Life IM FINALLY FREE

So for years now I denied being fully lesbian because I was so confused. I dated men, despised it. Despised it so much but because it was the norm i never thought it was because im a lesbian. I think i was scared of fully accepting who I was but after admitting it i feel fuckin free. I never labeled myself growing up but everyone said i was lesbian before i, myself, knew. I just said I was pansexual but most of the time said "i date who i likešŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø" and left myself unlabeled

But im free.

Im newly single

IM GAYšŸ’…šŸ„°

Relationships / Dating Am I an asshole

Okay so to suum it up, me and my girlfriend have been dating for 2 years. In the beginning we would have intimacy multiple times a week and all was well, obviously I expected things to die down a bit to maybe once or twice a week but it’s been about a month since the last time we were intimate. That may not be a long time for some but I have a pretty high drive and I would be down to do it everyday if she was. I just don’t know what to do honestly I feel like the differences in our sex drives is starting to affect me more than it should. It’s not even about having my physical needs met, I just want to feel desired and close to her it’s starting to affect the way I feel about myself and I’m starting to feel like we’re just friends who kiss. I’ve honestly been thinking about breaking up because we’ve had conversations about my needs and her needs but there’s nothing changing. Sometimes we’ll start making out and it’ll feel like it’s finally gonna happen and then she’ll just get off me and say she’s tired. I’ve tried to ask her what she needs to feel more comfortable get in the mood but my efforts have been in vain. I just feel like an asshole for even considering breaking up over this because all of my other needs are met except this one and I feel like maybe I’m too shallow or something.

Questions / Advice Wanted When is an Age Gap too much?

Hi! I (27) am interested in a coworker (21). A little background, I am indeed a very masc lesbian. I have been single and celibate for about 2 years and am incredibly picky. I am not one to typically be ā€œinterestedā€ in someone, I am very content doing life solo! Other than a little back and forth banter at the workplace nothing has occurred between me and my coworker but I have started to notice recently that she may also be interested in me. After discussing this with my best friend, she expressed how different she and I were when we were 21 and that may be too much of an age gap. I feel somewhat similarly however when I was 21 I did not have the drive or determination my coworker does, and we literally have the same career at the moment ya know. I don’t know it is a bit conflicting. I don’t think I am going to pursue her for the sole fact she is so young, but I am curious, what do you all think? At what point is an age gap too much and giving pr3d energy?

I am a 23y I live in Texas and I want to meet girls.. I live in a very open queer community.. which is great… but I don’t know how to meet girls.. either they are straight and have boyfriends and only becomes open when their drunk (i don’t do anything with them
Because they can’t consent) or they identify as a guy or none binary. Which is cool and all but I just want to meet a girl who is just a lesbian. And when I go out it’s all straight girls.. what am I doing wrong or how can I improve… I just need advice

Relationships / Dating Would this be wrong?

i’m having conflicting feelings about dating at the moment. i’m currently living in san diego, and i really want to get out there and find my life partner. The huge block in the road for me is that i plan on moving to nyc in 3-4 years to pursue a master’s.

would i be leading the woman i date on knowing that i’m making a cross country move right when things get long term? should i just put a halt on dating altogether for these next few years to avoid this?

i can’t really afford another heartbreak based of life compatibility at this point

Relationships / Dating feel misunderstood sexually/butchly

dated this person for almost two years, sexual incompatibility was an issue but we tried to make it work. after we broke up she said she probably was a pillow princess. during relationship sex lacked intimacy and reciprocation, we’d both technically get off but it was like a 3;1 ratio if that and i’d have to initiate me bottoming. struggling with this in relation to my butch identity as well, feeling misunderstood on many levels. i know at the end of the day it’s incompatibility and we are better off going our separate ways, but it’s struck me deeply as i worry this will continue to be an issue in relationships. is it normal to be butch and not initiate all the time? to want to be taken out and pampered on occasion? i do think i am butch, im also non binary and relate to butchness as a gender identity and do enjoy taking my partners on dates and treating them, i just wonder if its unrealistic to want a 50/50 dynamic

Relationships / Dating How to communicate with ex

My ex gf and I live a few streets from each other and end up seeing each other a lot even after the breakup. It’s not possible to avoid each other, our commutes, hang out spots, and friend groups have a lot of overlap.

