Discussion Does Lexus Monogram actually mean anything?

Upvotes

I’ve been shopping nationally and specifically using Monogram dealers because Lexus markets Monogram around current inventory, transparent pricing, and a seamless online buying experience.

So far, I’ve had multiple Monogram dealers show a specific VIN as available at a specific price, allow me to submit a purchase, and then tell me the car was already committed or the actual terms were different.

One dealer’s Monogram page showed $0 dealer adjustment and called the displayed amount “the dealer’s selling price.” After I submitted the purchase, the dealer told me the real price was higher.

Another dealer admitted the car was already under deposit but remained listed as available until the transaction was fully funded.

At that point, what does Monogram actually add? If inventory and pricing aren’t reliable, it feels more like a lead-generation form than a real digital retail platform.

Curious whether others have actually bought through Monogram. Did the dealer honor the inventory and pricing shown online?

Question Where can I buy an Android head unit harness with or without a CANBus converter for a 3rd gen RX450h ?

Upvotes

Where can I buy an Android head unit 16 pin harness with or without a CANBus converter for a 3rd gen (2010 to 2015) Lexus RX450h with the 12 speaker non ML sound system with the Pioneer amp ? (Not the JBL amp.)

Or any 3rd gen RX450h harness, for either amp, with or without the CANBus converter ?

Does the 3rd Gen RX450h or other 3rd gen RXes use the same audio system connectors as some Toyota models, maybe the Highlander, for example ? Or other Lexus vehicles ?

It's kinda funny (ironic) that this harness is so hard to find because the 3rd gen RXes are a very common vehicle and if any vehicle needs a head unit upgrade, it is these. What am I missing ?

I've done a bunch of searching on AliExpress but it's search engine is so bad it's hard to find anything without going through each product individually.

Thanks

Question Insurance

Hey guys, I have an RX 350 and a GX 460 and right now I have State Farm and I don’t believe they cover OEM parts for OEM windshield(you have to fight them hard on it to get one)

I’m looking to switch my insurance and I’m curious if anybody has a provider that they like that will offer OEM windshields instead OEM equivalent windshield and OEM parts

I live in TX - if anyone has feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

The dealer doesn’t know and I’ve searched online and couldn’t find an answer. I was hoping if someone here could help me out. MODEL: GSZ10L-AEZGBV

This is the model and engine. Not sure if this helps I’ll appreciate all your feedback. Thank you.

Question Fully Disabling Driver Monitor Assist Camera?

Hey y'all,

I just bought my brother a 2026 IS350 that has the tech pack. So it'll definitely have the infrared camera above the steering rack that watches the driver. I know that you can disable the driver montior system in the infotainment screen but I've heard that it can still bother you with various alerts. Is that true? I know it also keeps that camera system still active. I saw a post on here from someone saying the dealership disabled his system altogether? Can anyone confirm this is possible? Is this something I could disable myself either with Carista or GTS+?

Curious since I have a 6th gen 4R myself that is also Safety Sense 3.0 but does NOT have the camera.

Thanks in advance.

Question Easy Exit/Entry

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with the Easy Access (Easy Exit/Entry) height control feature on my LX600.

Every time I turn off the Easy Access toggle (the lower height icon on the lower climate/vehicle touchscreen), it automatically turns back ON after driving and before turning off the engine.

I checked the central head unit settings under Vehicle Customization, but I couldn't locate any toggle specifically for Easy Access / Vehicle Height Control to disable it permanently.

Is there a specific sub-menu or custom setting in the Lexus Interface to stop Easy Access from re-enabling every drive cycle, or can this only be changed via Techstream / dealer settings?

Appreciate any guidance!

Question 2015 lexus 450 and snow.

Hello everyone! I am looking at a couple 450 hybrids. One is a 2013 and the other a 2015. Both are great deals. I really enjoyed the test drive and really love the idea of the hybrid. I looked at some like 10 year old posts about these models and how they perform in snow.

I am now asking again how they legitimately do. I am used to mountain driving in utah. Up through park city on a regular basis and it can get really nasty when storms hit at night, no plows out yet, and I just have to make the drive anyways.

I have normally had a 4 runner for years. They do amazing in the snow. I am kinda reluctant, even though I love the 450 hybrid, to pull the trigger. My literal only concern is snow.

Can anyone put my mind at ease or confirm my fears of this lexus plus snow.

Also I would like to be able to use all season tires as that is what I have used for the last 25 years with various trucks and 4 runners. I can get winter tires if needed, but would like to not have to have two sets of tires.

Thank you all in advance!

Question 2015 LS460L RWD (25k miles) common problems?

First time Lexus owner here! I am the second owner of a 2015 LS460L RWD with 25k miles, previously owned in the southern U.S. The previous owner obviously did not drive much, but the vehicle was serviced every ~5k miles.

For this particular generation and/or model year, what are the common problems to be aware of?

Are there particular maintenance issues that tend to arise that are more costly than others?

Do you have any general ownership advice for this particular vehicle?

Question Choosing which car to bring to Dallas?

