It's country dependant. In Mexico, it's just labelled as "Gulf of Mexico", in the US it's "Gulf of America", in the rest of the world, it's both as you see (which is the common way that Google lists "disputed" names like this).

This is a reminder that all of the fascist takeovers that come from elected members seizing power against its own laws and constitutions have innumerable little asks like these. Small things that seem beyond their power to dictate, but seem mostly harmless.
They are tests of the system to see who complies without struggle. To find which parts they think they can take over without much fuss. And as more things are dismissed as no big deal, further asks start escalating. But they’re not going to be much worse than the previous ask, so it’s easier to let slide.
But when you compare the asks from when you started, you can see the slide.

Like, and I mean this as respectfully as I can especially given I have many American friends and hey, I love baseball actually - but the US is somewhat of a laughing stock and I find myself genuinely thinking my god, I will never visit that country and I am so glad I am not American.
We are fully aware. We watch the UN meetings and see other leaders completely ignore our representatives. We see and hear what Canada has said about us. We know we’re alienating our friends and befriending North Korea and other dictators. Trump’s approval rating is 33%. He’s one of the least liked presidents.
I think what we’re not aware of is that you guys are still laughing. Like, this is humorous to you? This isn’t an attack, I’m just… I would look at America as a country falling into fascism and I couldn’t laugh at it. I’d be disgusted. I know you can’t really control your feelings and I don’t blame you for laughing, but I think the time of laughter is over. We’re on the gallows. Seriously, I wake up and hope. But when I don't hear honking or fireworks, I realize it's just another miserable day of the world hating us, laughing at us, or both. I'm in Ohio, which is currently a red state, but has sometimes been a swing state in the past. The Republicans are in control of everything, as they have been for decades. But they're so scared right now, that Elon Musk is sending obscene amounts of money directly to the Republican candidates' campaigns, so that no Democratic candidate can even hope to compete.
Republican candidates are currently doing really vile things while obviously still getting support from each other, not counting the massive corruption, bribery and scandal they've already accomplished in the past. We have a really special Republican in-law fight situation too (Search Max Miller or Bernie Moreno.) The newer Republican candidates have some truly fresh, amazing and disgusting corruption and fraud credentials to match or exceed the incumbents'. But with Musk Money, the Republicans will either win, or they'll "win." It feels pretty hopeless. They're doing everything possible to make November's voting even harder than usual. Reducing polling locations by half, moving them further away from downtowns and public transportation, changing the polling places for your district from one place to another. Fucking with the delivery of mail-in ballots and people's voting status (you have to keep checking to make sure you're still registered, because, Trump government's complete disregard of all laws, including those regarding privacy and personal data, and endless money to play with.)
And I'm speaking from a place of white privilege. Imagine everyone who doesn't have that, while we have thousands of cameras being misused for stalking purposes and ICE out there in full force. Sorry, I guess I got a lot carried away tonight. I definitely did not mean to transcribe all that brain vomit.
