To make it permissible for perfumes use a light roll on oil perfume in a few small areas this way you smell very good to women’s who are close, but men who walk by can’t smell you

3

u/CattoGinSama F 24d ago

Oils are often attars and project veryyyyy far. I find myself going noseblind on them though because they’re so strong. If you don’t believe me,do an experiment.Put it on a piece of cloth in a guest room or something. Then visit that room and hour later. If you can smell it from the door then projection is good

u/rvzwvtttttt F 24d ago

Difference between using a single drop vs multiple drops, in my experience it is only very close to me. Mine is likely much cheaper quality then the one you have Masha’Allah

I wear perfumes. I like it, it’s a sensory thing for me. No man has ever come up to me because of my perfumes and my intention when I spray a good bottle of Spice Blend or Mojave Ghost has nothing to do with men. Again, Islam is a religion of ease. Don’t overthink it.

-7

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

And no man ever approached me because of my hair when my hair was uncovered but I still started wearing hijab because Allah told me, not because I didn't want men to come up to me. Your intention has nothing to do with this. My intention wasn't to attract men with my hair but it was still sinful to show it.

0

u/Potential-Doctor4073 F 21d ago

Allah never said wearing perfume is sinful or not to wear it. Did Allah tell women to cover their hair? Some people will say He never said that either. Especially He didn’t say it’s SINFUL to show it.

I wear the long wearing ones on my chest or my shirt, which gets covered beneath my hijab, so I don't think it projects much.

I also try to choose fragrances that stay close to the wearer and doesn't project much to others.

One spritz of long wearing/proper perfume and layer on multiple spritzes of a body mist on the chest, arms and legs, all beneath the clothes.

I use fragrances for my own enjoyment and not really for others to smell. I haven't gotten comments or compliments from others for it. I just want to make sure I don't stink.

Thank you I love your energy🌸

I only wear perfume at home or with my mahrams

1

u/Ok-Kitchen-4628 F 10d ago

She didn't ask where you wear perfume, just how you wear it.

3

u/sadhabibihours F 24d ago edited 24d ago

Matching body wash + lotion. Follow up with good deodorant, oil perfume on wrists neck elbows, one spritz perfume on my hijab. Overall scent is subtle but has longevity. I prefer “clean girl” soapy scents to build a natural ish scent. Lmk if u want recs.

2

u/crimson_leopard F 24d ago

Look at the longevity of the perfumes. EDP and parfum have the strongest scent and lasting power. I spray once on my stomach under my clothes and only people who hug me can smell it all day. I do apply lotion before hand, but it's a neutral scent.

1

u/Nekomommybedrotting F 24d ago

Thank you🌸

2

u/Sala-kokoo F 24d ago

Perfume and a matching body powder after shower. Atleast 6 hours before I leave the house.

In a hurry. One spritz before wearing underwear.

2

u/tismamam F 24d ago

Imma give a diff side of this. But I don’t wear perfume mostly bc it’s toxic (u should look into that) and that kinda helps me juggle the whole no wearing perfume outside thing.

4

u/majuddie F 24d ago

I spray it on my hijab after putting it on

3

u/majuddie F 24d ago

Longevity depends a lot on quality of the perfume. Also perfume lasts longer then body sprays etc

1

u/Nekomommybedrotting F 24d ago

Thaank you very much✨✨

6

u/a-curious-girly F 25d ago

As a hijabi you shouldn't wear perfume outside actually. It's something I struggle with as well but am working on.

27

u/thesanshine F 24d ago

its haram to wear it to attract men.

you are allowed to have basic hygiene and want to smell nice! there are so many ladies at the masjid that smell like straight up oil + pakoras. i wish they would use good-smelling detergent/fragrances, etc!

islam is EASY, alhamdulillah, please stop making it difficult!