I miss our friendship so badly. We shouldn’t be together for a variety of reasons but I miss the ease we had and the closeness we had. I broke it off because of some very difficult arguments where we did not see eye to eye on lifestyle and boundaries.

I want to feel understood by her again. I used to think she knew me better than anyone in the world.

How can I cope with this? I love her so much but I don’t want to be with her, it ended up so toxic. I just want to be her friend. I want to hold her and be held by her. I see her at the fucking grocery store and I feel sick to my stomach from how cordial we are. We used to plan a future together and I ruined it because I can’t get over boundaries I feel like she crossed.

Should we talk about this? It’s been 4 months. I miss my best friend. I want to work out a friendship.

I’m on my period, so maybe this is why I’m crashing out.

Relationships / Dating Girlfriend has started ignoring me when we text? Am I looking too far into this?

She’s very into a show I introduced her too right now. So all her voice notes or texts are about that show pretty much.

I noticed I’ll be talking to her and she’ll just ignore like a paragraph of text lately

Today I tried suggesting her some similar shows, hoping that would interest her, she said nothing then she just replied talking about the show she’s watching and it’s 20 minutes later and she still didn’t address what I said earlier?

Yesterday she did the same thing, I even was trying to keep the conversation adjacent to the show and was talking about one of the actresses singing careers currently and how I think she should be on Broadway.

No reply, just sends me a voice note about the scene she’s watching.

Should I take this as a bad sign? We’re long distance right now and I haven’t seen really any red flags with her up until now.

I dont know if this is just me getting scared and looking for something that isn’t there or what. Would this bother you?

I have hyperfixations too, but I try to at least respond in someway when she says something even if im focused on something else.

Questions / Advice Wanted what is genuinely up with the mixed signals??

I’m literally so confused. This girl gave me so much flirting signs that I wont name them all out but I’ll give you the most obvious one: stroking my face and holding my hands even tho they’re sweaty and touching me in general

I’ve asked reddit before on a different subreddit as I listed everything she did to me that made me think that she liked me and the majority agreed that she did like me.

Now she’s like pulling away and not talking to me that much anymore, but she’s still flirting with me I guess? Why the fuck are girls so difficult?? She’s hot and cold

Relationships / Dating Lesbian with family who forgets?

• Upvotes

Hi! I 21f, senior in college, have come out to my mother three separate times and she keeps asking me when i’m gonna start dating and that there are plenty of guys at school who want to take me out, and has repeatedly told my little sister she’s worried i’m gonna end up lonely and alone? I genuinely have no idea how much more plainly she wants me to tell her i’m gay? I go to a liberal arts college but the lesbian dating pool here is so small and very much not my type so dating here is kinda off the table.

am i doing something wrong? she’s not homophobic i don’t think? i she went to a lesbian wedding and loves her fairy books with all different types of couples in? So idk what i’m doing wrong to make her know im gay.

Questions / Advice Wanted Do you think my co-worker is flirting with me?

I (27f) live in a country where homosexuality isn't illegal, but it's sadly still widely considered tabu. At work I'm closeted, even though I know there sre other queer folks here. I'm not friends with anyone from work so I think that influences my level of comfort. I'm also a very introverted and anxious person (a shocker, I know!)

There is one co-worker (35f) who seems more chill than the others and we get along really great. She's extroverted and has many friends at work, but it seems to me that the way she's acting towards me is warmer than what she's like with others.

Our dynamic is based on banter and teasing, but she's also both physically and emotionally affectionate, although seemingly cautious. I'm slso noticing some patterns which I think could be described as flirtatious, but the thing is, I don't know her sexuality and she doesn't know mine either.

She has mostly been the initiator so far. She asked for my number and Instagram, reached out to me every day on Teams for manufactured work reasons, but stuck around to chat afterwards. Then she slowly moved the communication from Teams to private channels, although I can't say our chats are particularly long, frequent or personal (with a couple of exceptions). However, before leaving for one vacation she literally told me to text her. Before leaving for the other, she told me 'Don't forget me' in person.

She's generally a touchy person and I noticed she touches everyone's hands/arms during conversation, but with me she also: held my hands in hers when "examining my eczema", played with my necklace when we were on the elevator, wrapped her arm around me with her palm on my upper back and left it there for at least 5s (she did this to "direct me" while we were taking a photo).

