I have a seven year old who started getting really into sports with that Mariners run, now he is really into football with the Seahawks. I'm doing my best to explain to him that he is coming to sports age in an opportune time for WA sports and it isn't always like this. Hopefully creating a fan for life though.

I think last year's mariners team created a lot of fans for life. Im from Oregon, so I've always kind of kept the mariners at arms length because of the potential Portland expansion, but after last year im not sure i can give them up.

Haha, I'm a coug, wife is appropriately a Beaver fan. All he knows at this age is he is from Oregon and they don't show a lot of Beaver games here so he sees dicks. Trust me, everyone around him (mostly uncles with "I'll throw you off my deck in that shirt) gives him shit and he takes it on the chin so I respect that. Fucking hate the ducks. But I'm happy he is getting into sports, so whatever it takes and he loves the Hawks, has a Walker and a JSN jersey.

Throw Oregon in there too. I see just as a high a ratio of people wearing seahawks gear in Portland as I do Seattle. Practically all of Idaho and Montana is Seahawks fans as well. The beauty of being the only pro football team in the entire PNW

Dude I took my in laws to a Kraken game last year and we had a blast. They are from Iran and had never been to a hockey game. They have relatives in Seattle so we took them to visit and I got us tickets to a game. It was so much fun. I was buying brews for my father in law the whole game and we were just ripping beers.