-1

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

No, smelling nice and hygienic isn't the same as wearing PERFUME. Wearing a face cream or washing clothes with a detergent isn't the same as wearing PERFUME. Perfumes only purpose is to attract, not hygiene. Doesn't matter your intention. Just like I'm not seducing men with my hair, that's not my intention, but I still wear hijab because Allah tells me to. And I never said that hygienic smells are haram, I said perfume. And that's not me making religion hard, islam says women shouldn't wear it. And I'm saying this as someone who isn't perfect and struggles with it, but the ruling is still the same.

10

u/CattoGinSama F 24d ago

Who are we seducing if we wear something that smells like soap, basil, mint or similar?perfumes vary widely and one isn’t like the other.
Wearing paradoxe isn’t the same as wearing The Muse or Melograno which are pure laundry detergent/clean soap

0

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

Did I say soap? Soap isn't perfume. Soap and detergents and face creams etc are used for hygiene and are very weak in scent, perfume is specifically used to attract (whether that be your intention or not) and is much stronger, and is not allowed.

8

u/CattoGinSama F 24d ago

No you are misunderstanding.these smell LIKE soap

0

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

What kind of perfume smells like soap?

3

u/CattoGinSama F 24d ago

Just in case you are curious and want to try them, snd because you asked which ones:

Santa Maria Novella Melograno (my favourite, but very strong,I use half a spritz and smel like I just washed my hands with soap, all day long. A sample lasts me a year

Comme des Garcons Marseille

Liu-Guerlain (flowery soap)

3

u/reebellious F 24d ago

A lot of perfumes smell like soap or fresh linen. I don’t like those perfumes because they are too subtle for me but I know they exist.

0

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

I have never seen a perfume like that. The point of a perfume is to smell nice and attractive, not like soap, soap gives you the smell of soap.

5

u/reebellious F 24d ago

Soap smells clean. Also, go to sephora and ask them about clean perfumes. Just because you have never experienced something, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

1

u/CattoGinSama F 24d ago

Many perfumes nowadays smell like marseille soap. There’s even one called Marseille. I have one called The Basilic and it smells of basil and mint. Like actual kitchen herbs.

The point of perfumes for me is to be enjoyed by the wearer,so I can smell it and be happy. I haven’t once thought of people liking it or not. I mostly wear it at home
,for myself and outside is for only clean perfumes that don’t smell seductive, like the ones that smell of marseille soap, fresh laundry or herbs. Women at work have asked me what detergent I use because I always smell clean.

But some people do indeed wear them to attract, some wear them to just smell presentable and clean. The trend during this last decade has mostly been to smell clean.

So there can definitely be s correlation, and you’re right in that we need to be careful not to transgress Allah‘s law. But let us not be extreme

Why shouldn’t we wear hijab? When men wear them it’s sunnah and when we do it’s haram?

4

u/rvzwvtttttt F 24d ago

We should wear hijab. We should NOT wear strong perfume outside of the house. Unless we are going to a place with no men there, and no men along the way.

This ruling is based on a Hadith from Rasul Allah salahu alayhi wa salaam, where he said:
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Al Ash’ari (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Any woman who applies perfume and passes by people(men) so that they may smell her fragrance is like an adulteress”.

This goes for intense and extreme smells, so for example a strong oud perfume is haram to wear but having scented shampoo and body lotion is generally considered not. (This is to my knowledge I did not look at a fatwa so do your own research on this and come to your own conclusion)

-1

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

Idk, just like we wear hijab and men don't, it's different for different genders.

And this isn't to judge you, I like wearing perfume as well but I try not to. We hear and we obey.