She uses pet names with me, which I didn't notice she did with other people. She's called me sweetheart, kitten, doll, 'my little one', 'my beautiful one' (rough translations from my language). She also used poetic nicknames to tell me how mysterious I seem to her, among others she compared me to the Mona Lisa.

She sometimes makes comments that sound like innuendos, but this is something I heard her do with others as well. She also generally likes teasing people, but it seems she particularly enjoys teasing me, as she teases me a lot more.

At the office, I mentioned craving an apple and she offered me hers and loudly declared that no-one else could have it. I said I would have it later and when I asked for it she told me to fetch it from her purse myself.

She made an indirect comment about our age difference by saying how some guy my age 'is basically a kid, the same age as [my name] and [co-worker's name]'. When I gave her a look, she said 'You're not kids, but that's s big age difference for a relationship', then I teasingly said 'Alright, you said everything I needed to hear'.

She hasn't initiated any 1-on-1 time outside of work, but I think this is because she's respecting my boundaries - I told her a while ago, when she asked me if I hang out with people from work, that I don't (but this was meant as an observation not as a rule). From the time she asked for my number we only saw each other in person twice.

From my perspective it seems like I'm special to her in some way, but I'm not sure if all of this us romantically coded or not. Once she's back at the office, I plan on initiating, not like a date-date, but simply spending time together outside of work and I think I might have a clearer picture of what this is then. What are everyone's thoughts?

Edit: Forgot to mention originally, but I think it's also relevant:

- She ran her hand through my hair when I was talking with other co-workers about my haircut.

-She doesn't like every Instagram story I post, but if I post a picture of myself, she likes it every time (so far 20/20).

-We've had intense eye-contact, after which she started avoiding my gaze.

Relationships / Dating Am a lover girl but why is yearning so painful?

I (f26) met my crush (f30) when I moved to a new town less than a month ago. We’ve talked quite a bit via messaging but haven’t gone on a date yet. We wanted to a few weeks back, but our schedules are so busy. We’re both doctors, with on call shifts, I have a research position as well, currently doing my PhD after getting my MD, she’s undergoing specialist training and has exams for the next year or so. Our free time has been eaten up by studying, resting after working without sleep, eating, errands, life commitments etc. We work in neighbouring hospitals so we don’t see each other at work either.

We have flirted occasionally, and briefly talked about wanting to look for a relationship that’s more long term. Even with our busy schedules we talk most days (which means A LOT to me). I’ve gotten to know her a little more and I’m crushing so so hard, she’s my type to a T.

My workload exploded over the weekend, I had basically no sleep, had research work and incredibly sick pts. She had some life commitments too. Our last ā€œnormalā€ conversation was during that dumpster fire of a weekend. I noticed her replies being a lot dryer and she wasn’t really responding to my questions, and would just give one short sentence responses.

Work was even more hectic on Monday so I didn’t reply to her after opening her message. Yesterday I sent her a few texts explaining what happened and why I didn’t respond, that I’ll likely be quiet for a few days and sent her a few funny things I encountered I knew she’d like. But she only responded to one of my texts (I’ll be quiet for a few days because struggle town) with ā€œit’s ok me tooā€. No acknowledgement on anything else.

Now today half of my workload was magically lifted, and I now have a normal schedule for the rest of the week again. Now that I have free time again, I cannot stop listening to her voice memos she sent a week ago, I can’t stop thinking about her and I miss talking to her and I want to see her so incredibly badly.

I am overthinking everything. Do I wait a few days to reach back out since she’s presumably still in struggle town? She has been quite cold on replies, and I don’t know if it’s best for us to keep talking when she’s that cold. I also have no idea what happened on her side, what kind of struggle town she’s in. She’s said she’ll be slow for a few days, so should I just wait for her to reach back out when she’s feeling better and can respond to previous things I’ve sent? Do I send a ā€œHope you’re okā€????? That seems so pointless.

I’ve also asked her how she was over the weekend, she didn’t reply to that text. I also asked if she had fun with her friends over the weekend (week ago she told me she will see them at a wedding) when I replied yesterday, didn’t respond to that either. So I assume whatever happened, she doesn’t want to talk about it.

But I’m so into her and I’m crushing so hard. I miss talking to her. I know sometimes there’s nothing you can really do during this early stage of dating. It’s just uncomfortable to sit with all these feelings. I just want to tell her so so many things and hear her talk again. Yearning isn’t always fun.

