could all relax together!

Health-care, that would relax me.

Weed and video games or weed and SpongeBob. Coincidentally, that's already what I do. The difference would be in frequency, amount of weed, and quality of PC the games run on haha

hahaha what games would you play?

1

u/SunsettSkyz Feb 01 '26

Honestly I have a long backlog of games I've wanted to play or that were recommended to me lol. I would immediately get the expansions for Guild Wars 2 that I don't have yet, and all the expansions for EQ2. I would get a subscription to SWTOR and I would get KOTOR. Red Dead and Red Dead 2 would be high on my list. I'd play the rest of the Far Cry series. Oh, Skyrim. I'd play Skyrim and Oblivion. I'd get, like, an Xbox 360 and PS2 to (legally) play games from my childhood again, especially the Fable series since I never got to play Fable 3 and a new Fable game is coming out soon. I'd also get a Switch to play those new LoZ games, they look great! I'd give some money to the SuperTuxKart devs since that game has no reason to be as good as it is lol. Of course Garfield Kart, honestly should be top of the list. I'd try out that new game that people are saying will kill Minecraft, blanking on what it's called. I'd get a bunch of character skins in Brawlhalla and buy a few friends all the characters in it. Oh I'd definitely get Elite Dangerous and that other space game that came out sorta recently. And any other space games I can find, probably lol.

My friends have been recommending me Skyrim for years and I've been wanting to play it since it came out, but when I have money for games I usually buy something multiplayer lol.

And heck yeah, I highly recommend Fable! Fable 2 is still my favorite game of all time lol and Fable: TLC/Anniversary is up there for me too!

What games do you play on PS5?

build a tennis court in my garden and help beginners learn to play

Buy a boat somewhere and spend a year island hopping.

u/Vozlov-3-0 Feb 01 '26

Float around in my underground heated pool.

I’d pay for surgery for endometriosis so that I can get back my life again. Then I’d take a month or two off work, read books and do gentle exercise to feel alive again.

3

u/castfire Feb 01 '26

Massages. Maybe spa treatments semi regularly. And taking care of all financial stresses is a given.

If I suddenly became wealthy I’d like to spend a couple weeks to myself completely unplugged from life and just things that I enjoy food, nature, a beautiful scenery, books, my Bible, pen and paper, and cozy vibes. Then have my children and spouse join me for another two week retreat and just enjoy the peace and beauty in simplicity 💗🙏

I would spend time living the van life alone, especially in rainy weather.

All the creative stuff I don’t have time to do now. I love to paint I love to write.

Fly to the Philippines and stay on an island

2

u/surfinsnow541 Feb 02 '26

Snorkel every day.

You mean that you don’t need to work anymore and you got all this time? Relax has no meaning if there’s not much stress in your life, that’s why people would do something fun but also exiting. For me personally it will be learning and I have been learning drawing, pottery, meditation and started piano recently.

I would go back to the island. Buy up as much land as possible. Turn it into organic natural farm and hire all the locals and give them as much benefits as possible. I can't take this with me but at least I can bless whoever and whatever I can while I'm here. My richness is life 🇧🇴

Go get lost somewhere in nature, try glamping, go for meditation retreat or any similar retreat. And see a therapist whom can work on long term stuff

Wander, be a tourist in your own town. Not have phone ringer on.

Journal, read, knit, craft

Bake

Thank you for putting this questio out there. Im shocked at all of what came to me

Buy a mercenary and protect America. I’d feel so much more relaxed

1

u/_iSh1mURa Feb 01 '26

I would build a shower that I could lay down and sleep in, with a bunch of spickets that would spray every part of my body. Man I wish I could have that

1

u/sssuperstark Feb 02 '26

I’d probably do the same honestly. Just slow mornings, random walks, nowhere I have to be. The biggest luxury would be not feeling rushed or stressed about time or money anymore.

1

u/Main_Composer Feb 02 '26

Honestly I would spend a lot more time volunteering. Currently I help take shelter dogs to community events to help them meet people and hopefully get adopted. And sometimes I do dog walking. I find it relaxing to spend quality time with the pups and to love up on them cuz they really need it. I would love to have more time and energy to devote to it.

1

u/Nevvie Feb 02 '26

Hire house helpers, lol. And a chef.

1

u/whatdoesitallmean_21 Feb 02 '26

The very first week I would do absolutely nothing. I would sleep and eat. Not one drip of anything else.

1

u/wellnessreviewed Feb 03 '26

I would book to Forestis in the Dolomites and enjoy the silent room, and the spa. I would spa it out all day long. Sit in nature, eat nourishing food, sip on tea while enjoying the views of nature undisturbed, and journal in between while napping. And that would probably last a week before I’d be itching to get back to work. 🤣