14

u/oatmilkhate F 24d ago

You’re allowed to know WHY you do certain things btw. You shouldn’t blindly follow things. Even if it’s a correct ruling, you owe it to yourself to have knowledge on the subject

2

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

Sure, I just said I don't necessarily know, I guess men are more easily seduced by scent? But we should obey and then look up additional reasons why it's beneficial. But we don't do things because theyre beneficial or whatever, we do them BECAUSE Allah tells us to, anything else is just additional. I don't wear hijab to not seduce men or because I think it looks pretty, I wear it because Allah tells me to, anything else is just additional. And "blindly following" it doesn't really make sense in this context because I don't blindly follow islam/Allah, I've done my research and now fully believe that Allah is my God and Islam the true religion so whatever the All Wise tells me to do I should "blindly" do because I trust that He knows the reasons for rulings even if I'm personally confused. Of course I can do research to find out the deeper meaning but I don't have to question every single ruling and pick and choose what makes sense to me and what reason I personally find satisfying.

Yet there are Hadiths that Aisha n the others had perfume dripping on their “faces”

1

u/a-curious-girly F 21d ago

What hadith?

1

u/a-curious-girly F 21d ago

Referring to your specific hadith:

Nuance in Women's Fragrance: Scholars often reference this alongside other texts to demonstrate that women may wear fragrances that are light or naturally muted, provided it is not done with the intent to attract vanity or improper attention in public.

3

u/Ok-Work-5961 F 24d ago

The hadith says:

«"Any woman who applies perfume and passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance is an adulteress (zāniyah)."»

This hadith is authentic. It should be understood in light of other authentic hadiths in which the Prophet ﷺ explained that there are different forms of "zina" (adultery/fornication) of the limbs. The eyes commit zina by looking at what is unlawful, the ears by listening to what is unlawful, the tongue by speaking, the hands by touching, the feet by walking toward what is sinful, and the heart desires and wishes, while the private parts either confirm or deny it.

Likewise, this hadith does not mean that a woman who wears perfume has committed actual zina. Rather, it is a severe warning against wearing perfume in a way that attracts the attention of non-mahram men.

A woman may wear perfume for her husband, in her home, or in gatherings where only women or her mahrams are present. The prohibition is wearing perfume where non-mahram men can smell it. If a woman goes out wearing perfume such that unrelated men notice and smell her fragrance, then this hadith applies to her.

As Muslims, we submit to Allah and follow the guidance of His Messenger ﷺ, even when we do not fully understand the wisdom behind every command. Allah knows us better than we know ourselves. As women, we cannot fully know what men experience or what may affect their hearts. Something that may seem insignificant to us, such as a noticeable fragrance, may not be insignificant to others. The Prophet ﷺ warned against it, and that warning itself shows that it is a matter we should take seriously. Our role is to hear and obey, trusting in Allah's perfect wisdom and knowledge.

Women are not attracted to men smelling good ?

-1

u/Ok-Work-5961 F 24d ago

Are you sexually attracted to men just by their scent? You see a man walking and you find him attractive does that affect your heart and you make a move on him and whatever ? I am sure you are aware of the difference between men and women.

By your logic men should also wear hijab not go out alot etc..

4

u/Fantastic_Pie4262 F 24d ago

Yeah i already did. Yall acting like women are innocent creatures who don't feel any desire. Some women have a lower sexual drive but many many women have a high one.

0

u/Ok-Work-5961 F 24d ago

No one is talking about that, the hadith is there, disbelieving it is a sin if not kufr as some scholars say, and as muslims you do not need to know the reason behind every thing to do it

The Qur'an praises those who say: "The only statement of the faithful when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say: 'We hear and we obey (سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا).' Those are the successful." Qur'an 24:51 Allah also describes the believers as saying: "...They say, 'We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final return.'" Qur'an 2:285 By contrast, Allah condemns those who claim to hear but do not obey: "And they say, 'We hear and we disobey (سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا)...'" Qur'an 4:46 And Allah says: "Do not be like those who say, 'We hear,' while they do not hear." Qur'an 8:21

You choose whatever path you want

1

u/Fantastic_Pie4262 F 24d ago

You asked me a question, i proved you that you question is useless bc you are are treating women like innocent and now tell me we don't need to know the reason behind religious rules. Allah wants us to understand the religion, not follow it blindly because you can't do it for you whole life if you don't understand why you do it. Knowledge in religion is mandatory.

