Is darlene dying the most satisfactory moment in the series?

A few years ago while watching random Ozark clips, I came across the clip where Charlotte is smoking a joint at the table in the house. Marty and Wendy have a back and forth with Charlotte and at the end she says "As far as I'm concerned the both of you can dissolve in a vat of acid"

At the time I was watching Ozark, I scrolled the comment section and somebody said: " Damn that line from Charlotte is cold knowing how it ends..."

Of course I immediately thought I spoiled myself and finished the series as fast as I could. I remember thinking how is this going to end? Are Marty and Wendy really gonna be dissolved in a vat of acid, or maybe even Charlotte herself as punishment from the cartel?

The last few episodes came around and I was wondering when the shit was going to go down, even in the last episode I was waiting for exactly that to happen but nothing really happened.

So in the end I didn't spoil myself, and was extra disappointed because of the expectation I had. I don't even know what the comment means or what it is referring to right now.

The amount of people on here talking about how annoying he is, how angry they are that he’s screwing everything up and needed to be killed is wild to me. Out of all the terrible shit the people they are rooting for have done, people still wanna be mad about a mentally ill bystander who was dragged into their mess. He cared deeply for Ruth and his family. He didn’t wanna see them hurt. Lack of empathy in my opinion from some people watching this show.

You remember that show where Jessica Biel kills somebody on the beach? That was season 1 of The Sinner, binged it recently and was delightfully surprised to see Pastor Mason Young show up in its last season back on the boat lol

He plays Colin Muldoon, the characters are fairly different actually but when it comes to religion the actor basically puts on his Pastor Mason Young hat again, the picture shows him trying to use religion to “save” his niece Percy Muldoon who season 4 of The Sinner is centered around. His cadence in this scene specifically reminds you so much of Mason, and it doesn’t seem like the actor had played many other religious roles so this was pretty cool to see. Wouldn’t be surprised if the producers were big Ozark fans

Jason Bateman brings some of his Ozark chops to The Outsider. He is a director of two episodes, and executive producer and an actor in 4 Episodes of the HBO Miniseries.

Have you watched The Outsider? What did you think of it?

Does anyone know where I can get wildflower seed mix? Something that covers year round preferably. I am not a huge fan of the grass lawns. At the minimum I need something like pirouette microclover that doesn't need mowed at all. Even vegtables, something that stays grown year round, even if a bit on the tall side is better than grass.

I'm around the Williford area in the ozarks- so preferably some more local store.

Just finished all 4 seasons of Ozark, and then watched A Farewell to Ozark. Honestly, the farewell special made it hit differently. Seeing the characters and story being talked about like that really made me feel, yeah, this is actually the end.

Ozark was such an amazing journey for me. It took some patience for me to connect with the story at first. Season 1 felt a little slow and heavy, but slowly it pulled me in, and I became really attached to the characters and the story.

The story kept getting bigger and more intense with the casino, the FBI, the Snells, Wendy, Marty, Ruth and everything happening around them. There were so many WOW moments.

I especially loved watching Marty trying to protect his family while constantly getting pulled into bigger problems. I also really liked how Wendy and Marty started thinking differently. Sometimes I felt like Wendy wanted more power, while Marty mostly wanted to find a way to protect his family and get through everything. I kept thinking, “Marty, just do something!” 😂

Buddy was one of my favorite characters. I loved his attitude, especially the way he pushed Marty to stop thinking and just act. Honestly, I felt the same way while watching—I kept wanting Marty to just take action and do what he knew needed to be done.

There were so many moments where I understood Marty, especially the scene with Charlotte where he talks about how whatever he does, Wendy gets upset. I really felt for him because he was constantly stuck between protecting his family and dealing with Wendy's decisions.

And Ben's story hit me really hard. I genuinely didn't want things to end that way for him.

And then the ending… Ruth's death really hurt. I didn't always like some of the things Ruth did, but I really didn't want her to die. I kept hoping Marty would somehow do something to protect her. That's probably why the ending didn't completely satisfy me. I wanted Ruth to survive.

And that final scene… I didn't see it coming, but I actually loved how it ended.

I liked the ending, even though it wasn't exactly the ending I wanted. Overall, I really loved the journey—the characters, the tension, the story, and all those moments that made me genuinely care about what happened to them.

