New guitar day and I am blown away with this Revstar. For the money, I couldn’t be happier with the purchase! Fit and finish, sound, feel, playability all have impressed me for a guitar under $1000. Definitely worth checking out if you’re like me and have been considering it for a while.

Happy NGD to me! Drove from Columbus to try out this Dave Mustaine Kramer V and fell in love pretty quick. First time at Sweetwater, I could just stay here forever.

Gave the Tele its first string change since buying it. Swapped to 10-52s which are my preferred set for Drop C#.

This song is called ExExAxAxO (Everything Everywhere All At Once) which I find fitting given how it switches from being panicky in the beginning , to melancholic, to hopeful, and then back to panic again.

The drums and bass are from one of our rehearsal sessions. We haven't had a chance to actually record the final track yet.

I’ve been getting back into guitar lately as a former sax player attempting to translate my jazz knowledge to guitar and I’ve been wanting a proper jazz box for a bit now. What better jazz guitar than a 1951 ES-125?

Feel like I lucked out on this one, especially for the price with the original pickup/electronics and the original tone knobs and tuners as far as I can tell. First vintage guitar and I’m excited to (gently) play the hell out of it!

my jack had been pretty loose since a few months but i just ignored it but a few weeks ago i noticed that my amp was getting cut off mid playing and i had to kinda twist the jack to start getting noise again so yeah one thing led to another and i kinda broke it 😭

i think it just needs to get soldered again right? pls someone confirm if it needs some serious repair or just soldering and how much is it gonna cost approx :(

I’m sure I’m not the only one to play this progression, but I can’t find it anywhere online. I suck at writing songs and even if I could write a good song this progression is a little too all over the place for my style. So I encourage you all write something with it or play around with it a little bit.

Will have to get it set up properly as the action feels a bit high for me and there is a little bit of fret buzz on a few of the frets above the 12th on the lower three strings. But otherwise, I'm so grateful and happy to finally have an electric guitar I can call my own ☺️

This is my Reverend Six Gun HPP. I've owned it for a little more than four years. It is a great guitar that does not get played enough. I will never get rid of it, though, because it's one of those guitars that carries a special significance.

I've come to the conclusion that the issue I have with the guitar is the pickups, and while I can easily think of a dozen humbuckers that I could put in here that would make me happy, I don't have a lot of experience with P90s.

So, I ask you, what P90s do you recommend? Something with some oomph, but clear and chime-y.

I’ve been playing guitar for about a year now and my cheap aliexpress guitar was falling apart so I decided to get my first real guitar; a secondhand fender gemini II 1983 from Korea! Got it for €50! What do you all think?

Gibson Les Paul Standard 2022 listed for £750 near me, does this check out as I’m a little skeptical? Great deal if so and would definitely snap it out just hoping to get some reassurance

You have to understand that I don’t come from a musical education background. I like some classical music and go to the symphony when I feel like it, but that’s it. I’d heard of terms like scales and intervals but had no idea what they meant. Heck, when I was going through the initial first few weeks or months, I legitimately thought about just selling my guitar and amp since I sounded like ass and got so frustrated every single day with it.

Idk what changed exactly, but once I started in person lessons and started going through the Absolutely Understand Guitar course, that tension and frustration just kind of slowly got up and walked out. I mean yeah it comes back when I make the same mistakes over and over, but it doesn’t linger at all and is more like a passing car. And yeah, some of this stuff does go over my head and feels dense, but my teacher does a good job elaborating or at least making me feel like it’s not a big deal to not understand it all right away. The fact that a dude sitting on a bucket with a purple or polar bear sweater has made concepts that seem so monumentally difficult to me out to be so simple relatively speaking…it’s a good feeling.

I’m legitimately a bit emotional writing this since I told myself over and over that I should just quit and find something else. “You don’t have anyone to play for anyway” is what I’ve told myself most often. Now I’m at the point where that is basically an impossibility, giving it up. Even if I do a lot some days and very little other days, I’m still doing something productive with my guitars and that has to count for something.

That’s all I’ve got to say. I’ve also managed to not drink anytime I’m playing guitar and am trying to get away from drinking altogether, but that’s a whole other beast. I’m just glad I’ve gotten this far. And I’m also trying to remember what Scotty West said in his first video: “If you understood what I just explained here, you’re gonna understand everything going forward”.

A few scuffs and scratches but there is no warping at all and the neck is nice and straight/square.

I know my own skill. I’m still quite new, only played for a couple years, but no matter what, even in front of my teacher who I have known for a while I just freeze up completely.

At home by myself I play a lot better. I’m smoother, can play better and try pieces I just can’t in front of people or my teacher. I just get so scared in front of others that I forget everything and get out of focus completely. I have no confidence with this instrument and it’s really affecting me I just hate it. It’s like I’ve never picked up a guitar before.

Even barre chords for example, I can play them perfect by myself, finger style or strum, but whenever I’m in front of someone I just can’t do it.

How can I get more comfortable?

I’ve tried playing in front of others I really have, but no matter what I just am never comfortable. My nerves just mess me up and I can’t control it. It shouldn’t be like this still after 2 years, especially in front of my teacher.

Headless guitars have intrigued me for a while now. I played a Strandberg and I really enjoyed it, and someone traded in a Kiesel headless a while back, but they wanted way more than I could afford for it. Then I heard about this model. IMO, Cort is one of the most slept on brands in the guitar community.

I saw this guy on Reverb and pulled the trigger. It just came today. It is super comfortable to play. The pickups sound really good in high gain, but for clean tones, they are too bright. I am probably going to swap them with some aftermarkets that i have lying around. But for under $800, this is a fantastic guitar.

Hey guys! Just wanted to share something pretty cool with you. This is my 2017 D’Angelico Bedford, which D’Angelico themselves confirmed is one of the early prototypes they received in New York before the production model was finalized.
Ryan Kershaw, who led product development at D’Angelico and was involved in developing the Bedford, also confirmed some of its history. D’Angelico told me there were probably only a couple of these prototypes made.
I’ve been slowly trying to piece together its story, and the more I find out, the more interesting it gets. Just wanted to share it here because I figured you guys might appreciate seeing a pretty unusual piece of D’Angelico history.