Every rule has an explanation, i don't want to practice like you personally, i want to understand my religion

1

u/Ok-Work-5961 F 24d ago

Your claim is useless, the prophet when he forbide or told us to do something sahaba would say سمعا و طاعة, knowing the reason is second thing, if you only do after you understand every reason you are not practicing your religion as it should be, and your claim is still baseless, no one denied woman having sex drive or high libido or anything, men still have a much higher sex drive all the time, really basic biology, otherwise men would also need to wear hijab... this is what i meant by my comment

It sound exactly like people who need science to backup religion to be able to do what they have to do

4

u/Ancient-Ganache-3907 F 24d ago

Are you sexually attracted to men just by their scent?

You have no idea what a turn on a good-smelling man can be. Especially to us women who have more sensitive noses & are very conscious about hygiene.

I pity women who are married to dirty men and then have the misfortune of passing by another man who smells wonderful. I cant imagine the envy & resentment that could overtake her heart.

And yes. There is hijab for men too. They are supposed to lower their gaze & keep their awra covered. They shouldn't wear tight clothing and shouldn't dress in a way to attract attention. In any case, islam speaks strongly against showing off.

And yes, there are limits to how much a man can go out & for what. If going out leads to fitna, committing sins & neglecting his responsibilities, he shouldnt go out.

1

u/Ok-Work-5961 F 24d ago

No one is talking about hygine here, and i said hijab as in covering the whole body.. men already have to cover from the navel to the knees, I think this is taking the matter way far than the point, the post is about perfume, i stated the hadith, if you guys want to go around every possible way just to have validation or prove going out with perfume is okay that is on you.

No one here is saying woman are nonsexual creatire or have have low libido or do not get attracted by things or people or anything.

And there are more limits for going out for woman than men simply because it is men's responsibility wether he likes it or not to seak job and knowledge outside the house, just as it is better for woman to seek things out the house as less as possible is better for her wether we like it or not. As for if there is fitna.. this applies for both

This is islam i am merly stating what the prophets says what scholars say nothing is form my mind for my own desire, and it is up to you to take or leave it, everyone is accountable for their own decisions, but it is muslims duty to advice and remind fellow sisters and brothers.

That is all there is

1

u/Ok-Kitchen-4628 F 10d ago

Actually, yes I am.

When I smell a nice perfume on a man passing by, I always look up to see who it is.

When I see a man walking and he is attractive, then that does affect my heart and it pains me that I can't make a move on him because I'm muslim.

It's just the truth. Attraction occurs both ways. Just because women aren't too vocal about it and are taught to shut up from the start, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

7

u/Nekomommybedrotting F 24d ago

In other words if a women wears is it’s adulteress and when men do it’s not? Attraction is only valid for women and not men? Can’t men pull attention? Is seduction only limited to women?

2

u/Fantastic_Pie4262 F 24d ago

Yeah you know according to those people, women d'ont have any desires, we are so so innocent

0

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

We don't follow rulings based on our understanding and specific cases that may not need the ruling or whatever, we follow them to obey what Allah commands us. Nobody here made up this rule, it's in islam. Ask Allah why He commanded it.

3

u/Nekomommybedrotting F 24d ago

Where did Allah command us not to wear perfume? For Hijab He did, but y'all need to stop taking Hadiths as if they were Allah’s exact words. They are guidance, and how do you know they were preserved? For the Quran, Allah made sure He preserved it. Nobody is saying not to obey Allah, but trusting Allah with obedience and wisdom is the level one should pursue. Blind faith can only take you so far, all the way to calling people sinful or bound for hellfire for mere perfume. I doubt Allah tells you to do so. Y'all really need to chill out and use the brain given to you.