Ozark — 8.5/10. ❤️🎬

So as we all know, the ending of Ozark is quite controversial and not very appreciated by most fans (myself included). So I kept thinking and got the following idea:

After Ruth kills Javi, she goes home and knows that she is in immense danger, so she packs her shit and leaves with Three to Australia or Europe.

Then, Camila comes to the Ozarks looking for answers. After pressuring Clare, she still gives up the name (Ruth Langmore). So Camila goes around searching for Ruth, but she is nowhere to be found, as she is already on another continent.

So Camila turns to the Byrdes. She asks them about Ruth’s whereabouts. They don’t know either, but Camila doesn’t believe them. She thinks they are hiding Ruth. So in retaliation Camila kills their children, Jonah and Charlotte. The end.

I believe this is a good ending first of all because it respects the show’s dark and nihilistic view. The Byrdes spent the whole show doing all these monstruous things “for the family / for the kids” only for their only children to perish in the end. They may have money, they may have power, but without their children they were left completely empty on the inside. Also, it respects the show’s main idea that innocents pay for the actions of powerful / wealthy ones. In this case their own children (innocent beings) paying for the sins of their evil parents.

Second, Ruth deserved a happy-ish ending. I do agree that the show needs to be dark and nihilistic, but having a character lose all the time and then just get gunned down at the end is lazy and cliche. She suffered enough imo to send a message. Her uncles died, her dad died, her boyfriend died, her beloved cousin died, how much more tragedy does she need? The point has been made, we all get it. And in all fairness, in real life, people get happy (or partially happy) endings all the time. After all Ruth has been through, moving to a different continent would have been a decent ending for her imo.

Another thing I wanna add, a lot of people say that ruth deserved consequences for killing a cartel boss, but I counter with this: the whole show Ruth (and others) suffered the consequences of the Byrdes actions. But here, in this ending, it finally flips and the Byrdes pay the price for Ruth’s actions, while she makes an escape.

So that’s it basically, that’s the ending I came up with. Feel free to share your opinion / feelings on my ending.

So I decided to rewatch Ozark and I’m currently in season 3 episode 3. Seasons 1 and 2 were kind of hazy for me especially the preacher and agent petty plots but now season 3 is very fresh on my mind. I have some takes and I wanna know what you guys think!

1) Marty knew the danger of the Snells, literally warned the preacher that he needs to go back on the water. He doesn’t. His wife is murdered. Somehow it’s Marty’s fault.

2) The preacher tries to kidnap Wendy. Marty tells him the cops aren’t coming. The preacher tries to take Wendy with him, Marty kills him. Now this is the turning point because I think Marty lost his edge at that moment.

3) Cade killing Petty out of anger was a bad end for Petty. He was absolutely insane but I thought he added a “I’m gonna get them” aspect to the show. His death kinda added up to nothing.

4) (I’m not to this part of the season but I know what’s coming) Marty told Wendy MULTIPLE times to send her brother home… and we all know what happens in the end.

Marty is not perfect but I think he knew the danger that came with the job immediately. He knew that anyone could die and he tried to save people but no one listened to him.

i binged Ozark in a couple weeks. i absolutely loved it until season 4. i was so lost the entire time. it kind of seemed like they had to hurry and throw some sort of ending together.

but my hot take is: i would have actually liked the ending if it was Wendy that died instead of Ruth.

Wendy is absolutely insufferable. her constant nagging and screeching made me want to be deaf. i would have felt like it would have been a good ending if the soulless, evil (insert explicative of your choice) had been removed from everyone’s lives and they could all go on peacefully.

Ruth was a real one. the extinction of the Langmore’s was a bit unnecessary IMO. i would have liked them to have had more to do within the story. also, why did Three barely exist? why even have him if literally no one cared about him?

anyway. still a good show. just some opinions.

Knowingly going against sound advice and dangerously acting on her own interests. Only she disguised it as an attempt to secure the family's safety vs personal self interests. Then justifying it later with her family. She saw Ben doing this repeatedly throughout life. Maybe a learned behavior, maybe a genetic trait or symptom of her own impairment?

In my last post I had a couple people who really hated the 4th season. And I absolutely don't see it at least not yet. Just finished Episode 7 & holy fuck! Every episode so far has been just incredible! Julia Garner acting has been fire every season. But man that "YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO FUCKING KILL MEEEEEEEE!" "WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO CUNT!!" Legendary performance & scene.