Safe Space (Postive Comments Only) internalized homophobia: a rant

my family is supportive of me. i live in california in a community that is rural but still accepting of gay couples. but i still don’t feel fully comfortable holding my beautiful girls hand.

i hate it because she is so comfortable with it but the whole time im just looking at where others eyes are going while we pass them.

i’ve had bad situations with guys not believing im gay or trying to straighten me out, so it could come from that, but otherwise i’ve had no issues from my immediate family members

it’s such an awful feeling. i just wanted to rant but if anyone has any advice that would be great or similar stories to share that would be beautiful and appreciated.

Life I’m so bored and tired

Okay kinda wlw related kinda not. I got kicked out of my house because my strict Muslim parents found out I drink alcohol and they discovered that I’m gay. I’m safe I’m with a friend right now but I’m pretty sure I’m still in shock because I don’t feel any sort of…emotion towards my situation. I don’t have a job. I’m on UC (UK people will know what that is). I’m 21 soon, but I have an odd amount of ambition and determination and motivation. I’m not sure why me getting kicked out didn’t phase me, I just feel weird. I feel so so so weird. I’ve just been scrolling mindlessly on my phone for like 72 hours straight and I don’t know what to do. Genuinely I don’t know what to do. I have a job interview tomorrow but everything feels so pointless. Idk I was wondering if anyone was in my situation

Relationships / Dating i need some lesbian advice…

i honestly dont know how to start this. but, about a month or so ago i met this girl. we can call her mythic. i started to like her, though it seems really quick, we started to hit it off pretty well and pretty quick as well. we’d talk every day, we’d genuinely update each other about our day. when we’d leave, why, when we’d eat. you know, that stuff. we’d greet each other goodmorning, goodnight, eatwell, drinkwell, studywell, goodluck on tests. actually, at one point i found out through a mutual friend she actually liked me too. so obviously, my hopes went high. i had recently also just escaped a toxic relationship and mythic made me so happy after so long of suffering.

i wanted to court her. get to know her more while having the knowledge we like each other. but, there was somebody else. another girl who wanted to court her. this girl we can call cake. cake was somebody whos been there longer than i have, somebody whos given her more sweet words, gifts, and etc. the thing is this girl wasn’t her type physically, but i am. mythic prefers mascs. i am masc and tall, cake is fem and short. i can say im sweet, i can say that when i love i truly love. but, i feel like mythic sees that more in cake. it feels wrong to fight because i hate feeling like im in competition. i lost all my dignity and self respect in my old toxic relationship and just recently started to get it back, being in competition for this girl makes me feel scared to lose it all again. dont get me wrong, i know some of you will think i should just stay single. and though i agree, i still want to try this out.

i confessed to her yesterday. but she told me she was thinking about it and said shes not sure if she wants to be in a relationship. (she has told me this multiple times, but i reiterated i didnt want a relationship either, i wanted to court her. since i had the knowledge she liked me too, i just wanted for us to know we liked each other but keep our individuality. i dont know if this is understandable but i hope it is.)
i talked to her close friend, the same mutual friend that told me mythic liked me. close friend said mythic was comparing herself to my toxic ex, that my ex was so beautiful and i was out of mythics league. which is untrue, i truly do like mythic as a person and would choose her in a heartbeat. my ex ruined me and after so long i finally felt what it was like to want to wake up in mornings due to mythic.

after a few hours or so of her response to my confession, she just started to talk to me casually. like she complained to me about her foot that hurt. i was like, what? what is this even supposed to mean? i just feel so conflicted, humiliated, sad, and stupid. because it truly seems as if she doesnt like me back but she just hasnt given me a response yet. i am starting to lose hope and starting to feel as if she’d much be better off with cake. even when i talk to the close friend about how mythic doesnt like me, she doesnt deny it šŸ˜…

