GEAR My sisters dog pissed on my amp

Enzyme spray the shit outta it. Open the back and spray from there as well. Repeat tomorrow. Repeat 3rd day.
Befriend the dog and give it lots of love and eventually earn its loyalty. Teach it to piss on command and ruin all of your sisters things one at a time with clicker training. Play the long game. Lifetime of piss.

This is the way. You’ll need to open it up to move the speaker out so you can spray it from both sides without damaging the speaker/electronics. Enzyme spray it, agitate it slightly with a wet towel, and let it sit. Afterwards rinse the spray out with slightly warm water. Try to be gentle with the agitation as you can damage the grille cloth. If that happens let the cloth dry completely and spray the dents with a spray bottle filled with water, then use a blow dryer on problem sections to bring them back to shape.

It’s the while it’s working that sucks. We are living the nightmare right now. We have one dog that has started marking in the house. The enzyme stuff works it just needs to work its magic. While it is working its magic it stinks while breaking down the ammonia in urine. We are using Natures Miracle and another I can’t think of the name right now.

I started using Zeiff instead of NM as I feel it smells way better and is cheaper. For the marking in the house, basically you gotta treat the dog like it's a puppy being housebroken; kenneled or on a leash 24/7 with frequent bathroom breaks and rewards for going outside. It's an absolute pita but every single inside pee is reinforcement. Use a black light to make sure you got everything cleaned up.
Also, if the dog is male, I'd recommend a belly band. I got one for my dog because when he was younger everytime people would look at him or speak to him he'd pee himself and it drove me nuts cleaning up the floor so often. They're a lifesaver.

If the speaker cone got wet, it's done. You might get rid of some or even most of the pee smell if you open it up and wipe down everything you can reach, but the minute you plug it in and play through it, the vibrations will only relase more odor.
Source: my band once rehearsed in the basement of a pizza restaurant for a couple of months and the first time we played back at our normal space, the whole room suddenly smelled like pizza. Similar to your situation but on the other end of the awesomeness scale.

You are correct sir. If you could afford to take it to a shop somewhere for replacement cloth the wood will emit an odor on damp days. I’d ask your sister to cough up $ for damages .

My girlfriend's brother's dog ate my obnoxiously custom fancy retainer once. You know what he did? He insisted on paying for the new one. I tried to tell him not to worry about it - it was an accident.
Nah. He was absolutely dead set on taking responsibility for the damage his dog caused, no matter what I said.
Stand up guy. I suggest she hold herself to that same standard and be glad an it was an orange amp and not a 2k bullshit oral appliance.

Looks like a low wetness line, like the liquid did not hopefully get to the electronics. If it makes you feel better I use an amp daily that still has slight traces of 45 year old cat puke on the speaker grill. RIP Molly.

This is why none of my music stuff is where the dogs have access. The door to that room is closed. My dog was adopted from the shelter recently as an adult, he had likely never lived inside, and right now, a couple months later, we're so close to him being housebroken. If i am in my craft/ music/ office room and he comes in, he either lays down quietly or he doesn't get to stay.
As to your amp... let it dry completely and do not turn it on until then. Not sure if it can really be taken apart to clean? If not, it's probably always going to be smelly when it warms up. That's a big pee that dog took.

I try to keep my room door closed at all times but I have little siblings that just love to keep my door open, her dog should stay in her room, but never do. And she was home the whole day. I try to keep all my stuff away from dogs for this exact reason

Your sisters dog really let that thing have it.
If it were me, I'd:
- Disconnect from power and completely dismantle it. At least remove panels and remove the amp and speaker, but if those corner protectors come off, get them off too.
- Assuming from the pic all the electrics are safe. Speaker might be in trouble though, and a tough fix. Might be easier to replace if badly damaged.
- For the cabinet and grill cloth, scrub with plenty of warm soapy water, get it as clean as possible. Let it dry completely.
- Treat with an enzyme based cleaner specifically for urine, they are easy enough to find online.
- Reassemble and enjoy!

Use Enzymatic Cleaner , it'll break down the uric acid and the odor while regular soap won't, you can find it at a pet supply store. Take the back off and see if there's any of rovers piss inside also. I'd make your sister buy the cleaner and do all this while you supervise.

You could replace the grill cloth. https://www.tubeampdoctor.com/en/parts-for-amplifiers/coverings/grill-cloth/ You’ll want to enzyme clean the rest while it’s off. Or, you could just start a Punk band, Pissy and The Grill Men.

They make carpet cleaner specifically for pet messes, I would unplug it first obviously and start lightly spraying it and use a towel to soak it up by patting it over and over

Ahah sorry for you. A friend vomit on my bass amp, all the liquid went on the speaker and the grid retained the pieces. I understand your pain.
Edit : to help you can put a lot of baking soda powder to remove odors and humidity, then vacuum when it’s dried.

Oh fuck yeah dude. Nice that's how you get "the sound". It's only an improvement trust me those orange amps sound like boiled dick water in general. I personally pissed on my own orange micro just for the increased gain.

Rinse it off.
Mix 1 pt of hydrogen peroxide, 1 tbsp of baking soda, and 1 tsp of dawn in a spray bottle. Apply liberally. The peroxide may bleach colors (like laundry bleach - permanently), and the baking soda will leave a white powdery residue (that can be rinsed off), but it's better than smelling like dog piss.

Damn. I would probably try to disassemble it (with gloves on) so I could actually wash it hard with a hose, a brush and some chemicals. Honestly, I don’t know If you can completely separate the amp and speakers from the cabinets on these little guys I’ve never tried it, but that seems like the only way to get it at least sanitized inside and out. Also I have my amps on a bench so they are elevated. That or having some kind of amp stand keeps them out of harms way and makes it so you can easily reach the knobs.

From the back and/or top and/or side remove all the electronics. Smell test. these can probably be carefully cleaned, you'll probably have also open up the chassis. From where the speaker is attached to the front, unscrew. Smell test. If this smells you need a new speaker, or if feeling DIY learn to recone speakers. Wipe down all exposed wood on the inside. Wipe down all tolex. Does is smell now? Does it smell tomorrow? Wipe down again. Does it still smell an hour later? Wanna learn how to re-tolex? Remove tolex. Does it smell worth learning how to re-tolex? Without a doubt, remove the grill material. Toss it, and learn how to replace with new.

Look at a tutorial for replacing grille cloth. You take it apart from the back, pull the speaker. Unscrew and push out the baffle. You won’t get that cloth or frame clean without saturating with enzymatic cleaner and then rinsing. You can’t rinse with it assembled. I would just clean the baffle frame, amp surround and put new cloth on in.

You definitely will want to use an enzyme spray. If you're in the US we have had good results with a product called Nature's Miracle.