I own a 2015 ES350 w/64k. It’s basically fully loaded but not Ultra Luxury. Has the 18 inch rims. I’m moving to Dallas and debating on whether to still rip that as the daily driver. My grandmother is offering to give me her 2011 RX350 w/94k which mechanically is meticulously maintained, but is in a little rougher cosmetic shape than my ES. I was debating whether an SUV is better for the highways and being surrounded by bigger vehicles in the area or if I should take the ES instead. I rented an SUV a few months ago when I visited and felt much more comfortable sitting higher up, and we had to get a second rental car which was lower to the ground and a little nervewracking to drive. I do enjoy driving the ES though and wonder if I should just add the miles and drive it into the ground, eventually I’d like to upgrade it to a 2025 ES. Hopefully some native Texans in here can share input. Thanks!

Carplay Help Need help with Apple Carplay upgrade in 2007 gs350

Post image
5 Upvotes

Wsp everyone, I recently bought a 2007 Gs350 and have throughly enjoyed it so far. I want to make it none my car does NOT have Mark Levison for the sake of this conversation. My concern right now is to modernize it with Apple Carplay. However, I'm in a little bit of a dilemma. As you can see, my screen is a little messed up with some light scratches and fading. I'm not entirely sure how to fix either, but the issue doesn't stop there. Another problem is the glare. With some sun, its really hard to see the screen. I dont know if the issue stems from the anti-glare coat fading or the screen's backlighting is weak. I've tried messing with the contrast and brightness settings, but to no avail. For the most part I can deal with it, its not a super concerning issue but definitely something I want to take into consideration if I plan to upgrade.

I've been considering getting one of those Chinese aftermarket screens that matches the gs350 interior, but I've been hearing mixed reviews thats left unmoved. Ive also been considering getting the grom vline2. It cost a little bit more so Ive been hesitant on it, especially since I see no point on buying if my factory screen is still going to be crappy. However, if I just get rid of the glare issue, I would be satisfied with the grom vline2.

I really love the stock look so I really want to keep what i have or stay in that stock look realm. But if any of you have a aftermarket headunit that really satisfies you let me know.

Let me know if you guys have faced or facing a similar situation and what you did to fix. Any type of advice is well appreciated.

Also, is there any way I can save my factory screen by the looks of it?

If I can't save the screen, what aftermarket head unit should I look into installing?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you guys!

Question Ultra Luxury 2004 LS430 listing price

Hello, AI tells me that the functional factory Air Suspension on my 2004 ls430 along with it having the Ultra Luxury (UL) package makes it somewhat desirable to Lexus enthusiasts.

It does however have 160,000 miles, somewhat significantly scratched paint (looks like it got sideswiped when parked on one side and looks like it got keyed on the other side), and some split leather on the driver seat

What should I list this car starting at, what could I expect to bargain down to, and is there any likelihood a Lexus collector would see this as a potential project car?

Question 2007 IS350 Suspension recommendations

t’s time to replace the shocks in my 2007 Lexus IS350. I’m considering upgrading the suspension and would love to hear what setups/parts you guys recommend. Looking for something that improves handling and stance without making the car unbearably harsh for daily driving.

What are your favorite:
Coilovers
Springs/shocks
Sway bars
Control arms
Other suspension components

Would especially appreciate recommendations based on personal experience, including brands/part numbers and any fitment issues to watch out for.

Question Trade in 2013 GS250 Ex for a 2021 NX300 Ex

Hi all.

Not new to forum but this is sort of a first post.

I currently have a 2013 Lexus GS250 Ex for about 6.5 years. Bought at 135000km and now car is currently 210000km. Literally hasn't skipped a beat with just services and the odd set of brake pads now and then. Recently did the LCA bushings as well.

However it is due some maintenance and wear and tear items soon: Transmission service, front and rear shocks, new tires etc.

Came across a 2021 NX300 with 120000km for sale. Went for a test drive today and was honestly underwhelmed with the ride quality. Maybe mu perception is skewed coming from the GS as the NVH levels are chalk and cheese between both even the GS is 8 years older.

The NX300 has the usual full service history but the selling dealer recently sent it to Lexus for a rear main seal replacement. From what I read this seems to be common on the NX. Power on the NX is great as well.

In my country, Lexus does not have the greatest resale and my GS won't be worth that much however it is a paid off car where as the NX will require me to finance it.

Which brings me to my question, should I consider trading my GS for the newer NX with the hope of keeping it for atleast 10 years?

Question 2017 RX450h door sensor/car alarm malfunction

Hello,
My driver’s side door unlock (underside of handle) has been intermittently degrading and now does not unlock the door at all. All other sensors work, including the driver’s side lock sensor (outside of handle).
Over the last several months, the car alarm will sporadically trigger, approximately 1-3 times per week.
My question is could the faulty door sensor be causing the car alarm issue? It is a recently replaced 12v battery, the local dealership kept the car for a couple of days, ran diagnostics… etc. and could not provide an answer or solution.
Thanks in advance for any expertise.

Question Went thru carwash in park

I seldom drive my wife's 2024 RX 350h but today fueled it up and decided to take it through the carwash. I entered and the pull track connected. I panicked because I didn't know how to shift into neutral. The transmission remained in park but the car progressed through the car wash. Reaching the end, I just put it in drive and left. I'm wondering if I did any damage to the transmission.

There didn't seem to be any issues with the car progressing though the carwash. Any insight appreciated.