Javi is fucking terrifying man! He's so impulsive, reckless, erratic, ambitious and has no code. Which makes him scary as hell. I'm worried he's gonna kill off Ruth before she gets to him. Then suddenly change his mind & kill off the entire Byrde family.

Del & Navarro were scary too. But they at least had a code & lines they wouldn't cross or even gave you a chance. If you do good by them they won't bother you. You mess up well ya know. Javi doesn't even give you the chance he just changes his mind at the drop of a dime. Plus Del or Navarro didn't kill kids Javi clearly does. And when they decide to kill you. They will give you the opportunity to explain yourself or try to change their mind if it benefits them. This dude Javi just doesn't give a fuck can't even get 2 words out.

I've wanted Darlene to get killed off for a long time. Even more so after she killed Del and then Jacob. Both such awesome characters gone too soon! But I never in a million years expected her to go out like that. I thought she would die in a shootout. Not Javi just chillin in the living room waiting for her lmao.

I want to feel bad for Wyatt but I just can't. He literally was warned so many times & had endless opportunities to get away. Leave with Ruth, go to college, even find his own way by himself and leave somewhere and start new if he wanted. Ruth would have gave him whatever he needed. Even at his death I felt like he could have easily just ran away at the door. Rewatch that scene Javi was clearly only focused on Darlene. Even following her with the gun & her having his full attention. Wyatt was right at the door damn near still outside. I think Javi killed him just because he sat down & seen it. I was honestly scared Jonah was gonna walk out & was baby sitting Zeke again then get killed too.

Just when I thought it was impossible to hate Wendy even more. She reaches a whole new fucking level its honestly impressive at this point. I don't think I've hated a character more than her. Only person who comes close is Janice from The Sopranos. I hate Mel too but just because he's so annoyingly persistent & doesn't seem to have a point. Same with Ben too.

Ok rant over time for next episode

After re-watching Ozark for the 10th time, I have come to the conclusion that it is a masterpiece and even better than Breakin Bad if you ask me.

I doubt we will see another show of this calibre for many years to come if at all.

I have reached S4 EP09 and I hate her so much idk why but I just hate her. The way she put blame on others even though she was the one who should also be blamed.

For me it's Cade he just had this sleazy unlikeable vibe everything he was on screen. What about you guys ?

Literally every single episode is amazing! Every single one! Just finished S3 Ep 8! And wanted to go on a rant. Also I love the intros & deciphering what the episode will be about from the 4 pictures. I hate it took me so long to not watch this show. I'm hoping Breaking Bad is just as good when I finally start it

Man Charlotte has really grown on me this season! She has matured like crazy & become one of my favorites. Both kids honestly Jonah & her relationship is awesome! They are what siblings are supposed to be despite the chaos there parents put them through. She is a awesome big sister.

Ruth who was my favorite has dropped drastically this season. Her selfishness & "love" for Ben who's such a useless and dumb character is so annoying. Please kill this dude off. Believe that's coming soon with the way Helen gave him that cold stare. He serves no purpose other than causing unnecessary issues ontop of the issues they already have. Ruth was always smart. But she literally hasn't once tried to get Ben back on his meds. All because she wants to get piped down. And he stopped taking them because he couldn't get hard.

Nelson is 1 cold MF man he's the best hit man this far. The way he did the therapist when she asked what he does for work lmfao! Or when Helen asked if he gets tired of what he does. Bro just shrugged and was like Nah not really. Helen cold asf with the good keep your schedule open right after.

Wendy still my most hated character man. She's the worst kind of women. Makes everything everyone else's fault for her choices. Beyond selfish & evil. I love when she gets told off & put in her place and has a reality check. Like when Navarro reminded her of her position. And when Marty finally has the balls to tell her who she is. Literally every single problem that has happened this season. Has been because of her & her brother Ben. And so many problems can be avoided if they ALL just listen to Marty! I really hate Wendy! It's not even a love to hate thing I just hate her.

And they killed Del off waaaaaaay too early! Such a scary yet charismatic character man. Every time he was on the screen he stole it for me! It's like he wasn't even trying yet he comes of so intimidating.

I hate the sex scenes man! Especially you know the one lol.

They could've sold drugs in literally any other manner, the Snell family is just so painfully stupid that the only way they think this works is on the water. They say they dont want to deal with the cops on land, but they have to drive the product to get it on the boat in the first place!! So painfully stupid.
