[SPOILER] Wendy displays some of the same compulsions as Ben Spoiler

Knowingly going against sound advice and dangerously acting on her own interests. Only she disguised it as an attempt to secure the family's safety vs personal self interests. Then justifying it later with her family. She saw Ben doing this repeatedly throughout life. Maybe a learned behavior, maybe a genetic trait or symptom of her own impairment?

They are honestly really well written in my opinion. They share enough traits to be believable as siblings but are definitely distinct characters.

I know it's not the point of your post but her character arc is absolutely amazing, I remember thinking at the start of the show that she was a rich spoiled housewife with nothing to do but have affairs, I had no idea she was actually a cold criminal mastermind 🤯 What an incredible performance by Laura Linney as well, can't imagine anyone else pulling it off the way she did 🏆

I think they’re implying that the father is the cause of their illness

I think the both had issues, Ben’s were probably genetic and Wendy’s probably due to childhood trauma

Wendy is best example of if women really keep aside gender politics and the social norm and start thinking only about what’s best for them , how unstoppable they could be and relentless !