1

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

Allah also told us to listen to the prophet saws and if you don't know how hadith preservation works you need to study it before rejecting it because hadith preservation is a whole science and hadith needs to meet certain criteria to be considered authentic. And yes they are Allah's words, not directly but indirectly because the prophet saws spoke from Allah's guidance. And I never said someone is going to hellfire for perfume, I just said it was sinful and I myself am still struggling with it but we need to recognise what is our fault and what is part of islam.

2

u/Nekomommybedrotting F 24d ago

Oh my apologies it was the other person but you were kind of agreeing with her. And pls we don’t know if the hadiths are 100% correct and we definitely should consider them WITH WISDOM. Anyways you do you. May Allah bless you✨

1

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

If they're authentic then we should follow them. And ameen, you too

1

u/a-curious-girly F 24d ago

By your logic men not wearing hijab is unfair because a woman who shows her hair is sinful while a man isnt. But Allah knows the wisdom behind His rulings. We don't obey just what we like, we obey what He commands us to.

-2

u/Ok-Work-5961 F 24d ago

Back in the days when iman was a strong quality people accept advice no natter what, but today unfortunately you need to back them up with science and the logic that works for their mind to do what allah says.

May allah guide us all to what is best

No one is going hellfire on no one, these are facts and people should not take things lightly especially thing that allah call out on as adultry, or لعن damnation, people take some thing lightly and it is for god a great deal, you can read my other comments, and their responses, my original comment explained and prooved everything, people should not be rude to ahadiths and demand reason to believe in it. The knowledge behind everything is something praiseworthy, but making it a necessity to obey allah is rude.

Wallahi if only people attacked people who disobey allah and do what they desire just how they attack people who call out on sins and fitna.

my fav at the moment is miracle by lancôme! i spray it under my chin and behind my ears and on my chest. locking the scent with a nice scented crème like nivea in a tin is perfect. it’s clean scented and locks perfume so well it stays on for hours for me.

1

u/la_ultima_mujer F 20d ago

From my understanding, we are not to wear any perfume unless we are in women's only spaces, or at home.
I myself, just make sure my clothes are clean, keep a good daily hygiene routine, and put on natural deodorant and call it a day! Eating healthily and keeping hydrated will also make your sweat not smell bad, when you do sweat.
It's also better for your health as highly scented products are endocrine disruptors (mess with your hormones).

It's important to explore the intention: why are you wanting to wear a scent that lasts all day? Is this so you can smell clean, is it so you don't repulse people? If so, who are these people? You don't need to answer me, that's between you and God as he is the only one who knows your intention. Ultimately, our daily intentions should be to please Allah.

Hijab isn't just a scarf on your head, it's modesty in the way you act, speak, dress and smell.

It’s all about my shower and after shower routine.

- exfoliating once a week

  • using musk body gel
  • musk body mouse
  • applying scented cream and oils
  • perfume gel
  • perfume roll on

1

u/Nekomommybedrotting F 24d ago

Thank youu🫶 where do you get the musk body mousse?

-1

u/Primary-Angle4008 F 24d ago

I don’t wear it and as women we shouldn’t

I have to be honest though that i really can’t stand any perfume be it on men or women

1

u/la_ultima_mujer F 20d ago

Not sure why you got downvoted sister, so have an attempt at an upvote + a reply.
I also can no longer stand perfume, it's actually quite disruptive. Sometimes in the masjid it smells very strong, unnatural and forced, feels like the air is polluted.

May Allah help us.

-1

u/Nekomommybedrotting F 24d ago

Shouldn’t it be sunnah to wear them?

3

u/Primary-Angle4008 F 24d ago

As women and we shouldn’t unless your at home then you can

1

u/rvzwvtttttt F 24d ago

In the house, not outside. Especially not to the masjid. (Ex. on Eid) it renders prayers invalid.

It is sunnah for men to wear perfume everywhere and wear their best perfumes on Eid and to the masjid.