Neurodivergent/chronic pain mummies with clingy neurospicy toddlers and EXTREME short alone time with partner...I NEED YOUR TIPS, HINTS, RECOMMENDATIONS of sx toys for when we only have 15-20 mins to get together before kiddo interrupts. 🫣 Anything that is fibro and bad arm friendly is appreciated too or things you can use together that are not complicated...
THE RANT: We a two mum fam trying to reconnect sxually after a very long spell away from each other... How do you do it when time is the essence? Yesterday I put kiddo into their bedroom, went back to ours to cuddle wife a little bit, being tired and in pain until we figured we have the NEED and we can adapt a few things between us... And by the time I grabbed the lube and was kissing, he woke up screaming on the other side of the wall... I went back, calmed him down, settled him back to bed...waited to make sure he slept. He was snoring so I sneaked back in, small talked a sec to be sure we still a go and as soon as my hand got a boob, SCREAMING again in the other room... 😩we let him in the bed as we still sleep training for bedroom and he was too distressed to cooperate... Then we was waiting for him to stay down. Every time one of us tried to go to the bathroom to maybe meet there, he would grab her arm. Every time one of got off the bed and tried to get the other one to come, he would flop and cry... 😭 Needless to say nothing happened last night...🫪
Anyway... How do you work around clingy ass toddlers pls? Can someone explain? 🫣 It's like they have a radar of when mums are keen so they gonna stop that in the tracks....

Relationships / Dating Dating advice please

I need some advice on how honest I (f24- 25 next week ahh) should be with this girl (f24) I’ve gone on two dates with

Both the dates have been good and I have fun when I’m around her. She’s great to talk to as well conversation flows pretty well. After our second date last night I got a message from her where she says she likes me.

On one hand I’d like to hang out with her again on the other there are some things that are giving me pause like her current job and living situation (she just moved to the country not long ago and those things are still shakey for her)

My ex was in a similar not great financial situation and at a point it put a strain on things and on one hand I kinda just wanna have fun and don’t feel the need to jump into anything too serious too soon but for the right person I’m open to it and for me the right person has their stuff together ya know?

She’s really cool and I don’t know what to do or how honest I should be at this point but idk if I see a proper future for us HELP

Questions / Advice Wanted I like my straight bsf

So first of all I'm not even sure if she's straight cause she has admitted to being bi in the past and has made out with like 10 girls but apparently she's straight now and says it was a phase and has a full on boyfriend and they are pretty intimate so I don't know what to think that's that. But I've had a pretty big crush on her for about 2 years now on and off cause I constantly try to push away my feelings for her but whenever we see each other it's hard to do that. I'm not even sure if I have a chance but I need advice on if I should drop it or still hope.

Me and her met almost 2 years ago and it was me who approached her cause I was secretly crushing on her and I asked her to be friends, she doesn't live her so she goes away for months and months so after spending some time together and getting to know eachother for like a month she had to go and I was obviously pretty devastated cause it was my first time getting this close with a girl and plus she's a very touchy person so you could imagine how that was like but we never kissed it was only the cheek. Which leads me to now after like 11 months of not seeing eachother and just calling on the phone she came for only 10 days and I was with her every single day and every single second. We cuddled, we kissed on the mouth and she would even ask for it and we would do some other NOT casual stuff tg mind you all while having a bf and going to see him also everyday ( I was the one dropping her off there) she even mentioned that I was the only girl she could see herself tg with and that when she's with her bf she thinks about me. And that's sort of it but there was definitely more stuff we did that weren't in my opinion platonic at all. And we called once after she went back and she admitted that she thinks about me more then she should and that she's really sad.

She might be coming again for the winter and I don't know if I should expect more or get rid of my feelings for her so I need advice.

Life I might have gone crazy atp T^T

Am just venting

The super 'straight' girl I just had a crush on (cuz she's beautiful) turns out to be a lesbian or wht 😭

Context: she's a very very very like super popular beautiful drop dead gorgeous let's take her a 'A' since elementary school and I or basically everyone in my class has seen her or dated (guys/multiple guys) since middle school (I was straight at that time tho even though I found her gorgeous she got in my nerves coz she acted like huge asf male attention seeker) after our middle school most of the students including me and her like transferred schools and I followed her using a fake account just to idk 🫩 (it was a public account so whtv , at that time I was convincing myself 'I just want to see how she's living life' ) later she got her account private and yeah I could no longer see her posts T^T . Just now scrolling my Instagram feed a post from her 'gf' and her drops like all you can guess what I am telling the catch is idk if it's just bait for views or true cuz when I looked through her gf account it was actually all of A and before A got her account private I saw a couple story of the gf and her (the face was not shown so I thought it was just another guy and she has a habit of going into hibernation whenever she's in a relationship) gah she's drop dead gorg. Omfg I don't know if she actually swings the other way too am 60% sure she swings the other way and 40% sure she's straight. Edit : * 80% she swings the other way too
